I added a complete list of eligible songs to the OP for y'alls consideration, also includes the breakdown of demos and alternate versions, which will be counted under an umbrella of the final version even if you submit yours specifics. Only thing not eligible is live performances.

I have to say I am surprised that OUAD is not among best covers, I guess people don't love it as much as I thought

essentially yes. It's preferential voting so the song you like most will get +20, your next favourite +19 and so on. your flop 5 get -1, -2, -3, -5 and -10 accordingly.
