  1. I mean you don't have to read peoples opinions on a discussion board if you don't want to
  2. It's not just the camera. It's the angle, the poses, the whole composition that could have been executed. This is a candid, awkward and unflattering pic wothout any aesthetic vision behind it. And it's not like the concept of her being happy with her friends could not have been executed much better EASILY
  3. If she threw all her aesthetic abilities overboard - something which defined her as an artist in the past - then it's not nearly as inappropriate to voice disappointment as you are making it sound. This is not little 4-y-old Jenny I'm bashing for her drawing but an artist who really did the most lazy and visually unpleasing thing ever after being established as a visual mind And - merch that USES this very aesthetic is pretty much about it, isn't it? whatever, I'm not going to derail the thread any further.
  4. I mean they are free to express they like it just as much as I am to say I hate it. I'm not stopping anyone to buy or like anything, I'm stating my opinion
  5. I don't know about your financial situation and I genuinely hope you are doing well so lemme just say that - you should not buy merch just for the sake of supporting a rich mainstream artist from a huge, rich label And nah I won't buy it since that only communicates that she really does not have to put effort into things like that and make her continue with covers like LMLY or COCC and low quality merch. A lot of small artists have better merch with a bigger creative vision even though they have a much smaller budget to start with
  6. Yeah and yes. Thx for asking hun Idk why u feel so personally attacked. You can like it and spend your whole highschool scholarship on all sorts of things-made-in-china with an unflattering group pic on it if you want to. And I can have my opinion. Which is that this cover is the lowest she went in her whole career and that it's stunning people actually support this lazyness by buying it. Oh and btw - I do support the music industry. Small artists. Local artists. Venues. By buying from their bandcamp, paying for digital concerts streams etc. Not by spending my money on overpriced, low quality, ugly merchandise of a rich woman who owns so many houses she seemingly can't remember in which of the kitchens she left her sense for aesthetics
  7. This album cover proves y'all will be the absolutely worst stuff ever for a lot of money just cause it's official Lanamerch No suprise she's not taking any effort
  8. I think the comment would not criticise the content of the pic if it was a professional one.
  9. I mean - if she would not use a terrible iphone pic as an album cover this would have not be an issue at all
  10. I mean, the Selena Gomez part is where it's going wrong but I really don't understand why anyone in their right mind would want that hideous album artwork as an expensive picture disc

Not really sure what you mean with that if I'm very honest. Paradigme, Disconnexion and Cool Colorado are all pretty trippy and artsy. A bit stale, since they are all more or less the same but I thought they were a really good continuation of their previous visuals Hypsoline, Always in the sun or Elle Ne T'aime Pas. My favourite videos are probably Sphynx and Mycose though.

I really like their sound! Their first record was such a coherent joyride. Mystère was nice aswell, particularly "Ou vas le monde?" and "Mycose" are beautiful. Not too sure how I feel about the singles they released since then, some of them are quite nice, others seem a bit ... basic
  13. Since CoCcs song structure is not really very conventional, it's kind of hard to point at where the outro starts (like with FILY), so I personally would have only considered the drums as an outro - which are nice, yet not particularly interesting (since they are missing the backing vocals from the MV)
  14. I feel like both UV and HM have the best outros. The Blackest Day, Honeymoon, Pretty When You Cry, Money Power Glory, Shades Of Col, 24 - all of them are soooo good. BTD & Paradise songs are much more focussed on a "standard" pop-track architecture to have memorable outros. On NFR the songs either did not really have an outro at all or they just drag the instrumental for another minute without anything happening. Listening to CoCC and LMBYLAW the same thing will happen on the next album. Maybe Jack's just bad with outros.
  15. The "Special Edition" of the album - the one with the Neil Krug picture - comes with a poster. At least if you order on HMV, Target or Media Markt. Yet we have not seen which picture it will be. I really hope it's one from Neils COCC-shoot and not another still/ iphone pic from the music video shot ...
  16. Do we know for sure what the poster for the Special Cover-edition will be? I suppose it's the Neil Krug album artwork but I have not seen a preview anywhere
  17. No, it does not. But that also means not everything she says/does is to be taken literally. It's obvious she's using metaphors and imagery and is not the personification of multiple archetypes, narratives, ideals and the glamour of multiple historical eras. Plus it's not as if it a fictional narrative would be worth less than an autobiographic one. The only boring thing here is your personal attacks btw. Maybe it's you who is projecting and not me
  18. You acutally believing anythign she writes/sings is a direct representation of her life - which is accidently a represantation of multiple archetypes, ideas and role fantasies is a pedestal. Apart form that you completely deny her any form of actual agency in her artistry. She literally roleplayed Jacky Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, a bike-riding prostitue, Mary, Eve and Malena. She obviously got inspired by Priscilly Presley and the Lolita-movie-adaptations.The West Coast mv is a reference to an old Chet Baker documentary. She's in love with romanticised concepts like Old Hollywood and the American Dream. All of her home-made movies are full of that kind of inspirations and fantasies. And all of her poetry-work is extremely focussed on vintage-typewriter visuals and Sylvia Plath. She's an artist, so obviously she DECIDED to do all of this, because she likes the respective visuals/sounds/vibes and thinks they reflect her own feelings or serve as a good metaphor for her own experiences.
  19. Let me guess - you are part of the over-delusional Twitter/Instagram-stan brigade Instead of putting her on a pedestal you could just acknowledge her artistic capabiities as a writer and creator.
  20. There may be goodies, however don't count on it just because of the price and the import - I was often misled by this kind of entry on JPC. A lot of EU stores offer US or Japan imports, whcih does not necessarily means there is anything special about them. And these imports are often expensive.
  21. I hate when people say this shit. She draws from personal feelings and experiences but ... she's an artist. Obviously there is a lot of metaphors, imagery and symbolism. Apart form that, she loves archetypes and will constantly use them. And it's not like she has not borrowed from historic people like Marilyn or played role-fantasies like the trailer-park-girl, the GoGo Dancer and the rich golddgger-wife.If you really take that literally, you have a very flat understanding of art and writing
  22. A remix EP would have been nice, but her releasing a remix/version of the same song weeks apart totally kills the momentum. The song is not strong enough for that and not really a very remixable track either way.
