YUNGATA Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Young and Beautiful' began life as a contribution to Baz Luhrmann's love-it-or-hate-it reinvention of The Great Gatsby, but it quickly earned a life outside the film. And with good reason: it's a wonderfully luxurious slice of melancholy from a singer who's already established herself as the new queen of old Hollywood glamour. On 'Young and Beautiful', Lana Del Rey skilfully manages the fine balance between grand romance and the wistful sadness of the chorus question: "Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?" top 10: 1-Riptide, Vance Joy 2-Royals, Lorde 3- Get Lucky, Daft Punk 4- Do I Wanna Know, Arctic Monkeys 5-Drop The Game, Flume & Chet Faker 6-Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High? Arctic Monkeys 7-Young and Beautiful, Lana Del Rey 8- Resolution, Matt Corby 9- Is This How You Feel, The Preatures 10- Strong, London Grammar source: http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/hottest100/13/countdown/ 1 Quote
Guest Dot Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Y&B is sooo overrated, but it's great to see her being acknowledged and to me this is a sign that the GP will be here for her during the next era. All I need for the next era are good single choices and NO Cedric Whatevais. 1 Quote

PennCentralFan Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 I really like the song. I know people who got turned on into Lana because of this song from the move. Wait till you get a little bit older and you'll get the song. 1 Quote
Zagato Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 I love this song from the beginning. I don't understand what some people have against this song but hey we're all different so I respect that. Happy that the song is in the top 10. 0 Quote

RonnieDRocks Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 I like the remix more than the orignal. I usually listen to that then the Summertime Sadness remix since they go great together. 0 Quote

alidusi Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 So happy for her! Y&B's not one of my favorites but it's great she accomplished that no matter what song it was for. Lol does anybody know who number one is? 0 Quote
