Sitar Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Brian Wilson's new album No Pier Pressure is out April 7 via Capitol. As previously reported, it features appearances from Zooey Deschanel (as well as her She & Him partner M. Ward) and country singer Kacey Musgraves, along with fun. singer Nate Ruess, Beach Boys members Al Jardine, David Marks, and Blondie Chaplin, plus Capital Cities' Sebu Simonian, Don Was, and more. It seems that previously announced contributors Frank Ocean and Lana Del Rey didn't make the cut. Ocean was supposed to appear on "Our Special Love", while Del Rey was supposed to be featured on "The Last Song". Both tracks made the album, but don't seem to have either artist on them. You can check out the tracklist below. The album was produced by Joe Thomas, who helmed the Beach Boys' That's Why God Made the Radio in 2012. A deluxe edition will feature bonus songs "Don't Worry", "Somewhere Quiet", and "I'm Feeling Sad". Those will also be included on a 2xLP vinyl release. No Pier Pressure: 01 This Beautiful Day 02 Runaway Dancer [ft. Sebu Simonian] 03 What Ever Happened [ft. Al Jardine and David Marks] 04 On The Island [ft. She & Him] 05 Our Special Love [ft. ilovetati Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 The other article from Pitchfork says that it is a result of schedule conflicts that prevented Lana from the finishing the song. 3 Quote
DominicMars Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 No Lana or Frank? Not here for this album at all. 3 Quote

LiamViljoen Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 tell me exactly what the fuck she has been so busy with recently Oh Idk perhaps Honeymoon? Big Eyes? Riverside? Wait For Life? I mean I'm disappointed too but you can't say she's lying on her ass... Where have you been? 6 Quote

leaked_version Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Actually, I think it is good that these collabs with Wilson and Moroder didn't happen. After Wait For life, Big Eyes and I can Fly being boring new songs, I don't think I could have handled more disappointing and pointless releases. 6 Quote
Rebel Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Love the Beach Boys -- wish this happened 0 Quote
HunterAshlyn Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 surprised Lana wouldn't have made this a more important priority, however, I'm not surprised that her team wouldn't have cleared her schedule for this. I guess Interscope and the team probably didn't see too much hit potential in this collaboration. However, it would have been super dope, artistically. Excited for the Kacey Musgraves collaboration. She & Him is a natural collaboration although I can only imagine how vanilla the song will sound. Lana and Frank Ocean would have brought some much needed edge and unexpectedness to this duets album. 0 Quote

longtimeman Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 The other article from Pitchfork says that it is a result of schedule conflicts that prevented Lana from the finishing the song. This sounds like a euphemism, but I'm not sure we'll ever find out for what. 0 Quote
Sitar Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 In an episode of The Golden Girls, Betty White's character stops having sex because multiple men have died mid-coitus with her. I wonder if Lana is worried that her collaborative spirit kills off old legends (Bobby Womack, Lou Reed) and is hence avoiding Moroder and Wilson This was a very @@Monicker post 13 Quote
Creyk Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 I am okay with this Let Lana have her spaghetti in peace, don't interrupt her all the time 4 Quote
Hello Heaven Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I was actually devastated when I heard about this because The Beach Boys are a childhood favourite of mine, I'm actually seeing them live this year, so I was really looking forward to the collab - especially since we know the band are an inspiration of Lana's too but now I'm just really not hyped for the album 2 Quote

Giorgio and Brian are actually really talented tho so the songs would hardly be disappointing 3 Quote
Pocket Gay Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Wait....when Lana was supposed to work with Giorgio Moroder? 0 Quote
smoledman Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Wait....when Lana was supposed to work with Giorgio Moroder? This is what I want to see. His electronic stylings to Lana's sadcorin' lyrics = possible magic. 0 Quote
