Based on what BoZ said it sounds like a lot of the songs don’t have a conventional structure. Also with so many of them being so long I can see that as changing the game, I feel like many songs are short these days because people have short attention spans :toofunny:

SZA already upped the game on this most of her songs are 4 minutes, I think 4 minutes is the limit cause more gets boring.

I’m not sure how exactly, the music may be great, but what is she doing that is vastly different?? Tunnel is good song but it’s not in a different realm to what she’s done before..she’s changed a few things up and added some production not started a new movement.  So I’m really curious what he means, perhaps the rest of the album is really wild in comparison.

yeah the new song was classic 2020 Lana, it couldve been on any of the recent albums.

you just press play and enjoy the music…

at the end of the day, listening to a song doesn’t hurt anyone. & choosing NOT to listen to a song because of people involved in its creation does not make you better than someone that does… not referring directly to you, i just see a lot of that attitude in this thread.

downloading / streaming her music isn’t what is keeping his lights on tbh. it really doesn’t make a difference (as in, his career is going to continue regardless) and really just comes down to the ability to separate art from artist, or the desire to even care to begin with. it’s just music!!! :)

I hate the way ppl will be fine with listening to music made by FELONS then get mad at ppl for separating the artist and their music..

You're right, it's scary to think that Lana's legacy could be West Coast(Sped-Up) and Meet me in the Pale Moonlight:bebe:

i also dont want it to be a random song made by jack antonoff that could be sung by any of the alt girls and sound like thiers. There's a reason everyone goes back to UV and BTD, they were unique and no one could sing them like Lana did.

  5. YALL remember when Doin' time was playing EVERYWHERE. 2019 was soo good.

2020s was an easier way of saying late 2010s-early 2020s, but Melodrama? NFR? several of Taylor’s albums? The new 1975 record, which I actually just have a feeling is going to become a cult classic a while from now? Clairo? Masseduction? he’s all over pop music, so much so that his sound is going to be what defines late 2010s-early 2020s pop music decades from now, that’s just kind of a fact. it’s the same way Max Martin defined pop music 10 years ago

Lorde, The 1975s and Taylor are all early 2010s.

the thing about Jack is that, yes, while I do get annoyed that he is kind of making everyone in popular music sound the same, I actually think it could be cementing all of their legacies as well. not just because the music is good, but he’s literally crafting the 2020s sound. like 40 years from now, because jack’s production style is everywhere yet still so unique and distinct, people are going to look back at this time period in music and know it’s from right now in the same way we can listen to an 80s song now and immediately know it’s from the 80s. and i don’t think that’s a bad thing at all, it’s going to make the artists he’s worked with more iconic once they become legacy acts

nahh cause jack isn't all that I doubt the albums he made will define the 2020's. Lttr the music cycles too fast most ppl outside the Lana stans forgot about BB and COCC, and Solar power lowkey died in a few months.

It’s taboo because you can separate the art from the artist but you can’t separate the artists’ willingness to create with the same Devil you speak of. How do you separate one of the most integral parts of her “career”, the man who makes all of the music, from the actual songs? How?

Its a song chill. The song didnt do the actions..
