I'm working on Cruel World this weekend. I have something really cool planned for it and I can't wait to see how it turns out. I'll post it here as soon as it's done.

Thanks a lot! I have been wanting to do a remix or hers for a while. It's actually a bit tricky to time the synth clock to her vocal delivery, since she her style is so laid back. What sounds on time in the first bar is off half a fraction of a beat in the second. I had to keep shifting the vocals until I found a happy medium and just wrote underneath her voice. It still needs a few tweaks, but that's pretty much what it's going to sound like in the end. I want to do something off Ultraviolence next.

Something I'm working on right now. Figured this would be the closest I would ever get to working with that voice.
I will do more as long as I can find decent quality acapellas...and that pic is my music trademark superimposed over her face off of the Born To Die cover (but you can't see it unless you click the Listen On Soundcloud link).

Went to the New Orleans show last night. A million flower crowns (zzz...zzz...zzz).
And one thing you shouldn't expect is a lot of music. It took them over an hour to set the stage up after the warm-up DJ left, Lana sang for an hour, and it was done. No encore either. She left out a bunch of songs.

Well, I'm hoping that someone that goes to see her on the current tour might be able to make out some of the music they're using. I don't recall any fast brass instruments in these songs...it was all very slow and strange.

No, it wasn't any of those. One song had a saxophone line looped over and over, with a very dark bass and some killer drums under it. Another was like avant-garde jazz guitar music with some eerie keyboard chords accompanying it...all instrumental music with no vocals. Some of it had a trip-hop feel, but it was mostly a very dark kind of electronic jazz.

I went to the Lana show last night in New Orleans at Champion's Square, and I was mesmerized by the music playing over the P.A. while the stage was being set up. It was like some dark, ambient electronic jazz. I tried to record some of it with my phone, but it didn't come out enough to use as a reference.
Do any of you LDR scholars have information on what songs they use during setup? Do you know how I could find this out? I have never heard anything like it and would like to discover these amazing artists.

I just cut this one for the hell of it. Lots of fun playing this kind of stuff with LDR's voice singing over it.
