Trash Magic Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I thought it would be cool for people to share a few of their favourite albums that were released in the 00s. I have 1 nomination right now Whoa, Nelly! - 2000 http://vimeo.com/25014275 4 Quote "It's 2011, and we should all be aware of exactly how fast technology is developing" - Lana Del Rey

VegasBaby Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Another vote for Daft Punk - Discovery. Also, I really liked Nelly but it's sad she's not around anymore (that I know of). I wish she would make a comeback because a few years ago she was quite prominent.. I'll always love Shakira's Laundry Service (2001) as it made me a fan of her and I saw how amazing she was. To break through America with a great album like that, as English as your second language..recording and writing everything after having to learn English is so admirable and I became a huge fan of her. I didn't like the albums she released afterwards but I'm glad of her success. Hot Fuss by the Killers. (2004) I loved that album. I thought every song bar one or two was brilliant. Still listen to it now. Can't believe it's been almost 10 years since it's release. The Weight is a Gift by Nada Surf (2005). Again one of those albums that are just incredible in it's entirety. You can listen to it and it will instantly make you happier. The songs have that effect and I adore this album so much. So much more..A Fever You Can't Sweat Out by Panic! At the Disco (2005) was brilliant. The Boy With No Name by Travis (2007), Puzzle by Biffy Clyro (2007). Too many to name. Oh, I'm rambling. I'm sure I could talk forever about music. 1 Quote Sweeping scents and blue hydrangea. Summer hail and summer stranger.

drewby Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Coldplay's X&Y makes me really emotional so I'd have to say that one. I usually don't get chills from music 0 Quote
Madrigal Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Regina's 11:11, Soviet Kitsch, and Begin to Hope. Florence's Lungs. St. Vincent's Actor. Rilo Kiley's Under the Blacklight and More Adventurous. Vampire Weekend's Contra. Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Fever to Tell, Show Your Bones, and It's Blitz. Santigold's Santigold. Sleigh Bells' Treats. Someone help me discern between what my favourites are and what are actually the best albums here...I tried to be unbiased, but sometimes personal preferences usurp actual greatness. 1 Quote
