  1. LOL @ the time stamp. Bob was creeping! Also, maybe FMWTTT was intentioned for Lorde as is "Fuck you and your views on feminism, I'm writing a song about sleeping my way to success, just because I CAN! And that's feminism, biotch."
  2. To be honest, I have a theory that Lana is a compulsive liar and that she can't help it lol She might have stage fright which manifests itself as stomach upset which probably just compounds itself because who wants to perform when they feel like they're going to simultaneously vomit and shit their pants? No one. My brother suffered from practically the same thing growing up (right down to getting nervous before plane rides enough to vomit non stop during, I've even had him puke in my lap, twice lol) and it came down to his nerves and having a nervous stomach. Practically everything made him nervous growing up, even going to see a movie would get him worked up enough that he would throw up in the theatre. It was like he was scared of throwing up from being nervous, so he'd throw up because he was nervous about throwing up. A self fulfilling prophecy or negative feedback loop, whatever you want to call it. Doctors put him on antidepressants from a young age and just now at 21 he's finally starting to feel like a normal person. He's pretty skinny but he manages to eat normally now. Lana says she eats a lot of spaghetti and only that which sounds a lot like my brother who would only eat cheese and pickle sandwiches growing up, even if we were at a fancy restaurant, my mom would pack him one in a ziploc. I don't know, it all sounds very familiar to me, and I could see it going either way. We know Lana is notorious for making shit up or being extremely hyperbolic with her anecdotes, but at the same time, the symptoms she describes sounds so familiar to me as someone who watched a loved one suffer for so many years. Who knows really? Only Lana, I suppose. Part of me wants to believe her and the other part thinks "Yeah right", but I guess we'll never really know. As for the three year diagnosis thing, my brother was getting all sorts of tests done from the time he was 5 until he was about 15. He was in and out of the hospital constantly getting tested on because they thought he was showing signs of ulcers and they even diagnosed it as ulcers for a short period of time before they realised it was because of anxiety that his stomach was acting up. So a long diagnosis is possible and "ulcers" might be the best the answer they can give her right now. I do think Lana has some psychological issues though and she might actually believe she suffers from the same thing as Kurt as a form of idolatry, when all it could be is the power of suggestion and a bad case of stage fright. Kinda like when you have a headache and you google your symptoms and "cancer" comes up so you automatically believe you have a brain tumour instead of, I don't know, being dehydrated or something.
  3. I know Kurt didn't have ulcers, he had ulcerative colitis which fancy doctor talk for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, but most people hear that and think ulcers. Google it! so many people believe he had ulcers just because of the common misconception, so don't you think if Lana was trying to emulate him, she'd say ulcers instead of "Oh yeah I have inflammatory bowel disease" 1) that is not something a superstar would say on a radio interview because ew, overshare, and 2) if she's trying to emulate Kurt it would just make as much sense to be vague and say ulcer because everyone always thought Kurt had ulcers too... I'm trying to help out your theory here dude.
  4. Lana gonna get her toes sucked reeeeeeaaaaal good... Weirdly, I think she'd enjoy that. DAE think that she sounds high in this interview, especially talking about LA? And paging @@merman... Lana said she has an ulcer! (just like Kurt!!)
  5. Can we talk about the fact that she said: " I’ll tell you later when more people know." in regards to the Love of her life, the record exec? WTF does that MEAN LANA?! LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAA
  6. Oh because those clips are for the other two music videos I bet. There's a clip of her literally smoking as if she was just on fire... She knows...
  7. No... like she listens/dances to Beat Poetry like a Beatnik: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beat_Generation
  8. Thanks love! Some interesting song choices on there!
  9. Can someone screenshot this pls? it's saying Spotify isn't available in Canada and I can't see anything but their stupid sign up to be notified thing.
  10. I hope Shades of Cool has many references to this: Sorry, did we find out 100% that it's a Nina cover? I think I missed that...
  11. I always thought we were called Lanatics. But maybe that was just me... :oopna: And if she did write and record most of this album before Dan intercepted it, and we do get demos, it would be like getting double the songs or like two versions of the album like a B side. One of my favorite bands, the Bravery did this with their album, The Sun and The Moon. One cd, The Sun was a more chill stripped down version of all the songs and the other cd, the Moon was similar sounding to their last album. Here is a link to listen to the songs and how different they sounded. The Ocean in particular is extremely contrasting. Beautiful and so well done. I wish Lana would've done the same with UV. I want the demos so badly! Especially seeing the difference in how the radio version of WC was to the original... sonically I mean I get a strong Wicked Game vibe from the radio version and Dan's version sounds like something the XX would do or similar. To me, it's like listening to two different sounding songs. The radio version sounds like how I imagined her organically transitioning from BTD. The way Dan interpreted it expands on Lana's sound and helps her music age with her. It's kind of awesome and I'm so excited to hear demos! I only wish she would release them too, like the Bravery did.
  12. Oh holy jesus that is so much for what I've seen of her concert. My friend just bought her daughter VIP meet and greet Katy Perry tickets for the same price! So If I went to that Toronto show, I'd have to spend not only that much on a ticket, but $100 on a hotel at least (for a shitty one in YYZ) and $50 on my plane ticket and that's not including food, merch, etc. so we're looking at a $500 excursion for a 90 min set and there's a very slim chance you would get to meet Lana. If I didn't get travel benefits like I do, add on an additional $700 for a RT plane ticket. Way too much money for 90 min of my life imho (but maybe that's just my responsible, I've-got-bills-to-pay side talking lol) Then again, if I lived in YYZ, I probably would have bought a ticket for that price anyway but I would have gone alone because none of my friends would think it was worth that much. It's really too bad because I think she could sell more tickets for less money at more venues in NA if the costs were more reasonable and she'd be making herself way more accessible to her fans. Unless she's going for the "rare cult-following concert" experience. I mean, this isn't a Cher or U2 we're talking about where there might only be a couple more shows they will perform forever, it's Lana at the "start" of her career. How much will her tickets be when she reaches the same level as Cher or Madonna??
  13. The part that I'm more concerned about is whether Lana is even seeing any of the profit from these secondary sources. I read on reddit that another artist (Katy Perry I believe) has a clause in her tour contract that a percentage of the tickets that go on sale will be bought by her management (or the record label maybe, i can't remember) and sold on StubHub for more money than the venue is charging and she gets a majority of the profit on the "scalped" tickets. I don't know if Lana's been doing that (I kind of hope not because it seems like the artist would be taking advantage of the fans that way, but at the same time, it's very smart from a money making standpoint) but if it's a case of just normal scalpers taking advantage of her fans, who they know will pay ridiculous amounts of money and Lana isn't seeing any of it, that is upsetting to me. Most of Lana's fans seem to be super young and not financially stable enough to be spending $200+ (and potentially additional travel costs) to be seeing her. I don't know, the whole fact that her tour sold out within minutes and suddenly there are thousands of tickets on stubhub within the hour going for triple or more of the original cost is horrible and so shady. I don't know how some of you are going to her shows unless it's bankrupting you in the process or you have Sugar Daddies to pay for it all (I wish lol). I'm the same age as Lana, I have a decent paying job with lots of spending money, AND have travel benefits to fly for practically nothing anywhere in North America and it still was going to be way too much money to spend on a scalped ticket for a 60-90 min set. I just couldn't justify it in the long run. (On a side note, does anyone else think that there is a "conspiracy" going on with Lana in general, all her leaks, the mismanagement of everything she does, the way the tour was handled with scalped tickets... it just seems so weird. But I've never stanned for anyone else like I do for Lana, so maybe this is the norm in the industry and I'm just seeing it now?)
  14. I believe the articles talking about secondary sellers like StubHub, not the original tickets. They're saying there is a demand for tickets and people are basically paying the overinflated price (marked up by scalpers) to see her.
  15. Where is @@SitarHero?? We need a new emoticon!!!!
  16. HAHA omg... I would die of embarrassment!
  17. I always wonder if one of the female voices yelling "...who wants to give it a whirl" is Chuck?? tbh I love this song so much, I will shamefully admit that I even made my own drunken Lana-style video to when I did a trial run of my Catwoman costume for Halloween the year it was leaked. I will take it to the grave with me, but I had a geeky old time that night spent singing along with the song on repeat in front of my webcam, pouting for the camera and generally being a dork. Now I know how much fun Lana had doing all her early videos and the amount of effort she put in... she is forever awesome!
  18. I prefer the original tempo change. It was different and original. Lame they had to change it conform to "radio standards"
  19. I still think American is about him! Nothing more American than someone who is Native American... And I dunno about anyone else but he looks pretty golden brown to me lol
  20. I'm more shocked Wicked Game is not on there!!!
  21. Ugh. Either I'm too old or too stoned to understand how to delete a double post... if you read this, please take pity on me and delete this post mods... thx
  22. I remember hearing he was Native American, like @@Heaux said, as he was the one who let Lana borrow his Headdress for Ride. BUT! He could be half Native half Cuban, or heck even a quarter. I know tons of people who identify as a quarter German or British over the rest of their heritage. Also, we don't know the Native American thing for fact unless it came from Lana's team. Too many fans spreading misinformation... Also, that last picture... Parliaments, New York and 7-11. He's definitely a Lana's boy Sorry, meant to combine this post with my other one above, but I can't seem to find the delete post option...
  23. If you change They're to Their... Down on the west coast, they love their movies, Their golden dozen, rock and roll groupies It also makes sense, grammatically (well... as close to grammatically correct as lyrics can get lol) However, if you change it to: Down on the west coast, they love their movies, Their golden gods and rock and roll groupies it also makes just as much sense. To be honest, I've sang along with the song both ways and when I sing "golden dozen" I hear her sing the hard D of Go"d"s and when I sing it "Golden Gods and" I hear her sing the Z sound of do"z"en. So I'm torn between lyrics atm.
  24. Wha? You're not a fan of her sophomore album? When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He'll Win the Whole Thing 'fore He Enters the Ring There's No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might so When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land and If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You'll Know That You're Right... LOL yes I had to google that because all I could remember was When the Pawn...
