Maybe I’m in my problematic era but I’m so tired of everything being controversial. Lana can say whatever she wants. I truly don’t care. A lot of The Weeknd’s lyrics are abusive and misogynistic, and no bats an eye (including myself) because he’s male and it’s art. Why is this any different except that it’s like 50 times less problematic?

what did Pitchfork rate your top 5 albums?
Venice Jesus Whore replied to one time beauty queen's topic in Music
Well, this is disappointing. I already can only pick my top 3 albums (not 5), and apparently Britney isn’t a big enough artist for Pitchfork to rate her music. Blonde - Frank Ocean: 9.0 Norman fucking Rockwell: 9.4 Glory - Britney Spears: ??? I tried just going off my last.fm most listened to albums, and 3/5 of the albums didn’t get rated by Pitchfork. Great thread idea though. -
Has anyone here watched The Real Housewives of Orange County season 2 because omg Lindsey reminds me so much of how Lana looked in her Lizzy Grant era??

Lana covers Interview Magazine - March 2023 Issue [Print]
Venice Jesus Whore replied to Elle's topic in New Interviews
Billie interviewing Lana?!?!? Two of my favorite artists?!?!?! I am deceased. -
I’m happy for her being pregnant and happy to see her performing again even if I was underwhelmed. But it all just made me realize how much I just miss her music and eras. I really miss the late 2000s and early 2010s pop music scene altogether. Pop music just isn’t as fun anymore. Both Rihanna and Britney were such big staples in my music library, pretty much being the soundtrack to my life growing up, and now neither of them have released an album or had an era since 2016. They both knew how to put out hit after hit of super fun danceable bangers while being confident in themselves and their sexuality and having an effortless swagger about them. Both of them fading out of the music industry at the same time has left a huge void for me that just hasn’t been filled since.

I would love to have an option just for a basic boring black/dark theme. Doesn’t have to be custom made or Lana themed. The themes we have are so pretty but I often crave something simpler/cleaner and better for visiting at night/in dark environments.

wrong thread oops srry

I’m a flop fan who only listened to unreleased songs from 2013 and earlier and not all of them, so all of the songs on both albums were actually new to me which makes my relationship to them different from a lot of fans here on LB.

omg thank you so much for the thoughtful reply. I know a lot of people like WAH, but I have a love/hate relationship with it, so I didn’t include it. Maybe it’ll grow on me and I’ll find a spot where it flows well.

Honeymoon - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
Venice Jesus Whore replied to annedauphine's topic in Post-Release Threads
I listened to Honeymoon for the first time in a while today. Some thoughts: What time of day do y’all associate with this album? For me, it’s the only Lana album that I picture being completely at night. Music to Watch Boys to is that bitch. The song is fire sonically, the music video is stunning, and it includes two of my favorite hobbies: music and watching boys. The pre-choruses of God Knows I Try and Religion have to be some of her best ever. The melodies are SO good. This might be her strongest album in terms of her melodies. I miss her melodies like this. This feels like her most lush and wealthy sounding album. Like I feel like classy old-timey wealthy when I’m listening to it… picturing like Great Gatsby or the Titanic. -
isn’t this a popular opinion? people trashed the OG cover and specifically the truck so much

Agreed. This is the only time I’ve ever been excited for a Taylor music video (not a fan, just really love Lavender Haze), but I found the video to be boring and underwhelming. The lavender bath water scenes were gorgeous though.
