  1. I’m so excited for this, I can’t even put it into words. I’m excited for cotcc too, but this is such a different type of project that it’s just so much more to anticipate. I can’t wait to listen to Lana reciting her poetry, it’ll be the most serene thing. And with the pre-orders up and knowing the digital will be out in a few weeks, and knowing there’s books and a variety of vinyls, it’s really a dream. I’ve really been feeling like I needed something to look forward to lately, something definite, and this is truly it. I can’t contain my excitement for this project.
  2. But at least we have like half a year wait to pull off a bank heist to buy her next poetry collection lol.
  3. The US shop still redirects to the Canadian shop on its own, BUT now today if you switch to the US shop from the UK shop it no longer redirects to the Canadian one. So I was finally able to even see the US shop lol, and I pre-ordered the picture disc. I might get a coloured variant if they come back, but I usually just get a standard and an extra. I generally don’t care for picture discs, mostly bc of the packaging, but since I plan to get a standard too and it’s the most different looking of the extra vinyls, I felt it was a good choice. I’ll probably wait to buy the standard in store on Oct 2nd if stores are open at that point, so I didn’t order it yet. But if the coloured vinyls come back I might just get one of those instead of the standard or even just as well as it bc this album is so special. But then I can’t waste too much of my money yet, with her upcoming schedule. Tbh I’m so excited that I’m almost overwhelmed that there’s another album to wait for lol.
  4. I wonder if UO will put up an exclusive vinyl. I originally thought no, but with all the different options, who knows, maybe..
  5. Tbh I wouldn’t expect any news whatsoever til at least the poetry album is out digitally. But with the poetry album & book acting as promo, COTCC might not even need a lead single or anything. I wouldn’t mind since we’re getting so much right now.
  6. Ugh why won’t the Canadian store update? It’s like everyone but Canadians have access to the preorder at this point. Idk why she can’t just have a combined North American store like most artists.
  7. Anyone know anywhere in Canada that has the vinyl up for preorder already? The Canadian shop still has only NFR stuff and the US shop redirects there and the UK shop always cancels on me right away. Maybe after she announces them.... anyway I’m thrilled that there is a picture disc and coloured vinyls and all that. I just hope they don’t forget about the Canadian shop.
  8. Religion vs God Bless America– and All the Beautiful Women in It
  9. Yeah I kinda figured everything wouldn’t be up til at least Lana made the announcement later today, and even then sometimes sites take time to put things up. I’m just impatient.
  10. Ok this showed up, but then when I changed the site into English, it couldn’t be found again..... this doesn’t make sense. But at least I can still preorder it and use my points from the French version of the site, so it doesn’t matter.
  11. I’ve been looking on chapters for it and I can only find the kobo version. Every time I click hardcover from that page, it says the page can’t be opened and it doesn’t show up in searches. I hope they release the hardcover right away so I don’t have to order from amazon (they never get physical copies of Tom Cox’s books til the paperback comes out so I’m worried they’ll do that with Lana too)
  12. I was just thinking, if by chance COTCC’s instrumentals are a mix of the soft ethereal sound of Lana’s first poem and the darker surfy sound of her second poem, it would kinda have Twin Peaks vibes.
  13. The Greatest vs Brooklyn Baby
  14. The Greatest vs Ride
  15. Yeah that’s my mum’s name and my grandmother’s name and they’re just Irish Catholics. It’s just a super religious name. Never saw it as appropriation since Christianity is kinda dominant and can’t technically be appropriated.
  16. Idk why this Lana specifically chose the name “Lana” but the name was originally created for Lana Turner by Louis B. Mayer, so it’s definitely not cultural appropriation. (It was first spelled Lonna to rhyme with Donna but then they settled on spelling it Lana.) So a white person came up with the name for another white person. It’s just a Hollywood name.
  17. I just wanted to add to this because I feel like there are so many connections. First off, Terry had lots of mental health issues growing up and David looked up to him so much but also feared “going crazy” like him. He became his main muse in his art (he became obsessed with “madness” too). By the time Terry passed, they hadn’t seen each other in years and David was crushed and couldn’t even go to the funeral because of the attention he’d bring. So that was a really rough loss for him. So I personally always connected the song to Lana’s ex who died, since he is a muse of hers and she likely didn’t see him for awhile before his death and it likely affected her in a similar way. (Also idk if it’s another connection, but the song Space Oddity as a whole is seen as a bit of a metaphor for doing heroin, so the addition of the lyrics from that song could possibly be related to that.)
  18. I’d love for Lana to eventually collab with Brian Wilson or even just for him to produce a song/album for her. They were supposed to work on a song together a few years ago but there was scheduling issues and he seemed really bummed about it, so maybe there’s still hope.
  19. seriously, I do this all the time and I didn’t realize til now people thought it was weird. Isn’t it no different than wearing a skirt and sweater?
  20. Venice Bitch vs Honeymoon
  21. Idk exactly what it is but I’m really feeling sort of Leonard Cohen-ish vibes for this album. Not exactly sonically or lyrically, but like idk psychologically? But like in a Lana way. I’m not even entirely sure what I mean, but that kinda came to mind.
  22. Older records were usually a lot shorter and the quality generally got worse near the end of each side (depending on the style of music, it can be very noticeable)
  23. I want to believe that tracklist and lyrics so badly because it’s so much fun to find out more about the album, but I’m naturally a skeptical person and everything about this seems too good to be true and fans are always getting better at faking this shit. As soon as I truly believe it in my heart, it will get proven fake lol.
