  1. Y'all is there really not a link/download to the weekend 2 Coachella performance? I'm freaking out over here at the thought of not being able to rewatch it :sadcore3:

EDIT: nvm found the link in the other thread

  2. I agree 100%. For someone to blatantly call Lana a racist is rather ignorant and is out of line. I agree she’s very tone deaf and doesn’t understand that she’s privileged, but she’s not racist. I feel that she is an open liberal white woman who confuses her privilege with everyone else. She wants to belong and allow people to know she’s on their side, but that may come across as being insensitive to the people that actually do struggle. A racist is someone, defined from Webster, as someone who believes one race is superior than the other and discriminates or is prejudice. For Lana to be racist towards black people she would have definitely not wanted to share her art with Asap, Playboy Carti, or even extend the offer of performing at Kanye’s wedding simply for the fact that she would have not wanted a part of their own black culture influenced in her material.

Can we stop using a racist as if it's one category and a noun? People can be racist without being "a racist" I've had loved ones... people I've trusted... friends.... be racist. And I am a black woman. It doesn't mean I automatically see them as a confederate flag waving bigots, but they have been racist and said/done racist things, and it can't be ignored and has to be called out. People think you have to have racist intentions to be racist. No. Even good people with good intentions can perpetuate racism and they must learn from those moments. It's not just overt hate that exists within the realm of racism we experience. You can be racist without being "a racist." And thus Lana absolutely can say something racist. It's called ignorance and it's still no excuse. Let's please stop acting like it only applies to one evil category of people. And also, having black friends or partaking in black culture doesn't free you from the cycle of racism. I'm not even sure what the context of this response was, but the one of steps toward combating racism is recognizing in all forms (small and large and within a one's ownself) and not feeling so damn uncomfortable about it!

  3. Please refrain from up typing essays about racism. Lana is surely not a racist, and you’re not drafting a thesis paper.

    Anyways #PrayForDan

As a black woman in America who has experiences racism in all different forms since I was in the kindergarten, I will type up however much I want about racism and how easy it is to go unnoticed. Again, you don't have be a racist to be say something racist. Not saying Lana is A racist. Just that what she failed to look at these women and their careers with a non privileged lens. What she said reeks of ignorance because all of them have had hardships of their own from the media and public, with a lot of it being related to race.

  4. Fucking hell are people really rallying on about her being a racist? Fuck, she said the women she mentioned haven’t been scrutinised for making songs about sex and she gets it in the ear every time she mentions it, no one said anything about race, stop clutching at straws that aren’t there, it’s so fucking damaging putting that shit out there when it’s not there to begin with and it takes away from the severity of real racist acts

Microaggressions are a real thing. Racism isn't always overt and large. The smaller, more subtle ways of it do matter and have an impact. And it's most often not even known by the person perpetuating it. I don't think she was aware of intricacies behind what she was saying. And all of those women have absolutely caught flack for singing about sex.

  5. You can still end up being racist without intent to be racist, and I think that's the point here. No one is saying Lana is a racist or a bigot or has intent to be evil or insulting. But what she said was tone deaf and ignorant. Black women have suffered a lot of critcism in the arts and have had to fight hard for their place.... they deserve their attention and #1 hits. I always say you don't have to bring others down to raise another person up. Her post is also full of many great points. I think she could have gotten her message across in a more clear and concise way without dropping a single name. It's a complex statement full of good and bad. We can disagree and call her out on the not so good parts, while still agreeing with her on other things.

Considering she's friends with Ariana, I doubt she even meant to be insulting, but she's still wrong for having dropped those names in the way she did. On the flipside, she has a point in the media's reaction and how people have interpreted her music. And there is no doubt she's been an absolute trendsetter for alternative music and paved the way for artists that now sing dark & "depressing" songs as well.

  6. MOAR DEETS PLZ

So a lot of people in line were already aware they were creeps. I surprisingly had never noticed them before, but the people next to me were saying those were the two girls who camped out at Lana's old house causing her to move to Malibu.

I have no clue if everyone just told security about them or if Lana actually got word of it and had them kicked out. But it was very last minute. Like right before the signing....they had camped out and pretty sure even got their wristbands. So I feel like due to how last minute it was...someone from her team got wind of it and that's why. I remember lurking her twitter right afterwards and she was going off.

  7. Saw her open for a band the other day and it was my first hearing about her. I really enjoyed her performance (though I don't know if it's the kind of music I would actually listen to in my free time)

  8. I tried but I paid 3 months ago and it's too late apparently :( So, I have to resolve this issue directly with the store. But the store don't want to fix the issue. They are liars and don't want to answer to my questions...

The problem is NOBODY never received these lithographs, because adventuresinwonderland never made them and so never shipped them. And it's like everybody who ordered these lithographs have totally forgotten... I have 2 friends who also never received theirs and are trying to get their money back like me, but we're not only 3 people concerned. What can we do to fix that issue and get our money back? Is someone working in Lanaboards can maybe help us to get more visibility? It's not fair to rob people like that. We're all Lana's fans and we have to help each other above all if we are concerned by the same problem. I would like to talk with other people like me who paid for nothing too.... But I don't know how to find these people and how to get more visibility....

Your credit card company won't take care of it because you paid 3 months ago?

Sounds like you somehow have to take legal action, which I know must be a pain and idk how to go about that. Maybe get people to start tweeting and @ adventuresinwonderland directly. Companies tend to freak out when you start spreading negative word about them on Twitter. So try that and then see if they respond. Other than that...seems like the only option left is for you guys to take legal action.

  9. I don't really follow this thread. One question, that whole thing about Lana's 7 year relationship with some record exec... Is that just a load of bullshit?

I mean, she dated both Reeve Carney and Mike Mizrahi at different points in her young life, and she moved to new york when she was 18... Does that give her enough time to do begin and end a 7 year relationship before being discovered. If so... Lana's one busy girl :awk:

Idk, I'm so confused someone please explain.

I think it was probably a 7 year on/off non-official relationship. I'm guessing she still kept in contact with him and had feelings even when in relationships with other people.

  10. I don't care about it being Lana. It's just the fact his lyrics are awful and degrading...and there's nothing humorous about it.

Lana probably doesn't care, but that doesn't mean shit to me. It's just terrifying that he's made millions off lyrics like this and that tons of people worship him for it.

  11. It's literally all I listen to when I drive. Since it's come out, I haven't played a single thing other than Ultraviolence in my car. It's perfect for the road.

At least when I'm at home (although I do listen to UV most of the time) I can bring myself to play other artists.

  12. HEY SO

I heard that "Skid Row" is the name of a street in LA where people do there drug deals for like cocaine and meth and stuff!

SHE WEARS HER DIAMONDS ON SKID ROW. TO BUY COKE. CAUSE SHE'S CLASSY

And it makes sense cause LA is on the WestCoast and "Paradise" is inspired more by her times on the WestCoast ~ pooh

Skid Row is a street where most homeless people take shelter. Not where the average person does drug deals. It's homeless person after homeless person after homeless person, that's what it's known for. Of course there's meth use amongst those homeless ppl, but as I said not really where the average person goes.
