It is great, I agree! But to me it doesn’t fit the album, the sound change is too drastic

for me the last songs would flow perfectly like this:

Purrr - Plastic - Out Of Time - Tear Me Open - Starfucker

the outro in Starfucker would be sooooo cool as an ending to the whole era :crying:

Girl Like Me feels like Starfucker 2 era, but let's see what she cooking in those pink pods...

  2. This post is edited from the original post.

I'm going to present a few points here and I'd like you to comment just to help me understand what Slayyyter wants for herself.

    About comparisons.

I can't imagine an era in which there were major pop singer brands that weren't either compared or rivaled. Britney and Christina. Madonna and Cher. Madonna and Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. Even Sharpay Evans and Gabriela from HSM. I'm not saying it's right to do it, but on the pop scene, it's always happened. What I can imagine Slayyyter feels is that she doesn't want to be compared to Kim Petras and Ava Max, because Slayyyter must believe that her pop is better. Which I also agree with for some things. The content that Slayyyter has is much more interesting than what even big pop singers do? Absolutely. But if she doesn't want the general public's opinion to be in comparison, then do something that the other girls can't catch up with. Slayyyter didn't even took a risk with writting. Her songs with raps about sex and stuff is cute campy but is not smart or deep level on writing... the pen is not penning like some demo songs (Dangerous and Swimming Pool got the best bars and en-tundras FOR ME).

I don't want her to feel dumb about my analysis, but I see that she's capable of much more. Alternative singers (Fiona Apple, Polacheck, Sky Ferreira, etc) who haven't had a taste of fame like Doja Cat or Billie Eillish, don't care if their fans' validation follows the academy. By that I mean critical approval. Starfucker didn't even tickle the music media. Apart from the fans and those who love pop, who has talked about the album? Fantano doing reels on youtube? A tweet from Pop Crave? And that brings me to my next point...

I don't feel that Slayyyter is taking her career seriously just for the schedule.

What's the point of an artist performing a song for months on a tour that opened with Tove Lo and only releasing it after a year? She performed Erotic Eletronic at a party with Aquaria. She performed I Love Hollywood. She performed My Body. And no album out. No announce to make. But why? She has the right to do what she wants, but it certainly affected her performance because of the time these songs weren't on digital platforms, which also implies piracy (not her fault, but a consequence). It feels like she had no plan at all.

Then there's Out Of Time as the lead single. A song like a promo with just a few videos on youtube, twitter and instagram. 5 months after its release, a performance on Vevo. I understand the issue of spending money on visuals, but she had an amateur video. Then Miss Belladonna, another single with no video clip with bad promo on social media. Erotic Eletronic. And not to mention that in May she performed James Dean at the Boiler Room in New York. But it wasn't until November that we had the track. Seriously, people, let me know if I'm the only one bothered by this and I'll stop.

Now, I don't want to put all this on her back. Because she has a team with a lot of people working on it, but she's apparently not doing it in an organized way.  I remember halfway through Club Paradise, the costumes weren't the same, she lost her suitcase in Europe, she was already using another set list for the show, she changed the remixes. It's the same with Club Valentine, one hour there's a Gimme More remix, the next there's not. Out of nowhere No Comma, the demo of Love To Make. And then out of nowhere No Comma and her hair flapping like a rebel on stage. I can see that she can have a lot of fun, but she doesn't seem to be taking things seriously. I hope that one day she'll be able to perform with a live band and just let her mouth do the talking.

I'm more of a metalhead. Bands like Deftones, Babymetal, I Prevail and even Poppy are my favorites. So I'm getting used to a roll out of circular eras of artists with a loyal fan base. Since 2019 I've been hooked on Slayyyter because she has a genius mind. I'll be supporting all day till the day I die. Forever Slayyyter.

  3. Now in Charli's Boiler room she teased a song called Spring Breakers...

See how every time Slayyyter tries something, there's always girls ahead of her.

    Like...

Could be the album shifted much like Starfucker did. Like it went from Little Mermaid to Miami Vice lol.

It really seems like it was meant to be on Starfucker which honestly really could have sat better on the tracklist instead of Tear Me Open.

The last live of hers I watched she talked about how she would just drop songs if she could but the label wont let her and everything has to be scheduled out.

I bet if she didn't have to deal with this, the song would already be out, and so would things shes performed live before like Tommy.

I honestly never would have thought she'd be an artist that has so many good songs in her drafts.

    ARTISTS — FADER Label

No shade but I wonder who this team wants to invest in because I don't see any of these artists in a commercial spot.

  5. I remember her commenting a few months ago about the next album sounding more like a soundtrack from a tropical movie. Love To Make was clearly in that vein, I have no idea why she identified more with the sound of No Comma. Love To Make was a classic at the time it was recorded.

she's rating her leaked songs on tiktok live rn omggg

DANGEROUS STANS WE WON.... she said she might rework it and put it out. i used to pray for nights like this

Spill sis, we need to know everything.

    I can't believe I missed it...

And thinking about it, Sunshine and Dangerous kinda fit the current era...

  7. Love to Make... Wow... I can see that song followed by Swimming Pool.

Now I feel I could die any minute listening to a snippet and not having access to the whole song. Thanks, Slayyyter.

so sad she has the fanbase that she has, the comments on that live were really pissing me off.
hopefully the ayesha fans will go running back to her since she’s coming back to music apparently ??

but anywaysssss, i NEED an era with the pink hair i wish she didn’t debut it so soon :crai:

But that's the big leap. I imagine that the label doesn't always want to put Slayyyter's plans ahead of other artists on the same label, but from what I can see of Fader's catalog, our girl is the one with the best chance of breaking through the bubble and into the mainstream. They seem insecure in some elements, such as the method of promotion. Nowadays, participating in podcasts and youtube channels that talk about pop music is a good way to start. But I don't want to think yet that there's a gatekeeper above Slayyyter, we'll see.

  9. Last night, Slayyyter decided to open a live stream on tiktok to talk to some followers (I'm not going to say fans) while she sorted things out with NicoPop and during the time she decided to read some comments, some fans of other pop singers were giving Slayyyter a hard time and begging for a partnership that nobody cares about and that doesn't even make sense anymore on the level that they are artists who have different visions. She ended up asking them to stop begging for collaborations and some fan club portals and fans of other pop singers began to assume that Slayyyter was getting rid of other singers like Kim Petras.

And it's for this reason that Slayyyter has to deprive herself of being accessible to anyone on the internet, not just because of the status of a new artist on the scene, but because gays will do anything to pit women against each other, regardless of the reason. Of course, she already knew that this could happen because she's been fed up with the Ayesha story since 2020, but damn it, leave the girl alone. So what if she and other artists stopped following each other on social media?

  10. Honestly, I think that in the future, we deserve to win the initial era that Troubled Paradise promised. Sunshine, Talk To Me/Cream... An almost NuMetal era mixed with electronic. In 2026 we want Slayyyter with Creed-LinkinParky vibes.

its not really up to her, its more whether her label will let her release stuff. they were reluctant to even put out starfucker

I'm at a bit of a loss as to why the record company doesn't give Slayyyter the support it deserves. Why then do artists sign with labels that won't give them artistic freedom, especially artists who are obviously going to return a big investment?

  12. I hope that the new album for 2024 will be a remastered version of the mixtape, not only because she's bothered by the mixing and the vocals at the time, but also because today she has a more mature vision of how to make an album.

And if she's going to enter a new era too, I don't think it would be a bad thing for 2024 to be a start, if only to put some singles in the spotlight. I say that because Slayyyter isn't yet an artist that the public is willing to wait for like Rihanna or Beyoncé. She has to keep the momentum going, because then she has a better chance of continuing to appear on various music scenes. My wish for 2024 is that some DJ or mainstream artist manages to notice her in some way, a good example of which would be Lil Nas X.

    You won’t talk… to… me…

Not a single lie. But I can't deny that if Owen had a hand in the production of Troubled Paradise, Starfucker wouldn't be Slayyyter's best album.

the troubled paradise hate.. it’s her best

Not me using you guys to vent big feelings and thoughts about Slayyyter. A lot of the time I try to talk to my friends on Discord but they don't care as much as some of you for debate. So forgive me for the long texts...

Do you also feel that Troubled Paradise seems like a collection of singles? When she was talking during the pandemic in April 2020, when she was doing Instagram lives cooking salmon and sometimes having a few drinks, what she described about Troubled Paradise was totally different from what I personally envisioned it to be. When she mentioned reading Dante's Inferno, how she became interested in the journey of going to hell, understanding the sins, choosing who to save and how that influenced the writing, I even thought the aesthetic would serve something like Feed the Beast delivered. I don't know if the idea of using the album cover as a reference to her childhood was what she was thinking (literally a photo of the setting used in Clouds) but I was perhaps expecting something more medieval or Victorian.

PopCrave already posting about her "new era for 2024" makes me think this is going to be planned as a pretty big release for her.

As for robokid, he completely vanished off the internet after the accusations which doesn't exactly read as "innocent". He either changed his alias and still works in the industry behind the scenes or hes just gone-gone. Either way she clearly has a current production team that works for her as Starfucker and James Dean production is amazing.

But quite frankly if she doesn't care about Ayesha's controversies to work with her again then at that point do people really care about robokid credit considering he is literally non-existent now. I do wonder if she will have to navigate addressing working with Ayesha again IF she does.

I dont know exactly how music crediting works but, say they remaster the mixtape, can she just pull a "well legally we had to credit robokid but he didnt work on the remaster"

I hope you're right, it's past time for the big eyes of the industry to see Slayyyter's potential and what it can do. It's strange when I put our girl next to the others who have great help and don't have the hunger that Slayyyter has. Not to mention how they plasticize the dolls, which wouldn't be a problem for Slayyyter to double her breasts and make an hourglass waist.

About Robokid, that's the thing, during Slayyyter's time and their appearance on Eletronica, they made great demos, not only Sunshine, but Talk To Me/Cream, among others... Nothing prevents her from buying the rights to the songs and taking what they created together from him, because by logic, if she participated, she wouldn't have his direct involvement like others who sign contracts and let those accused of harassment sign their songs.

In my opinion, I don't care about Ayesha. No shade but Ayesha is limited. I'm not going to get into a big argument about it, she's good at what she does but she only fits into one type of music. Which isn't a bad thing, but I don't think that, at the moment, it matches what Slayyyter in 2024 might want.

i was also wondering about this, i have no idea so dont jump me, but i read somewhere that apparently the accusations against him were fake?

I remember it very faintly. If memory serves, he proved he hadn't done what he was accused of and decided to hide from social media. I also think he must have felt very bad because Slayyyter was on the verge of a new musical release, world tour and new partnerships and by chance she met new people who filled his position.

i would love a remaster of her mixtape but there's 2 problems

    1. the ego sample in candy, fader probably wouldnt clear it

    2. robokid being credited as a writer on 98% of the mixtape

Slayyyter is an artist who is both an idol and a fan. Not in the egocentric sense in which she can't see anything but herself, but she knows exactly what pop culture lovers want to see in a pop singer. From Troubled Paradise to Starfucker, there was not only a huge musical leap, but also a huge build-up of confidence.

What the Mixtape lacked was that confidence, not just because she recorded with a group of people new to creating music, but in her own vocal range. She seems to feel that she has something to prove and what the Mixtape can also be.

Please Cathy give us Ghhhosttt on Mixtape 2!!! The intro and beat on the chorus is sick it just needs built upon with more bridge and production changes a.... third time. :w8ing:

In all seriousness, after the wait between Troubled Paradise and Starfucker I cant believe shes already dropping clues for the next 'era' whatever that may be.

I doubted her at the beginning of Starfucker era that she could not pull it off and she absolutely proved everyone wrong so I trust her.

Idk I'd feel bad though if I just dropped a fantastic album and then everyone in my twitter replies was like "omg you're going back to the mixtape!"

I'm just hoping that whatever it is, rather it be reproduction of previous tracks, a deluxe version, or a "sequel" album, that its with that same artistic development as Starfucker and not because she feels like she needs to cave in to the demands of going back to the mixtape look / sound.

To me it seems the remastered version of mixtape with a couple of singles that was left on the final tracklist such as Hello Kitty, I'm High and Swimming Pool. That would be great because the vocals in Devil, Ur Man, Tattoo and Touch My Body is... something... She's virgo, there's no way she wouldn't reworked all the songs...

And honestly I wouldn't mind either if she do the same with Troubled Paradise. Villain is insulting.
