Hot In It sounds like it came out in 2013
-
OMG ITS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT THEM THE LEAK FROM A FEW WEAKS AGO The new sound fx yesssss. I personally like this better than like 75% of Crash UGH the VV energy is INCREDIBLE
-
and what is the sonic direction of said song (obviously just that one, because how could you tell what the whole album sounds like)
-
Maybe I’m just a fool but could the N = Nova? A nova is an exploding star… a firework of sorts
-
I hate to bring down the mood but I just have this gut feeling it’s gonna be BB part 2 with a little bit more of a sonic direction
-
Exactly! It's so interesting seeing the younger new fans flock to an almost 10 year old album and make songs rise naturally. Goes to show how UV really hit this emotional high that many people crave to hear
-
I know she already has legend status but still, I can't help but feel like if she made an album as sonically dynamic and hard hitting as UV again she would be propelled even further into a new level of legend status. Let's be honest, a vast majority of Lana fans want an album that is bombastic with guitar, drums, and a fiery attitude... not sleepy piano ballads (though they are still nice)

COCC and BB aren’t bad - they both just feel very awkward to me. BB especially. COCC has some of her best material in recent years. White Dress (career highlight), COCC, TJF, WAH, DBJAG, DTWD. The rest unfortunately feels undercooked and secondary. I wish she spent more time fleshing this project out because there was a lot of potential I feel she could have dug deeper into. It’s a solid 7/10 album still with a strong sonic identity. BB is bizarre. I’m not so sure the sonic palette is really established enough for it to stand it’s ground as an essential Lana album and it has a LOT of very mid songs imo. There is a strong 10 song album in there somewhere but it all feels very transitionary. This one felt more like a 6/10 personally. I don’t find myself going back to songs other than Dealer, WFWF, Text Book, Thunder and BBS.

My gut tells me she’s just excited for her birthday but that something is coming (probs an announcement) within the next month
-
It’s literally in my town and we take our dogs to that beach I had my prom at the castle she’s posing in front of and have done summer camps on the preserve property several years as a kid so it’s pretty amazing if that’s the case. Even the shoot felt so special for me
-
It is absolutely true. Like it’s so bland that it’s making me mad lmao even Capri’s worst moments are better than whatever this Is
-
It’s so bad I legitimately couldn’t finish it more than one time, it’s the most bland thing she’s ever put out Hoping this is a HT situation and just a mainstream single to attempt to appease the GP
-
isn’t it also possible that Jack and/or Rob could be in the studio helping with the second poetry album?

is Streets the name of your hallucinogen-induced imaginary friend

Not the 2022 edit sounding more dated than the original hate it
-
pretty sure it's because he produced the guitar driven demo, could be wrong though
-
Crash aged like milk Only songs I still use are Lightening, Crash and occasionally Good Ones but every other song is just missing something Still love her and everything she's released up until this (even Sucker imo is far superior)
-
I don't mind if the album is more tame balladry, I just want inventive melodies and chords back in the mix. Beautiful and VFR are the epitome imo of what is a "boring" ballad: predictable structure, rhymes, melodies, progression. Imagine if she could serve something like this or even the original:
-
I love the music video but the song does nothing for me. It's fine but nothing special or very interesting, kind of get bored half way through. I am glad though that is is mixed very well and indicates that hopefully the album will be decently mixed... some her previous work sounds too congested production wise but this has space to it which I appreciate!
-
Did she switch producers for her work post-Cry Baby? Everything since CB has sounded very bland and colorless imo while CB and the EP before were actually quite lush and interesting production wise
-
Knowing very well that this will be her only output of the 2020's, I'm simply pretending she does not exist until the album is out and died couple months after its release
-
Every Rule is a cute song but after being played the intro snippet months ago and for that one little riff to basically be the entire song... skip sadly
-
Eh, kind of wished she had included the era looks explicitly and woven it in to the dress-up concept. Sort of feels like random looks just hodge lodged together. I do like the little "fuck you" moments sprinkled throughout tho!

Crucify me for saying it but the only tracks I still use are Lightening, Crash and Good Ones... the rest is very mid. Very little on this album really pops to me, and I've stanned her since TR. Definitely my least favorite thing she's ever done but glad she's seeing some success and a confidence boost
