  1. The greatest just feels like the ultimate bittersweet end of summer and end of an era song. And the lyrics feel super ironic and fitting given summer 2019 was probably my favorite time of my life so far, then things went downhill, and then a pandemic hit, and the 2020s have been pretty shit ever since.
  2. Can someone please tell me what version of Yes to Heaven this is?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvZN8OaPMKk
  3. I wanted TJF since it’s my favorite song on the record, but seeing the description of that song vs the description below, the one is below is way more accurate! Thank you for this! I love how thoughtful it was. You don’t find personality quizzes like that often. I would love one for each album from you.
  4. Aw, Better is one of my faves. I do think WYN is a good closer in theory, but I tend to skip it. I like Change Your Mind as a closer because it feels so high energy and like we’re ending the album on a high note. I LOVE Exaholic, but to me, the demo just doesn’t feel finished enough to match the rest of the album without kinda sticking out like a sore thumb. I experimented with including it but couldn’t find a spot where it didn’t sound out of place. I know Matches is pretty controversial from what I’ve seen, but it’s a bop for me. It also has more streams than Swimming in the Stars or Mood Ring on Spotify last time I looked, which I know is probably bc of Backstreet Boys, but it makes me feel slightly more validated putting it on lol. I do think Swimming in the Stars fits the album and sounds more finished than Matches (and I actually did think of putting it near Man on the Moon), but I tend to skip it more often than not. It’s a cute song, but it just feels a little grating to me. I don’t like the “DREAM!” intro, and the vocals during the chorus sound distorted, they sound kinda obnoxious paired with the loud, overproduced instrumental imo. I think I’m in the minority when I say that though, so I understand the differing opinion. Thanks for your feedback!
  5. Glory - Britney Spears Invitation Make Me... Man on the Moon Just Luv Me Better Mood Ring Do You Wanna Come Over? Slumber Party Just Like Me Matches Love Me Down Change Your Mind (No Seas Cortes) This should've been the standard edition that was released, and this is a hill that I will die on. It has no skips, it's bop after bop, and it's cohesive but still keeps things interesting.
  6. I need a remastered + HQ version of Damn You. I love the song, but it always starts so obnoxiously and scares me. And the distortion throughout the song just isn't letting me enjoy it fully.
  7. Slut Pop is one of my favorite releases of 2022 and got me interested in Kim (yes, I know lots of people will judge me for this), but I just watched two of her songs (They Wanna Fuck and Your Wish is My Command) performed at Coachella and wow, it was bad. Like to the point where I was wondering if she was okay. Briefly watched her performance at Pride with Xtina, and it was better, but wow, she is just not a great performer - at least lately. I don’t think I’d pay to see her live unless she was part of a festival. I'm not one to criticize performances often either..
  8. “Yeah, my boyfriend’s pretty cool, but he’s not as cool as me.”
  9. My updated ranking that no one asked for: Tulsa Jesus Freak Chemtrails Over the Country Club Breaking Up Slowly Yosemite Not All Who Wander Are Lost Dark But Just a Game White Dress Let Me Love You Like a Woman Wild at Heart Dance Till We Die For Free It’s very rare that I don’t skip my numbers 8-11 (bottom 4 songs). That being said, the album has grown on me a lot since it was first released, unlike Blue Banisters where I liked it more at first and less over time.
  10. + no universal healthcare + no mandatory maternity leave
  11. and not to discredit or distract from the serious removal of protection for basic human rights and women’s rights that just happened, but Clarence Thomas (one of the Supreme Court judges) explicitly advocated for overturning gay rights in this ruling:
  12. As a Taurus with BTD being one of my favorite music videos of all time and my most watched Lana music video, I approve.
  13. I don’t know if it’s the same sample or not, but to me, it sounds very similar to: Swish Swish - Katy Perry (2017) Sour Candy - Lady Gaga & BLACKPINK (2020) Used to Know Me - Charli XCX (2022) And it feels and Break My Soul is the worst use case of the sample/sound/beat/whatever imo. Five years of the same sound and the worst implementation…
  14. i watched the Used to Know Me video for the first time today, and pardon my ignorance, but why did I never know that she slays at choreography… and just everything? The entire video is a serve and one of my favorite videos in a long time. she deserves all the success of other main pop girls. i know her music isn’t usually this general public-friendly, but i still don’t know why she hasn’t had more mainstream success this era. is this where i start to become a stan?
  15. This album could be released today and still sound brand new, 19 years later. Also, I’m really impressed by the mastering and how high quality it sounds.
  16. charli xcx (besides true romance and crash). i also never got into hyperpop, which is probably why charli’s hyperpop albums don’t resonate with me. sky ferreira - i like some of her songs, especially everything is embarrassing, but i would never know how acclaimed she was if i wasn’t on the internet. i don’t really dislike her music, but it mostly just doesn’t really click with me. SAWAYAMA - i actively dislike this album. something about the production (maybe the rock influences?) literally makes me uncomfortable/angry/nauseous. it feels so grinding on my soul, i hate it.
  17. I’m so over everything. School shootings and mass shootings, far right extremism, racism, social and economic inequality, women losing control over their bodies, anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, unaffordable housing, climate crisis, corruption, little to no ability to get anything changed, a pandemic… I’ve considered myself an optimist for years now, but I’m starting to understand why so many people are pessimistic. I don’t think this is the end of America, as a lot of really bad and scary things have happened here in the past (just look at it everything that happened in the 20th century), but it’s getting hard to feel hopeful. I miss being blissfully ignorant, but also, I’m the type of person that wants to help fix this shit so that others can have better lives too, and I can’t do that being blissfully unaware.
  18. This is stunning! I immediately thought of NFR when I saw that photo.
  19. I’ll never understand how Yes to Heaven hasn’t been officially released. I don’t think it’d necessarily fit well on any tracklist of any album Lana’s released, but man, it’s such a missed opportunity being unreleased.
  20. Ok no one take this the wrong way, but how are y’all getting your tiktok feeds filled with unhinged people/content? Like isn’t the algorithm based off what you feed it (aka what you like, watch a lot, interact with)? My tiktok feed is just cute animals, homoerotic/hot guys, funny videos, creative video edits, and life advice. The comments can be messy sometimes on some videos, but I’ve never gotten stuff like eating disorders, weird stan content, abusive content, etc. Even the Lana tiktoks I’ve gotten are very light-hearted and unproblematic.
  21. Imagine your debut album being AKA. AKA is that bitch. So creative and unique.
