  1. I CAN'T BELIEVE SOMEBODY ELSE HAS SEEN NECO Z ALENKY  :O

i can't convince any of my friends to watch it  :toofunny:

Your friends don't know what they're missing!

It's such a great movie, I really like stop-motion and it's done so well here. I love everything about it, Alice falling on the pile of leaves and the leaves going into the drawer, the rabbit breaking free in the beginning and putting on white gloves, and then later eating sawdust! And the caterpillars, and the little mouse trying to make a fire on Alice's head..

  2. This is very difficult.. I came up with a list of like 28 movies before fully realizing that this topic is asking for 5. If I made a top 5 next week it might look a bit different, but oh well.

    Der Himmel über Berlin (1987)
Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain (2001)
    Něco z Alenky (1988)
    Todo sobre mi madre (1999)
    La strada (1954)

  3. Yess I've liked them ever since All The Things She Said came out.

I prefer the Russian songs, I think my favorite album is Lyudi Invalidy and my favorite song is Vsya Moya Lubov but I also like Obez'yanka Nol and Lyudi Invalidy. I haven't listened to their solo stuff at all, I probably should get around to it at some point.

  4. I really like his first two albums. I never got into The Magic Position (except for Augustine, which is lovely) and only listened to the newer albums once or twice. One of my favorite songs is actually the other Nico cover, Ari's Song. It's gorgeous.

  5. OMG, I finally got to see her! I'm even more in love with her. She dedicated a song to me and my friend!

That's so great! I bet she was fantastic. I'm so excited to see (and possibly meet) her too!

  6. Saw The Knife on Wednesday which was extremely weird / amazing, and Cat Power, Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar yesterday.

Will see Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds today, and Bat for Lashes tomorrow.

  7. I went to see Morrissey a few years back at my least favorite venue here in Helsinki, however he made it work and it was pretty great. He also changed his shirt at least five times. This was important information.

  8. WHAT DOES IT EVEN MEAN IM SO CONFUSED  :crying:  :icant:

Do i smell a new album  :hawt:

BUT IT'S ONLY BEEN A YEAR SINCE THE LAST ONE WHAT IS THIS.

Oh I see Madrigal has discovered something. A theme song! How cool for Regina.

  9. Is anyone else a tad bit sad that she releases an album each 4 years approx.

I'm actually glad she does this because I get overwhelmed when artists release music in a fast pace. I'm slow sometimes when it comes to really getting familiar with whole albums. I often feel like I'm still stuck listening to Medúlla and haven't given the proper attention to anything past it.

  10. here's my unpopular opinion: i don't care how she looks

    Same.

I'm also not interested in finding out about her past or present relationships and I don't care to speculate on who K is. I also don't care how old she is and whether or not she's had work done.

  11. when I was 12 or 13, I'd always listen to these Russian Soviet Communist Childrens songs. I had no idea what they were singing, (probably a lot of propaganda) but it was always so beautiful. It really touched me *SONICALLY*

My favourite one had lyrics like "Uncle Lenin's forehead is so big that it can hold the whole earth and even the sky. And uncle Lenin smiles, his eyes twinkle and he laughs like uncle Ho-Chi-Minh.".

Anyway.. the music of my childhood:

    - My mom's record collection (Queen, Elvis, Dolly Parton, Fame soundtrack.. I also remember loving "the tiger record" [Thriller by Michael Jackson] and Madonna's True Blue.)

    - Spice Girls

    - My friend's older brother's music (Guns n' Roses, Nirvana and Hanoi Rocks. He taped me a copy of From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah, which I was obsessed with for a while. Then I forgot about it.)

    - Music programs of TV (basically all the album and single charts and a daily 1,5 hr music program that was on after school. I never had MTV.)

Savage Garden - Truly Madly Deeply
    Madonna - Frozen
    TLC - No Scrubs, Waterfalls
The Verve - Bitter Sweet Symphony
    All Saints - Never Ever
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Scar Tissue, Otherside
    Macy Gray - I Try
    Aaliyah - Try Again

    Sugababes - Overload
