All your criticisms, I completely agree with. I’ll also add and this is toward the people who say fans are “reaching”: it’s okay to criticize an artist you love, and still enjoy their music. We’re not saying she’s racist. I think HIADT is a fantastic song, but I also agree that the wording could’ve been better and her ignorance is a bit telling in her response. I’m still annoyed by the events yesterday because of how she handled the release and her response to it when her lack of information didn’t help at all and contributed to the controversy. All it takes is 5 seconds to make a post to announce a song is coming up, that’s it. It takes little to explain that’s its personal and has nothing to do with any drama you had with anyone recently. That’s all.

The way she’s been posting/deleting posts too. I know she’s done that before, but the “in your car” snippet, then playing Sylvia, but stating there’s a new track being released called “hope is a dangerous thing” and “oh btw! sorry but I’m cancelling shows xx” and then deleting that video is super confusing and frustrating. That alone was messy.

LanaDelNews just posted on his story that it was cancelled. Lana could at least say something. I’m getting fed up with her and idc if that’s irrational to say.

That’s why in my last post I didn’t include it. I think it was her Beats 1 radio interview she mentioned the number, but I could be wrong.

I listened to it and it’s fucking amazing. Single-worthy? Not even close. In the context of the album, I don’t think it would spark this much dissatisfaction. As much as some of you hate the Cinnamon hype, I think it should’ve been released instead of this one. Not so she can land on the charts, because she doesn’t care for that- although she said she wouldn’t mind it before in an interview. It’s also the reason why I’m hoping How to Disappear isn’t a single. As much as I love that song, I’d want to enjoy it with the rest of the album. It feels like a closer. Sylvia Plath feels like the climax. But this is just personal preference anyway.

Here’s the thing, Lana wouldn’t disrespect Sylvia by putting her “head in an oven” just to stir drama when she’s been working on editing herself down since 2014. She didn’t show the graphic images of the assasination scene in the National Anthem video, and the worst we’ve seen during that era was the ending of the BTD music video, the ending of Blue Jeans, and the jumping off scenes in Summertime Sadness. She could’ve kept the original video for UV, but she didn’t because who knows? Maybe she thought the original went too far, maybe her managers convinced her it wasn’t the right move for her career and the backlash would get worse. She even removed the “drowning” scene in Shades of Cool, yet it’s one of her best music videos. Anyway, she hasn’t spoken up any regret for these kinds of decisions. Usually it’s for moments she said she should’ve thought more of what she was putting out there. Not putting effort in visuals is lazy. But so is being controversial for the sake of being controversial. That’s not deep or entertaining.

Something doesn’t have to be controversial to be memorable tho.

Random, but does anyone know what happened to pinupgalore-lanadelrey on tumblr? She used to answer fan questions thoroughly, was super nice and usually updated on huge news. Did she quit her tumblr page?

The “baby, you have to forget and I have to move on” lyric should’ve definitely been on TNC, but I still love the song and I’m prob one of the few who don’t hate it.

I actually liked the long song titles in LFL! I think they make it intriguing especially if someone had never listened to her music before... except Coachella because that song- big no. But this song title is too silly lmao It’s still gonna be “Sylvia Plath” to me.
