I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Needle & Thread, the lyrical content there is soooo deeep, definitely one of her best and wish it was either on After School(it feels very personal/vulnerable/spiritual) or MM3

Yeah, unfortunately... the way a generic pop single was a last minute decision to the ep speaks A LOT... wonder what she had planned for the EP before. the Bakery's budget for Test Me would be way better imo, the only thing I like TB is the part where she is alone dancing and her outfits, the rest are something we would expect from her aesthetically. Now imagine her performing with the aerial hoop on top of the planet similarly to that scene where she is talking to Lilith(god) on K-12, the outfits, the choreo, the sexiness she woulda serve I really hope she incorporates the unused ideas to next music videos.

she said this about Test Me MV She was posting a lot of stories doing aerial hoop practices around that time so I guess it had to do with the video. I really wish she made it the single instead of The Bakery... like, she even said it was going to be her favorite music video she's EVER made. I hate Atlantic Records so much

I remember she posted one that was very decorated like this one and she used it at the time she was shooting that scrapped photoshoot for K-12(the one she is on the chalkboard and greenscreen). I really hope it has to do with MM3, it looks fabulous and matches the aesthetic of her new font with the sword she's been using lately. The whole album was never scrapped or redone from scratch, it's just people assuming that just because she said "the songs i'm putting out y'all haven't heard yet", all the songs that leaked were for the MM3 sessions(or not even that, just her experimenting, Mother of Pearl was just a random song and never meant for MM3 , as she said), it doesn't mean all of them were part of the final tracklist.

Same here, I really like K-12 but wish the visuals were more focused on high school days instead of that pastel-fluffly kindergarten aesthetic or even have the Kindergarten-to-senior year but with different aesthetic that would still work. I remember she said K-12 would be darker and wonder what happened to that... I mean, i have many questions and feel like Atlantic made her go that frilly-cutesy childish movie to kinda "clean" her image after the timothy's thing (just an assumption and i think about it a lot lol but this happens a lot in the industry when someone has a bad reputation and they get a new image to sell their idea of "new person, innocent, not the bad guy, learned from my mistakes").

It's weird that the Emerald demo feels so authentic productionwise while the other "studio version" the chorus production was changed to the same old generic poppy-ish bass boosted melody that everyone uses on their songs

I would love if she started to think about being independent(and planning on it obviously, she needs to find her way)after her contract with Atlantic ends and after she gets "bigger". I feel like her sound and image would be changed vastly and she would be free to do whatever she wants. Atlantic sure has control of what she decides to release, whether it's 50% or 100%, every label does that to their artists, unless if you are big enough. She didn't write Numbers and Detention for no reason.

You should definitely give it a watch, it's just 15 mins long, the visuals and ending are fascinating. It's the last episode of Season 3(each episode tells a completely different story so there's no problem if you don't watch the others). I'm really hoping we get something fresh, new and surprising if she's going the dark path, curious to see how the aesthetic is going to be this era cuz we all thought K-12 would be mediaval-esque but ended being more barroque rococo.

"Sirens" perfectly fits this episode titled "Jibaro" from the Nextflix's show "Love, Death and Robots" that is about a mythological siren. It's mesmerizing, chaotic and so vulnerable just like the song, Melanie needs to take notes for the mv... Now i need an edit with the song
