What does she do all day

Somerset, ENG @ Glastonbury Festival - June 24th, 2023
White Dress replied to x VB's topic in 2023 Performances
I’m not defending it but I’m just saying… 30 minutes late is very normal for festivals and even regular concerts, honestly even up to an hour is very typical -
WTMI Remix is great but George needs to add more punch to his drums because it was very much giving sample pack with no additional edits
-
Which version did they play? The DallasK remix?
-
I didn’t clarify, she’s sampling the Robyn version, not the original. The main synth line is what’s sampled!
-
Yes! Now it is confirmed by the snippet that the song does indeed sample Cobrastyle, and Chinn and Chapman wrote Hey Mickey! So excited to see how this turns out
-
The snippet is actually at the very beginning of the clip - song is confirmed to sample Cobrastyle by Robyn and you can hear the Cobrastyle synth with Charli’s voice in the first 2 seconds!
-
Wait so she has acknowledged the Barbie Girl remix? What exactly did she say?
-
Out of Time is cut but I’m kind of tired of her just trying out whatever sound is trendy at the moment. She doesn’t really know who she is as an artist. She started doing an Ayesha impression, then went the generic “hyperpop” bratty Charli route and is now going for Dua/Kim/Ava generic dance pop
-
When she drops an EP next week with all four of these and it makes no noise
-
Who is in her studio post on 360Brat? It kind of looks like Ian Kirkpatrick
-
Recently noticed the amount of Cloud Aura hate I don’t get it, Cloud Aura is perfect as it is and Brooke’s verse is great
-
I will never get the BTR hate within this base. The production is great, love the mix of pop rock with electronics and the lyrics are camp. How you gonna hate on those lyrics while singing along to “good girls shouldn’t party we do what we supposed to do” and “can I take you to the airport, make out under the bathroom lights” Disclaimer: I love all of the lyrics I mentioned, it’s just such hypocrisy
-
girlie whatever drugs you are on, pass them over
-
Wait I kind of love this, it’s giving This Mortal Coil vibes

This has been such a messy rollout I haven't even had time to process the fact they pumped out IJWAR as the lead, completely abandoned any promotional efforts, then left off the album entirely and for some reason included Brr... let alone the fact she recorded multiple scrapped albums, the "singles" leading up to this release have been a mess. - FSN released as lead, eventually scrapped. Made little noise but well enough liked. - Coconuts released as second single. Created buzz but ultimately mishandled with no proper video. Now technically the first single from the album? - HIFTB teased as third single, never comes out. Relegated to album track. - IJWAR released as new lead, seemingly indicating no prior singles would make the album (including Coconuts), later scrapped probably due to lukewarm reception - Brr released as "second" single from the album for... some reason. Her team seemed to have lost the plot here because there was literally no reason for it to come out. - Alone released as the the third "lead" single (despite two prior released songs making the tracklist) and the only of the "leads" to be included. Lots of pre-release buzz for what ultimately was a lazy, phoned in waste of hype. Alone 2.0 released due to fan demand and pushed by her as the "fix"... still didn't fix the issues. Luckily the DallasK remix did the job but it has not been promoted at all and it's release has been almost completely ignored. This girl needs to just push reset. It's honestly really sad.

I wonder if maybe they made the Barbie Girl song first and then the movie rejected it because of the Nicki and Ice Spice remix

Are you guys absolutely insane? Most of the best music of all time came before 1980. You guys just sound like mainstream pop stans who can’t stand anything with grit or a bit of fire. TVU along with Lou Reed and John Cale’s solo work are some of the most revolutionary music ever. Heroin, Venus in Furs, Sweet Jane, Walk On The Wildside, CONEY ISLAND BABY, Walk on The Wild Side, Caroline Says II, Perfect Day, like HELLO??? No its not some benign sht rolled in glitter, sorry but if you DO want that from pre-80s… DAVID FCKING BOWIE Not to mention the entirety of the Beatles discography and their respective solo material being some of the most inventive music ever created. Leonard Cohen, Kate Bush, Pink fucking Floyd, The Stooges, Jefferson Airplame, Roy Harper, JONI FCKING MITCHELL, Roxy Music, Iggy Pop, ALL OF PUNK ROCK and the start of post-punk… I mean COME ON… Talking Heads. Krautrock, Psych Rock, Prog Rock and so much more Also on the electronic side Kraftwerk, Throbbing Gristle, Silver Apples Im sorry I just can’t believe how dismissive yall are
-
Jail for this post, honestly secondhand embarrassment.
-
Because she’s likely back on the crack
-
Ok wait Alex Chapman remix kind of is what we wanted but it still sounds a little off
-
How do you fuck it up TWICE oh my god her team is incompetent. This was her last chance. I’m done with her. Why go through the effort of remaking the song and then not doing the ONE thing we asked
-
It’s just unfortunate because Kim has so many genuinely innovative and colorful artists in her corner (namely much of the PC Music camp) and chooses to put out… this. We’ve seen glimmers of real fire on songs like Icy, Do Me and Dark Part Of Your Heart (which aren’t even particularly groundbreaking in any way) but she maintains to giving robotic flop after robotic flop
