I think her label thought it was too problematic since it's clearly about the Jim Jones cult. Freak doesn't mention "Jim" so they probably thought we wouldn't notice I always thought that it doesn't fit into the Honeymoon era because of the hair & makeup although the new UV video is iconic too

I HATE it when fans of other artists are gatekeeping their songs. It's soo elitist. ...yet I am fully guilty of trying to gatekeep Lana's entire discography sometimes. Casual listeners? Critial acclaim by mainstream media? I hate to see it.

I love Yosemite but it shouldn't have been seperated from Architecture / TNBAR. Lana called them sister tracks and they really are. The vibe is so similar. I adore both.

Agree with LFL and NFR being in the lower half. FULLY agree with your first three although I'd put them all in one place Paradise, Sirens and COCC deserve better

Don't forget Dan Auerbach Or someone completely new. I'm not familiar with any producers though so I can't recommend any...

No but hopefully also no NFR 2.0 (since she is working with Jack again) because that was palatable and mainstream too.

Dear Universe, please don't let LDR9 be a palatable and tame mainstream album that attracts casual listeners and TikTokers. Give us some truly risky and wild masterpieces. That's all I am asking for. thanks

No attack but you made this sound as if that's a fact when it's mostly true for the mainstream media. NFR is (in my opinion!) in no way the peak of her career musically. UV and Honeymoon (and also AKA) are. They have yet to be dethroned. The only reason why NFR is so popular is because Lana was trying to be more mainstream and was also trying to be "insta baddie" which attracted more casual listeners. The album and Lana herself were palatable and "easy to digest" at the time. But I personally don't need that. I actually came for the cinematography, the richness, the dark and controversial lyrics. So if the new album exceeds NFR that's great but to me that wouldn't automatically make it a new career highlight. Again, this is MY opinion but I'm sure that many longtime fans don't see NFR as her best album to date either. And tbh - I don't give a shit about what the mainstream media and casual listeners think of her music or lyrics. I understand Lana would care (although not sure if she really does tbh) but I don't. I don't want anything careful, I want the full fucking drama. No Grammy needed.

In general people dramatizing her past like that. I once read a comment like "Reminds me of her stripper days" or people thinking she was once a heroin addict (a true heroin addict looks ... different) or my favorite, some fans (especially the newer ones) still believing that the Ride mv is a true story. They take eeeevery story she tells through her music and videos seriously. The only art form that really tells her story as it is are her poems in my opinion.

Imagine though Your concept is gold. A few days ago I was thinking about how iconic that LaChapelle shoot for Flaunt Mag was⦠I want a short film / era in that visual style now. Especially that pink and yellow cat print outfit I LOVE IT
-
No. She'd definitely love to be but she's not. She's just interested in psychology and spirituality. But I also don't think her lyrics are in any way predicting the future so Idk where you got that idea from?

I think Putin keeps firing generals from his military. Eight so far (if that's true). So yeah they're going down the drain. https://nypost.com/2022/03/10/fuming-putin-fires-generals-over-ukraine-invasion-losses/ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10598315/Ukraine-war-Putin-fires-eight-generals-rages-FSB-battlefield-failures.html Trigger warning!

It was to me for a long time but now it's actually the opposite. UV to me is now a colorful era like the Shades of Cool mv and the Neil Krug photoshoots. There's three color palettes to me: 1. neon, 2. warm & hazy, 3. surrealistic colors. And the psychedelic dresses Lana wore.
