Lana was definitely in her true crime podcast era in 2022 when she created Candy Necklace (Black Dahlia) and Zodiac (Gilgo Four)

    Forensic Files wasn't on

  2. I always thought Lasso was the continuation of American Standards and Classics, but what if it has nothing to do with that at all and is instead a revival of the mysterious Rock Candy Sweet? :puzzled:

It was strange when she announced this title shortly after the release of Chemtrails for June and then suddenly changed the date and title. It was the same time she split up with her ex Clayton. We never saw the Blue Banisters video of which she showed us a short clip with him.

So maybe RCS had some co-worked songs with him and one could have been Tough or a predecessor. We also know that he created the trap beats for The Trio.

If my theory is correct, we could perhaps expect Loved You Then and Now and some other rumoured outtakes from BB on the album.

Of the songs we’ve heard/know of (Henry, Tough, that Mirror snippet) I don’t get a very strong country vibe. Matched with the aesthetic we’re seeing.

If anything I’m getting Lust for Life with a slightly more Midwestern/Southern gothic twist

    some call it country rap/trap

the fact that Clayton is involved ... the song possibly has its roots in the early 2020s when they were together

maybe it's a discarded song from Chemtrails or Blue Banisters or it was meant for Rock Candy Sweet, who knows

So, what Billboard 100 spot do we predict this will debut at?

I predict not as high as Snow on the Beach (4) but higher than Say Yes to Heaven (#54). So, like 30 sth. spot?

Quavo/Migos have a big base + Lana has a big base + it's been teased so long + it's a bop + there's a music video...  First week numbers should be good.

But then the marketing was lackluster

I'm optimistic and say at least top 10 (the song is already stuck in my head)

I don't think it will be a chart hit (and to be honest I have really never cared about charts) but I hope I'm proven wrong. Has Quavo's songs charted? Because I don't think that it will be bigger than Say Yes To Heaven or Love or High By The Beach. Idk, the promo has been weird. But has Quavo charted solo, like without Migos?

he had a number 1 hit with I'm the One in 2017 and some more top 10 songs, all in featurings

Okay the song is 100% for Quavo's album cause quavo.lnk.to/tough exists and lana.lnk.to/tough doesn't :icant:

Either way she teased that amazing intro the other day so the album is still coming :true: but it's going to sound WAY different from what we expected cause it looks like she obliterated any trace of country from it :hide:

it could just be a standalone single. quavo released his last album in august last year, so I don't know if the next album is coming so soon.

and lana's team might be slower at creating the link. remember, they've both double posted on insta three times now.
