I might prefer the boiler room remix I fear :omg:

Yeah the album versions are all sounding great but something about those high-energy remixes :sluttybunny:

I feel like Charli is trying hard to make The Dare happen…I mean I like his music to an extent and he’s fun but it feels like he’s being pushed as if he’s this genius that has more than 4 songs released.

also does no one else think he stole his look from the brother in The Princess Diaries???

    I don't think it's a push

he fits the aesthetic of this era

i bet it's hard to keep getting george and ag and others' schedules to work for little parties she's doing to promote the album and having the dare on her side works out great for both of them

also that song they teased is so nasty and insane i'm living for it

The Dare track doesn't really fit with the names of the unheard tracks left on the tracklist, I'm calling it Pretty In Pink. This era's Hot In It maybe?

yeah I don't think it's an album song either. I just love that it's part of this era now

There's a 360 'remix' feat. Robyn and Yung Lean that is basically a different song

don't fuck with me cz yung lean would sound amazing on 360

They teased a song that sounds like it's definitely a collab

I think it will be very club just not in the way von dutch had us believe

we misread what von dutch was trying to put forward i think

we thought we are getting a lot of heavy edm and high-octane songs with touches of pc music in there (rightfully so after the boiler room set)

what it was actually trying to show us is indie sleaze / early 2010s club music with touches of ed banger and pc music

club classics works more in that context

b2b with the heavy gesaffelstein synths and super repetitive hook kinda splits the difference

but with the 360 teaser it seems more likely it's sweaty bratty indie sleaze she's going for

knowing she's friends with the dare he probably influenced the sound of this album a lot

doss is another name that comes to mind

really the new york club scene that's been buzzing lately

I agree with everything you say. But not the "indie sleaze" wording.

You got the Ed banger vibe right but that's not indie sleaze. Charlis going Bloghouse honey.

Indie sleaze is more Ok Go, Passion Pit, Gossip ect. Take it from me, an old gay who was there 😂😂

I'll take that correction. I won't pretend to be an expert on this. I can still see some parallels. Maybe Bloghouse and Indie Sleaze borrow from each other a little stylistically?

I was mostly basing it on the similarities to The Dare's music. I can hear some of that in Von Dutch.

This. I genuinely think the album will be an amazing body of work, I just think it's been heavily misbranded from what we've been hearing from the singles vs. what she is saying the album is and what we were shown following von dutch through the remixes

However, I haven't heard the whole album so I could change my opinion on it not being very club :flutter:

Yall better not be hating on Brat when these remix album theories end up not coming true because I will not stand for the slander of this great body of work

I won't hate on it if it's great and the singles all point to it being great

but i would def be hating if the remixes we've heard don't get released that would be a tragedy

even if there isn't a whole "remix album"

a lot of you are really hung up on the entire "club record" thing and i dont get what your expectations were exactly

club record still coming i think

it's just not the one coming out June 7

the boiler room teasers and the djs playing their remixes of unreleased charli songs in their sets (I'm talking about people like hudmo and skream and umru not the boiler room sets)...

it all points at a remix album

i mean when they're playing remixes of songs that won't even be singles

i don't see why else all these versions are being floated by her and her producers if not for that

+++ I also think that it was a smart move artistically

cz I'm imagining if the released singles were the boiler room versions, yes we would eat them up cz they're bangers, but they are so incredibly remix-coded that the producers attached to each remix would actually be carrying the album

i love that the singles we are getting are allowing charli to shine

she takes the club influences and motifs but presents them in her way, and the other versions can be released as gifts for the fans

someone on atrl who has heard the album said this:

been listening to this recently and I kind of take back my initial comment about the album?

I still stand by what I said of her catfishing everyone into believing this is some sort of clubby rave non-stop bops record because it's not, but it's actually pretty cute for what it is (sans a few songs)

I think my main problem was that as she once was my fav artist, separating the music from the insufferable persona she's adopted in the past year was quite hard :rip: it's a nice pop album with disposable bops, but seeing her treat it like some sort of never-done-before opus definitely set my expectations way too high

    and on 360:

Von Dutch would be a fantastic opener tbh, 360 isn't bad lemme get that out the way, it's just a cute middle of the album bop, lowkey reminiscent of the XCX World album tracks

Holding on to the hope of a remix album coming not so long after... although I am still loving every release and teaser I've heard so far.

  11. Club classics remix pack this week? next week?

club classics / Rush mashup from the tour teaser sounds like it could be released unironically to promote the tour. I liked the audio from that teaser a lot.

And maybe we get the first release from the Boiler Room set with the George Daniel remix? Cc nrg?

  12. Theory time:

The second track on every disc on Britpop is a Charli song.

We already have Britpop on disc 1.

Lucifer seems to be the track in the Britpop teaser, that's disc 3.

This leaves Nice To Meet You on disc 2.

no way this is the album cover right? when will the album cover be released wtf

    yeah but it is though

  14. Troye's instagram stories seem to hint at a joint tour (like everyone here has been talking about for weeks).

It would be disappointing to announce a joint tour without a little collab. Also maybe surprise Coachella weekend 2 performance?

((would be hilarious if they started misspelling some promo billboards as "Charlie & Troy"))

I honestly wouldn't call them teasers. She's pumping this club/rave vibe hard. Releasing instrumentals of tracks gives DJs an easier time to do mixes and mashups, so I think of it more as a fun nod to that more than anything, as opposed to "teasing" anything upcoming.

Yeah that makes sense too, but in that case why wasn't the von dutch instrumental included? And why release instrumentals before the song is even out?

I think it was more of a promotional thing and the cc/b2b vinyl will have teasers from what is coming next: the remix album. The teaser could be an instrumental now that I think of it, just not for any of the songs on brat.

the production on this one is giving me salute vibes! (iykyk) I think salute would be a great choice for collaborator on this album.

(could just be easyfun x george though)

edit: I was trying to quote someone mentioning Talk Talk.

    nvm lol

it's a hudmo x AG production and what we heard in boiler room was george's edit (but i guess you all know that now cz charli posted it)

ugh why is the club classics / b2b 7" only available w the album... i already pre-ordered the 360_brat picture disc and translucent black

I think the 2 secret tracks might be edits of album tracks that aren't released yet. she probably wants to delay any leaks.

On 4/3/2024 at 9:02 PM, VegaXCX said:

The reason I asked is because we got one remix and one instrumental edit and the instrumental edit was for the next single. So idk if she’ll follow that formula.

I doubt it would include another instrumental teaser given that vinyl won't release until the album does.

while I haven't heard the full le@k so my opinion isn't really valid from the 360_brat snippet and and the ?????/edit track I feel like El Guincho could have some potential involvement on the track as well

maybe. im not very familiar with him aside from rosalia who doesnt have songs in this style

i just need the other version though like i wonder how long until we start getting the remixes for this album
