the grammys will ignore literally anything :toofunny: there is absolutely no reasoning or pattern to what they choose to nominate, after hours was critically acclaimed with the biggest song in billboard history on it and it got 0 noms. but yes brat aoty :charli:

I heard he didn't submit it for consideration. He hasn't been submitting his albums for a while.

Charli might be able to get some industry pull this time around especially given the extremely positive critical reception of the album and more artists crediting her as an inspiration or praising her music.

If she can land a summer charting hit (*cough* Talk talk *cough*) she has a serious chance.

I can see them also submitting it for dance/electronic aoty although with Justice's album that would be a very tough competition. And there's that album by a certain someone who is not wanted backstage at George's shows. I'm sure the Grammys won't be all about glazing that album...

  2. Okay so I was thinking about that video she teased that was inspired by the Smack My Bitch Up video

I think that might be the 365 video. The song is pure debauchery and would work great with the video aesthetic and vibe

idk in my head i am picturing something like that scene in russian doll where nadia is going on a bender... does anyone know what i'm talking about?

i think its just a deluxe with a quirky name and the next project will just be a remix album and it won't be in that aesthetic anymore because it'd be too predictable at this point

but "the Brat remix album with [and she names every single collaborator]" would be too iconic though

Seriously though I think it will end up being called "The BRAT remix album" and have a yellow cover.

I wouldn't think of it as being "predictable" as much as previously set up by her.

Honestly, my only complaint is the ordering of the tracks. 365 is her best closer so I feel like either the deluxe tracks had to come just before it or be interspersed within the record. And yeah yeah, I know, low effort or whatever, but it would have made the deluxe even better.

But the deluxe songs were left out from the album for a reason. Why would they then be added throughout the album? They are just bonus songs.

They're great, but they don't serve the flow or narrative in the album. In fact they are departures from the themes on the album. Maybe with the exception of spring breakers which could fit lyrically but I guess she chose Von Dutch over it cz it would've been redundant to have both.

I hope the deluxe tracks will get a remix to, if we're already getting 15 remixes, what's 3 more?

I don't think the remix album will have remixes of every song on the original. That would be great but I doubt it. There might be multiple remixes of the same song the way there were on Tree of Clues by 100 gecs. I think that Guess is a solid contender for a remix but I doubt that Spring Breakers will get one.

okay i listened to the longer 365 clip and yeah that's soty no matter what version :defeated: also it sounds verrrry gesaffelstein are we sure he's not on it

the beat is NASTYYY i love it!!! Could also be HudMo btw his last album had similar synths. I feel like EASYFUN/George might be on this as well. Maybe Gesaffelstein but it seems like people are saying he's not on here

everyone pretend like you dont care about the remix album so that it actually becomes existent and comes quick :makeup2:

I can't. And she's not letting me pretend.

She's teasing more remixes than OG songs this era it's giving me life

i like that the 360 remix is a fully dif song, but i wish it had at least one lyric in common with the original like the VD remix (i'm just living that life, etc)

not exactly but she stuck to the like photoshoot motif in the lyrics like the "lights, camera, action"

if she does boys or even like unlock it during her already shortened set on the Sweat tour its gonna be rough a great bathroom break! also I don't want shygirl performing 365 with her on the tour like I know the studio remix is gonna go awf but if I have one chance to hear that song live it better be the canonized version :true: shits gonna be otherworldly either way tho

I think that will depend on what version she will play

given each song will have 2 versions some shows might get original and some will get unreleased remixes

but it makes sense that the shygirl shows will have the remix

I might prefer the boiler room remix I fear :omg:

Yeah the album versions are all sounding great but something about those high-energy remixes :sluttybunny:

I feel like Charli is trying hard to make The Dare happen…I mean I like his music to an extent and he’s fun but it feels like he’s being pushed as if he’s this genius that has more than 4 songs released.

also does no one else think he stole his look from the brother in The Princess Diaries???

    I don't think it's a push

he fits the aesthetic of this era

i bet it's hard to keep getting george and ag and others' schedules to work for little parties she's doing to promote the album and having the dare on her side works out great for both of them

also that song they teased is so nasty and insane i'm living for it

  16. 4 minutes ago, bippelle said:

The Dare track doesn't really fit with the names of the unheard tracks left on the tracklist, I'm calling it Pretty In Pink. This era's Hot In It maybe?

yeah I don't think it's an album song either. I just love that it's part of this era now

There's a 360 'remix' feat. Robyn and Yung Lean that is basically a different song

don't fuck with me cz yung lean would sound amazing on 360

I think it will be very club just not in the way von dutch had us believe

we misread what von dutch was trying to put forward i think

we thought we are getting a lot of heavy edm and high-octane songs with touches of pc music in there (rightfully so after the boiler room set)

what it was actually trying to show us is indie sleaze / early 2010s club music with touches of ed banger and pc music

club classics works more in that context

b2b with the heavy gesaffelstein synths and super repetitive hook kinda splits the difference

but with the 360 teaser it seems more likely it's sweaty bratty indie sleaze she's going for

knowing she's friends with the dare he probably influenced the sound of this album a lot

doss is another name that comes to mind

really the new york club scene that's been buzzing lately

I agree with everything you say. But not the "indie sleaze" wording.

You got the Ed banger vibe right but that's not indie sleaze. Charlis going Bloghouse honey.

Indie sleaze is more Ok Go, Passion Pit, Gossip ect. Take it from me, an old gay who was there 😂😂

I'll take that correction. I won't pretend to be an expert on this. I can still see some parallels. Maybe Bloghouse and Indie Sleaze borrow from each other a little stylistically?

I was mostly basing it on the similarities to The Dare's music. I can hear some of that in Von Dutch.

This. I genuinely think the album will be an amazing body of work, I just think it's been heavily misbranded from what we've been hearing from the singles vs. what she is saying the album is and what we were shown following von dutch through the remixes

However, I haven't heard the whole album so I could change my opinion on it not being very club :flutter:

Yall better not be hating on Brat when these remix album theories end up not coming true because I will not stand for the slander of this great body of work

I won't hate on it if it's great and the singles all point to it being great

but i would def be hating if the remixes we've heard don't get released that would be a tragedy

even if there isn't a whole "remix album"

a lot of you are really hung up on the entire "club record" thing and i dont get what your expectations were exactly

club record still coming i think

it's just not the one coming out June 7

the boiler room teasers and the djs playing their remixes of unreleased charli songs in their sets (I'm talking about people like hudmo and skream and umru not the boiler room sets)...

it all points at a remix album

i mean when they're playing remixes of songs that won't even be singles

i don't see why else all these versions are being floated by her and her producers if not for that

+++ I also think that it was a smart move artistically

cz I'm imagining if the released singles were the boiler room versions, yes we would eat them up cz they're bangers, but they are so incredibly remix-coded that the producers attached to each remix would actually be carrying the album

i love that the singles we are getting are allowing charli to shine

she takes the club influences and motifs but presents them in her way, and the other versions can be released as gifts for the fans
