  1. I love how Lana goes from depraved nocturnal portishead celeb coke queen with DBJAG and then follows it up with rustic contemporary folk Lincoln Nebraska campfire song NAWWAL she’s wild
  2. Pls this is such a non-issue and more just me being extra as a musician with a pet peeve, but I’ve been slightly concerned with the people on here that think psychedelic = solely psychedelic rock. Thats such a dad rock stan outlook. Psych is such a broad descriptor, just compare Madonna’s Ray of Light (acid trance) to Simon and Garfunkel’s Only Living Boy in York (psych pop) to SZA’s Good Days (psych soul) to the Doors‘s Light My Fire (psych rock) to Grouper’s Invisible (psych folk). I really haven’t seen people wanting “more psychedelic sounds” (which isn’t exactly an issue) in most mainstream fanbases other than Lana’s, probably because Lana kinda borders mainstream/alt and people want her to sound more alt, but if you want Lana to sound like Tame Impala or Pink Floyd, just say it Lana’s music has had influences in psychedelia throughout her whole career, look at songs like For K P. 2, Smarty, a hefty chunk of UV/NFR, TNC, Get Free, even White Dress, Black Bathing Suit, Textbook, etc. Not to mention, a lot of her songs are dream pop or influenced by it, which is a derivative of neo-psychedelia/alt rock. I guess a tldr is that psychedelic isn’t just wah-wah guitars or phasers/flangers - a lot of psych music doesn’t even have electric guitars! Even EDM has psych genres like acid house/trance and new rave. Either way, I personally don’t think Lana would sound good with a Tame Impala sound anyways LOL he’s a great producer but I haven’t been a fan of his latest music. I think I was pretty excited for Mike Dean but WFWF’s charm comes from the song’s subject and Lana’s vocal delivery (imo). I’d rather have Lana collab with someone like Johnathan Rado/Weyes Blood (production wise), Yves Tumor, Animal Collective, etc
  3. manifesting this vibe even though it's most likely not gonna happen ajsdlkn

  6. I’ll never forget her concert adidas skirt

Spirited Away (most Ghibli movies tbh) The Tale of Princess Kaguya Harry Potter series The Addams Family + Family Values Roman Holiday Emperor’s New Groove Shrek series Scott Pilgrim vs the World Corpse Bride Nightmare Before Christmas Bridesmaids Ratatouille Scream series Before Sunrise Pans Labyrinth
  8. i'm sorry but how is bunny is a rider #1 that's literally one of her more generic sounding songs asdlhj
  9. bruh I wish I understood Japanese, such a pretty language
  10. Pls I don’t get why this is still an argument, it’s a dream pop song, which is a sub-genre of neo-psychedelia. It’s not really psychedelic rock or anything, but there also really isn’t a set criteria on what makes a song ‘psychedelic’. It’s an informal descriptor that’s pretty subjective and is used to describe feeling more than anything. I would argue though that its subject matter, ethereal feeling, fuzzy/hazy guitar distortion, reverb, synth/theremin? use, density/sensory overload in the interlude is the reason why people can (easily) call it psychedelic.
  11. I see this more in her newer albums though I thought COCC’s order was okay. NFR’s is atrocious
  12. UV would’ve be a perfect album for me if the bonus tracks took MPG - TOW’s spots, Flipside or Is This A Penis as the closer
  13. 60's - 70's music! Dream pop. I never really loved living in CA until I became a fan of her
  14. I’m glad she seems to have a good relationship with Jack still! It seems really cute and I see it more as a throwback than “Lana’s next album is gonna be produced solely by Jack!!!” It seems a lot of ppl were hoping they were gonna ghost each other or something but I’d rather her have a good relationship with the people that produced her albums lol. Also seems like she’s proud of COCC!
  15. i need a mix of her trip hop and dream pop stuff, imagine something like this omg
  16. I was at that concert back in 2015 just a sophomore in high school it feels so long ago. She looked so tired though
  17. I think the last album that I obsessively listened to after release is NFR. I think COCC/BB are great albums (I personally don't think Lana has released any BAD albums tbh), but they don't hit the same. I listen to certain songs from these albums and I think they're some of the best in her discography, but the post-NFR albums mean something different to me. I can't really put my finger on it, maybe it's because QFTC? or just where I am personally in life? I really don't know but it makes me sad. I probably just prefer dream pop-ish Lana compared to singer/songwriter
