  1. i’m obviously not the first one to say it, but i just heard the lfl demo and lfl final alongside, and it’s insane how lana butchered the demo lol. it was such a beautiful, mysterious energy song, and it seems like they tried everything to commercialise it. so many parts of the production are so unnecessary, the whole upbeat arrangement and her “shut up shut up” vocals in the background. there’s so much it literally starts to sound like a mess. and the weeknd feature was so unnecessary too i hate it, i don’t like his voice in the first place, but especially i hate it in that song. but i do have to say that there are few elements and stems that could be brought to the demo to make it more “lively”, like the bells, and i guess synths (?) that sound like they’re falling down, these are something i really love about the final. but the rest is just too much
  2. nahh, don’t compare that ass margaret is to songs that are actually great, like tomorrow never came or god bless america, at least they have some nice flow and instrumentation, and margaret is just

  5. my suggestion is to get that shit out edit: i didn’t notice this post is from 2021 i’m sorry 😭 just randomly found myself on that page and thought it was recent posts
  6. my personal fav could be side b - candy necklace; fingertips; kintsugi, these are so good. but then there are interludes which are some of my least liked material on the album, especially that fucking pastor interlude. then there’s side a - which is nice, it has title track and a&w which are really good, but the grants and sweet don’t stand out for me. on side c, i really love let the light in, paris texas is nice but i’m less crazy about it, and i’m just okay with grandfather, not one of my faves although it’s not terrible. side d is more experimental and trap influenced, which isn’t necessarily my thing, but i still enjoy songs on it, EXCEPT for margaret, which is the worst song lana has ever released in my opinion. to sum up - personally i can’t tell which side is my favourite, because each has things i really like and dislike about it
  7. when did lana say fingertips isn’t a good song? i remember she said the voice memos were unlistenable and rough, but did she say anything bad about the final? i thought she liked it
  8. WHAT THE FUCK WHY WAIT FOR LIFE GOT REMOVED FROM SPOTIFY

  12. ahh i love this!! thank you so much for doing it! here are mine:
  13. people often criticise drew’s production, but on this album, personally i think his work is better than jack’s in some cases: like if you compare fingertips and kintsugi: both songs with lana’s innermost thoughts and untypical song structures, one produced by drew and one by jack, i think drew did it better. kintsugi has some nice production elements like the whistle, but to me it sounds a bit dull, whereas fingertips has this beautiful orchestral arrangement throughout the whole song. i like both songs, but for me fingertips was love from the first listen, and i had to take some time to warm up to kintsugi with ‘love songs’ (and also least liked songs) of the album: sweet and margaret, i prefer sweet more than margaret (which possibly is unpopular opinion?). i just really dislike production on margaret, especially that “if you know, you know” part, it reminds me of taylor swift music and sweet, whereas is not the strongest song of the album, it has a very pleasant and cinematic feel, which feels more ‘lana del rey’ to me, and suits her better than jack’s production (at least on margaret) and songs with, i guess more conventional song structure: grandfather and let the light in; i prefer let the light in much more than grandfather. because although grandfather has some parts that i like, the production reminds me of taylor swift music again.. and let the light in is honestly one of the best songs lana has released recently, it feels so fresh, and has the same fun and warm feeling that unidentified flying bill has however, i’m not hating on jack’s production overall, like it’s shit. a&w is very innovative, i like production on interludes, and even with the songs i like less, i don’t think they’re genuinely terrible. i just wanted to show this contrast to show why i prefer drew’s production in some cases
  14. you’ve been acting pretty restless acting like the young and restless and i’m obsessed with it candy necklaces
  15. i would die if she covered alison by slowdive
  16. this is going to be very controversial take, but almost all of ultraviolence (except black beauty, old money, and sometimes cruel world + ‘crying tears of gold like lemonade’ part from title track). i used to love that album and all, but i think i simply outgrew its aesthetic and themes, and i don’t feel really rooted in its melodies either. and lyrical content in many of these songs isn’t really that good (edit) and the same with paradise, i can’t listen to songs other than bel air and yayo. and i hate dark paradise and this is what makes us girls from btd, overall i don’t really listen to born to die either (seems like i’m just not into lana’s early discography anymore, lol). and also cherry, i don’t dislike it but i think it’s way too overhyped (edit 2) and summer bummer too, simply because i hate it and i don’t really like listening to doin time for the same reason as cherry. ok that’s all i think sorry for those edits
  17. i agree with this!! 😭 i always keep seeing people getting very excited towards that song but i feel nothing when i play it, i think it’s still a good song and all and i used to get very excited about it too, but it just doesn’t hit the same spot anymore
