NOTE ABOUT BILLBOARD'S TRACKING- albums were changed to Friday for the universal release date HOWEVER and this is important- Songs are still using the same tracking days as prior. Songs/singles are not on the Friday schedule only albums (but Billboard will still only release the official charts Tuesday morning for all forms of music). Some posters in the last few pages have gotten that info wrong.

I am very impressed with the photo and the perspective of the yacht/model. Bravo to Chuck.

akaLizzygrant- as said in a prior post- Burnt Norton is the name of a home/mansion and it's in the same way Skyfall was the name of James Bond's old home in SKyfall (with the theme sung by Adele) It was turned to ruins during the WW (note that somewhat also connects Ultraviolence's video with Honeymoon. If Burnt Norton were where the bride in the video was singing -

Universal release dates for new records are now Fridays. So that means Fridays are as follows :September 4-11-18-25 Oct. 2-9-16-23-30 The new CBS Late Night with Steve Colbert show starts Sept. 8 (If there is one live US TV show she does, this is the one. I don't see her doing anything on NBC ever again. Not with the way she was abused by Brian Williams and his tweets. And everyone in the US is going to be watching Late Night with Colbert when it starts. A look at the upcoming record release schedule shows there are more unknown release dates for other superstars and everyone has to get their own debut week so each has a clear run at #1. (Like movies in the US, record companies plan around each other to not stand in the way. Though not all always keep to the honorable thing.) So there are 9 Fridays in Sept./Oct. but most likely it wouldn't be Labor Day weekend, and the weekend Gomez releases hers (though its not a sure thing Gomez would debut at #1, but assuming so, it's down to 7 and there is Rihanna and Britney. Rihanna will probably spend a few weeks at #1, so it should be before hers. Possible other albums still to come in the fall- Chris Brown, Ariana Grande, Maclemore, Kanye Fleetwood Mac & Rod Stewart (though it's unknown whether the last 4 are big enough to seriously be instant #1s, they would be definite top 10s). Then there would also be unexpected releases from Superstars. If it were me, release it officially Friday 12:01am Sept. 11 with an appearance on CBS's Late night with Colbert Thursday Sept. 10, put it out later that night at Midnight everywhere. -
Great place to get married and Honeymoon. She should go for it.

It would be one thing is some here were talking about Billy Joel NO (that's ZERO) new songs in 22 years now, with none at any time soon No touring for years and only because he is such a bad business person and went bankrupt a few times, does he lazily now do one show a month at Madison Square garden seemingly forever, and basically playing to the same 18,000 fans with money each month. Nothing wrong with it But Lana has released albums every year (and for all intents Paradise is and should have been a separate album, and when people say Born to Die sold so much, some of those sales were because the same person bought another copy of BTD when buying the deluxe Paradise (they count the same) Meanwhile, streaming is what people do now, and not physical cds (Lana has had 3 big selling vinyl in a row) and Lana is one of the most streamed artists in the world Though some would want her to be Selena Gomez, the simple question is WHY??? BTW, the head of her record company just got another 5 year deal, and he thought enough of Lana to be pictured on Billboard seated with her and Kanye. He knew that no one wanted to see his sorry face but wanted people to buy the magazine so he personally picked Lana for that. Meanwhile Lana can go on vacation and if she wants no publicity, can just go and have fun If she wants publicity, she lets the paparazzi know and they photograph her It's her CHOICE. and for all people complain about this or that, the video for Ultraviolence IMHO was great, stylish, and set-up Honeymoon perfectly. Honeymoon could have been an EP for Ultraviolence. I am happy its a new stand alone. As Paradise should be. And what are era's anyhow? I call them chapters. In a book that won't ever have a final chapter, Honeymoon is just the latest chapter. As Rick Nelson said about all the people complaining about a show he did in Madison Square Garden when it seemed the audience only wanted to see Ricky Nelson, his teenage self and not the current day Rick Nelson, he wrote Garden Party with the immortal line "Seems you can't please everyone, so you, gotta please yourself" (RIP Rick Nelson). -

I notice in the LAX video, that every single person in the airport knew who she was, unlike in older airport videos/photos where it seemed like no one knew. These days, one doesn't even need a record company, and Lana, witness the 350 songs, most of which are not on records, many of which her supporters know about anyhow and can access. Great artists paint. (sing, write, live) People whose lives depend on great artists to put food on their own table sell things to justify their own life but without the artist, all those people are nothing at all. But the artists work stand regardless BTW- Lana is probably (shudder to think what the negative nelly's and ned's and Debbie downers would say) going somewhere to do publicity or interview or something for Honeymoon. Or maybe yesterday she finished the last song and is justifiably going on vacation. Life is short. Hope she had a safe flight, and does whatever it is she wants to do and only listens to postiives and no negatives. -
If one looks at Nina's youtubes and read the comments, one would see Lana covering Nina has increased Nina's totals in an amazing number. One would think most of Lana's younger fans never heard of Nina and never would have found her videos until Lana did her songs Which leads Nina to have new younger fans, who will go and purchase Nina's music and keep Nina immortal to a whole new generation (Lana brought me here you see all over the comments) What could be bigger than getting Nina Simone a new generation of fans, and perhaps, entry into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame. Same as how many kids looked into who in the world Lou Reed or Leonard Cohen or Walt Whitman or T.S. Eliot are. as for politics, Lana being so into science is very political. (being that in the US, most of the Republican party insists that there is no science at all, and all is a lie). etc.

There might not be any single prior to the album release. That way the built up anticipation will lead to only complete downloads and album sales, and with each song counting more, the total number of sales will increase for that first week chart. Not to mention, speaking of psychedelia, Sgt. Peppers did not have any singles at all. And if the album is going to come out suddenly this makes even more sense. Also, as Lana is not going for singles or radio play, and wants everyone to hear the entire album from cut 1 to the least cut (is it 13?) making people buy the entire package is the way to go for what looks to be another concept album. what's the old cliché? Good things come to those that wait -
I hope that it's at a red light and that Rob isn't driving and taking photos at the same time

as for the name- Burnt Norton, if not mistaken, is the name of a residence, in England, much like Skyfall was the boyhood residence of James Bond (which one doesn't find out til the end of the most recent movie). Eliot is very stream of conscious (much like Lana).

How cool is that. Keefus Ciancia, an old pal and session man for T-Bone, and last superbowl time he was the producer of Jeff Bridges Sleep Tapes (music to relax when going to sleep) This is really cool. And a writing credit to T.S. Eliot. (this way the negative nellies won't be able to say she copied it, like the morons who didn't realize she gave credit to Nino Rota for Old Money) edit to add- by the way, this puts Lana in the circle of the movie directors The Coen Brothers whom Keefus has worked with. and who are known for some unique movies. Makes it a really good connection imho

Lana should do the Spoken audio book of this and that would be an easy way to get a Grammy award for BEST SPOKEN WORD as James Franco was nominated last year for his latest book Actors Anonymous (and award like that is somewhat like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck winning their's for something other than acting. A grammy is a grammy, an Oscar is an Oscar

James Franco is in many ways the male Lana Del Rey (as he says without the voice). Read his book from a few years ago, of short stories- Palo Alto and then you can clearly picture what this book is. I just recently read it, and damn if Lana's music (the songs from prior to when he wrote it) seemed to have been running in the background. And the characters in the stories, while fictional I could easily picture both James and Lana portraying ones in many of the stories While it is fictional, it is so vivid and real, it jumps to real life. He could just have easily named the characters after people named in Lana songs Really surprisingly great writer. (along with actor). I have said in earlier posts, one day I believe Lana will get an Oscar from collaborating with James possibly in a writer/producer/director role. perhaps for a short But all you guys should read Palo Alto and then come back and comment again on this. James and Lana are somewhat independent invisible muses co-opting the same intellectual space of creativity. I can picture Franco's fictional book on Lana right now. Looking forward to reading it. Hope he does some book talks/signings when it comes out as he has for his others.

I don't know That would mean say, in West Coast, Barrie is the one she is taking a break from and the other stuff is in the other (whether she is talking about him getting well, or her well being) which would mean Barrie is coming back in the future if things go right??? I don't know. Though they seem to be perfect for each other, especially musically. Not that it is any of my business.

It's interesting- the media had about 500 articles on Honeymoon after it was released. 499 were positive. One poster mentioned the one that was negative (and women in general are always put down in that publication, especially liberal women) and after vaguely admonishing that one bad review, ran with the line in it about lyrics. It's the old find something to be negative about and be negative about it the one in 500 times. Instead of saying, wow, the press has been positive 499 out of 500 times The constant is Lana. The song is instantly Lana. Which is what makes Lana Lana and not one of the 500 other artists one could be listening to but I don't want to, but instead I listen to Lana because it is Lana. (and I bet we hear 20 variations of Honeymoon by other artists in the next six months, by then Lana will be working on her next album, always one step ahead of the pack (as a unique talent always does.)

Isabella Rossellini falling in love with Frank in Blue Velvet (and Isabella singing Blue Velvet in the movie) Nobody more known to be dangerous than Frank in Blue Velvet which as said above was possibly all a dream and if not a road trip into hell then redemption BTW- just by chance at the beach today, I saw the book front and back cover of "Rocket Boys" by Homer Hickman Jr. and I walked past it, then did a double take and walked back. Could this be the book she is reading? (The Movie was titled October Sky (which is all the letters of Rocket Boys jumbled up, and takes place I think if I recall the movie in the late 1950s early 1960s

perhaps a more expensive personally autographed set (perhaps on a limited to the special set litho or print signed and a video of her tour, perhaps with every different song she sang in different cities included and eventually a Grateful Dead like 80 (or more) cd set of every single song in every version never released

Bob Dylan writes lots of songs where there are a lot of words in a sentence. Great artists like Dylan and Lana do that. Stream of conscious In fact, the wording makes it even more distinct. Conforming to everyone else, then it isn't Lana. One thing is sure, from the first sung letter of the first sung word, instantly, one knows it is Lana. And no matter what, it is nobody but Lana. Like the first second of a Hitchcock or Lynch movie, one knows it is a Hitchcock or Lynch movie. It is the stamp of authenticity. The mark of an artist. (whereas it could be anyone directing or writing a movie that Tarentino puts out, nothing artistic about him, its all about how much he can cram into his pockets to take to the bank after stealing everything he could from Lynch and Hitchcock)
-
Anyone else think the book might be a track list (or a set list) that will come into focus when she wants it to? 13 or 14 lines (think she said HM will have 13 songs, but all her albums have bonus song or two or three.

Perhaps the book is a track list of Honeymoon? There looks like 13 or 14 lines further musings- Blue Velvet the David Lynch movie where it opened with someone sleeping on a lawn chair and one could say the entire movie was a road trip into a nightmare and at the end waking up. Was it all a dream? Dorothy singing to Frank (and there are some that say Blue Velvet, was in some ways Wizard of Oz(which I referenced earlier), Dorothy from Oz and/is Judy Garland (another singer as big as Edith Piaf and who the press labeled troubled soul) and play on words Frank as in both Frank Morgan who played Oz and Frank Sinatra(who was a bad boy in a different time and place) also just vaguely- Roger Whittaker from Kenya in 1975 had an odd song that in some ways was very obscure, in some ways a major hit called The Last Farewell. Vaguely similar in a is it no it isn't type way aesthetically speaking -
