  1. Does anyone know how much promotion Lana did for BTD as opposed to UV and HM?

I know she definitely did more TV appearances - thanks for the info @ - and she cancelled shows during UV? But what else? I know she had more exposure because of VG. And had more upmarket mag covers etc.

    TIA

I think I remember her promoting as much (maybe not AS much) as Sam Smith promoted for his 1st album.

  2. HM = Paradise/BTD > Ultraviolence

There's just no filler song for me in HM except for maybe 1 or 2 songs. Paradise and BTD I just cut in half because I like half of the songs on BTD and don't really use the other half much. Same goes for Paradise. Ultraviolence I just don't use anymore.. :( It's kind of like the opposite of Honeymoon for me where instead of disliking only 1 or 2 songs, I only LIKE 1 or 2 songs.

  3. I definitely like her stage more this time than in her older tours where her stage looked lazy and it's either clean plain or messy with all the wires. Even her Glastonbury stage could've been better. Now her stage looks real professional, clean but definitely not boring, and doesn't look like she's gonna trip over wires or some stuff in the floor..

The only thing I miss are her classy looking dresses/big hair though. But if she's more comfortable performing in her new breezy dresses then I'm all for it. Atleast she's keeping her beautiful make-up style and lashes.

Also, here's one, but he/she only has two videos uploaded for now.

  4. If this is her first single. Maybe it's cause everyone seems to like her ballads so much(Old Money being requested during her concerts) more than her upbeat stuff/nonballad ones? The more I listen to it the more I love how it sounds like Old Money.

IDK but I think if Life is Beautiful was an unreleased song, us fans would prolly go gaga over it and want it to be on an album. Same if Angels Forever(one of her fan fav unreleased songs) was a soundtrack song/on an album, the fans would find it boring/repetitive like Big Eyes instead.

  5. So there is a new Lana song that was made because she was inspired by The Age of Ultron, but the song isn't actually for the film or on the soundtrack, it's just featured in a trailer, and the song might be on Honeymoon, but probably isn't an actual single.

    So basically it's a fucking mess :smokes3:

Maybe they thought it would be good for both parties. LIB helps promote AgeofAdaline since it was inspired by it anyway, while LIB/Honeymoon gets enough ears and attention from both Lana fans and AgeofAdaline fans and non lana fans who watched the trailer when it comes out as it's first single or something? Does it grab more attention in the US if the song was teased as a part of a big movie? Or does it grab more attention when you just release it on youtube/radio? Maybe Lana and her team thought her soundtrack songs(maleficent, great gatsby) are getting more popular than her album ones(UV) so why not release a teaser as if she made another soundtrack when i fact it's part of the album so more people will hear of it and buy the album.

Maybe the headline "Lana Del Rey has made yet another soundtrack for X movie" works better than "Lana Del Rey released her new song"?

If that's what she's doing, it's working cause she got on all the music blogs making it seem like the song's part of the movie.

  6. TBH I would love it if it was a Honeymoon song. Unless all 12(?) songs on the album is better than Life is Beatiful. I would hate to not be able to hear the full version forever while there's 1 song on the Honeymoon album I don't like that it could've replaced.

If LIB is anything Honeymoon sounds like. Then I'm all for it! It sounds like an album full of movie soundtracks inspired instrumentals. Magical harps and strings etc. I don't think I'll like it as the first single tho. Maybe a promotional single or the album opener.

  7. Excuse me for my ignorance but. Can anyone tell me how the video's(atleast Lana's scene) considered "pro-rape"? I mean I kind of felt bad for Lana and her character during the scene and wanted to kill the guy. So I don't see it as glamorizing rape cause I myself didn't feel the video was "hot". If anything, we were meant to feel sorry for the girl.

The only glamorous thing I saw was the camera angles and HD'ness, slow-motion effects and stuff but not the rape scene.

    Can anyone enlighten me? :)

  8. The video would kinda work for a filler track ie. Sad Girl. But Ultraviolence is not a filler track - it's possibly the most important track on the record (especially due to it being the title track). As such, it deserved something epic and at least a monologue.

    This^

I agree! It's the song that non-Lana fans would first listen to since it's the Title track. Like how Born to Die is one of her most famous MV. It's the title track so people assume it's the 'best' song on the album. And usually they go to YT first. But I guess Lana doesn't really care much about 'gaining' fans anymore. She's more focused on taking care of the fans she already has.

  9. It's a actually pretty easy to create a storyline for UV. So maybe Lana's running out of "Lana ideas". I mean I can easily see a cheesy but not boring vision for the bridge of the song. She's dying and the man is regretting that he was violent towards her and now shes on the verge of dying while the song "I love you the first time etc." is going on. It would make the song iconic for alot of people just cause of that cheesy emotional scene. Casual fans like cheesy scenes anyways. But Lana's never really had any obvious story in any of her videos. Like Katy Perry's "The one that got away." Almost all of Lana's videos need your imagination and we all have different interpretations for it. So maybe Lana's running out of ideas like THAT.
