  1. tbh I’m more slightly bothered by the fact that most of her other titles have been pretty concise, bold titles and now this one is a whole sentence. I’m a little concerned that this album is supposed to be very wordy bc I did not vibe with the wordy songs on BB, but that could be more due to the style than the wordiness.
  2. Thank you both so much! Wow, that’s actually really close to official. Is BOZ just a known leaker for Lana? Sorry to be annoying. I’ve been a dedicated fan for years, I just don’t follow these threads super closely bc I get overwhelmed that I’m already out of the loop so then I get even more out of the loop. I’m trying to get more knowledgeable/involved though, so thank you again for the help.
  3. Thank you so much! What are the sources for those?
  4. Today's the day. I'm SO out of the loop because I can't keep up with this thread, and I don't know where to get up-to-date Lana updates on the album/era. Does anyone have any recommendations?
  5. I agree except NFR. It’s cohesive to me except for maybe Doin Time which feels out of place in the tracklisting. LFL, Chemtrails, and BB all feel like they don’t have a solid vision to me. She has clusters of cohesive songs on each album, but overall they all feel a lot less organized and less strategic compared to AKA, BTD, UV, and HM.
  6. After basically a year of not listening to them, I’ve become obsessed with Thunder and Living Legend. They’ve been on repeat all day long.
  7. Has really aged well given light to recent crypto events over the past year
  8. Yes exactly this! It makes me feel so empowered and confident it’s great for the gym. Helps me get those extra reps in while feeling like a bad bitch. I’m really craving more high energy empowering EDM like this. Growing up in that era made me think that there would be pop music like that forever.
  9. Since the year is coming to an end, I thought it might be fun for us to reflect on the albums released the year. I was originally going to have this be a favorite/least favorite album thread, but I have a hard time ranking some of the albums, and I think having a more nuanced discussion will be more interesting anyways. My favorite albums (I already know I'm going to be judged hard for some of these, but they're the ones I loved and found myself going back to the most): Dirt Femme - Tove Lo Slut Pop - Kim Petras Call me a tasteless trashy gay all you want, but this album is everything I've been missing in pop music since the early 2010s ended: oversexualized bad bitch EDM anthems Honestly, Nevermind - Drake CAPRISONGS - FKA twigs CRASH - Charli XCX (How was this 2022?) The Hardest Part - Noah Cyrus My biggest disappointment Dawn FM by The Weeknd After Hours was my favorite album of 2020, so I was really looking forward to his follow-up, but Dawn FM didn't really click with me. I liked quite a few songs, but others I couldn't even tell whether I liked them or not. While an insanely impressive production, I just didn't connect with it. And while the Jim Carrey interludes were cool and helpful in building the storyline, I found them very annoying when I just wanted to listen to music. Mixed Feelings: Renaissance - Beyonce Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers - Kendrick Lamar Listen... I loved this album on first listen, but I found it to be too big and too heavy to take in. It's an hour and 13 minutes long, and some of the songs are just very heavy. Every time I try to listen to it, I get about halfway and can't make it farther. We Cry Together just DRAINS me. I feel like I only processed like 5% of this album there's so much to digest. I need more time to go back to it. So Far So Good - The Chainsmokers I remember liking it on first listen, but I don't think I ever listened to it again. 😬 Not for me: Midnights - Taylor Swift I've tried listening to this multiple times, and Lavender Haze is really the only song I come back to, and maybe Snow on the Beach... rarely. The Loneliest Time - Carly Rae Jepsen I keep hearing how good Carly is from other pop stans, and every time I go to listen to her, I can never get into her music. It's too bubbly, feminine, & bubblegum for me. Albums I have not listened to that I'd still like to listen to Ivory - Omar Apollo Motomami - Rosalia Un Verano Sin Ti - Bad Bunny Gemini Rights - Steve Lacy Harry's House - Harry Styles Traumazine - Megan Thee Stallion Hold on Baby - King Princess emails i can't send - Sabrina Carpenter Ramona Park Broke My Heart - Vince Staples i used to think i could fly - Tate McRae What are your thoughts on the albums released this year? Was it a good year in music for you?
  10. Get Free is that song that I just don’t get. Every Lana fan seems to love it and think it’s one of the best tracks from LFL, but I just can’t get into it and haven’t been able to since day 1. It’s not bad, I just don’t vibe with it.
  11. Not surprising given it’s an interlude and feels very obnoxious and out of place compared to the rest of the album, but the fact that the next lowest is Nectar of the Gods kinda ruins my trust for those ratings. NOTG is a 10/10 song for me and my #1 favorite from the album. How do the ratings work? Is it averaged from user ratings?
  12. Do you ever hear a song where you’re like, “this is nice, but it’d be a 10/10 if Lana sang it?” Lana is like the only artist I can imagine this with.
  13. There’s been some, not a lot. https://xray.britspears.net/index.php?cat=672 She also has gone on quite a few trips based on her photos she or Sam have posted. And she had her wedding. So it’s not like she isn’t doing stuff or is stuck in some facility again. If her posts are any indication though, it seems like she’s still going through it and likely prefers to keep to herself. She recently revealed she suffered permanent nerve damage as a result of the forced facility stay in 2019, has had trouble breathing ever since then, and only recently got meds that started helping her. She said she still cries everyday and that it’s hard for her to be around people because her trust is so battered, that she feels more comfortable talking to animals instead.
  14. Not me only just now learning that the lyrics are: “I don’t want suburbia” not “I don’t want to burn me out” “1, 2, grapefruit” not “1, 2, breakthrough” I was wondering why grapefruit was called that. I thought there was some hidden story/meaning that she just didn’t mention in the song. I thought suburbia was obviously describing suburbia so it didn’t need to say the word. How embarrassing for me.
  15. That many people being killed is insane. Such a scary and horrible way to die. RIP.
  16. Imagine a cult-y and horror-esque music video for Tulsa Jesus Freak with visuals like this: https://www.tiktok.com/@wild.morgan/video/7158572240714353963
  17. Blackout has been released in Dolby Atmos / Spatial Audio on Apple Music! I usually have Dolby Atmos/Spatial Audio turned off 95% of the time because I find it gimmicky and worse sounding than lossless, but I’m currently listening to this, and it’s truly amazing for a lifelong Britney fan. It’s really a whole new way to experience the album and is making me fall in love with it all over again. I still think lossless sounds better and more polished, but this almost feels like experiencing the album live. I’m hearing things I’ve never heard before and this is coming from someone who’s listened to Blackout *literally* hundreds of times. Happy 15th birthday, Blackout!
  18. The run of Call on Me, Attention Whore, Pineapple Slice, Kick in the Head, and How Long is sooooo insanely good. It’s a crime that the official tracklist wasn’t set up that way. Also, the change in the drop for the last chorus of Kick in the Head is so filthy in the best way possible.
  19. Well I finally got my Dirt Femme CD after having it delayed a few times! Like @DeadSeaOfMercury, I’m disappointed it’s not a jewel case. It came with a few indents right on the front cover from damage. And there’s no booklet which is disappointing but not surprising given no one buys CDs anymore, Tove is now indie, and she’s not a household name. Still super happy to have my first Tove Lo album though, to support her going indie and to support such a great album, and the digipak design is pretty cool regardless.
  20. It's wild how influential Lana is for me. Some of the songs I like most from other artists are songs that sound like they could be Lana songs. I'm thinking of Stoned at the Nail Salon by Lorde and Snow on the Beach (though it is a Lana song, kinda). Both songs are definitely my favorite songs on the albums they're included on.
  21. I wish I could get more into Taylor so I could understand all the hype. I think her style just mostly doesn't vibe with me. Snow on the Beach and Lavender Daze are definitely my favorites on the album so far. Props to her for consistently dominating, especially this far in her career though. Getting this many people listening to your album is seriously remarkable in this day and age.
