ParadiseFreak Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Interesting article talking about how Lana's "smiling" album cover breaks the mold of typical "fierce" looks from women on their album covers. This guy obviously put a lot of thought into. Pretty well-written, and he seems to have a very high opinion of Lana. Worth a read! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/lana-del-rey-album-art-smile_us_58ed54abe4b0ca64d91a3649 1 Quote

ParadiseFreak Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 I think that was in the context of what "haters" were saying about her after BTD and the SNL stuff, early on. 0 Quote
HunterSThompson Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 "There is something striking about Lana’s easy smile for “Lust for Life,” which doesn’t appear to gratify anyone but herself. The fact that a female photographer (and Del Rey’s little sister) Chuck Grant took the photo might help with that conclusion. The image doesn’t subscribe to the typical women-musician formula demanding they appear “iconic,” or more than human, to garner respect... And her smile? It might be genuine, it might be posed. Who knows, and who cares?" 1 Quote
Daisy Hearted Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I'm sorry, but when Lana smiles, I have the urge to cry because she's so pretty and it sparks up joy . Don't ask me why because I don't know and yes, I am extra. 2 Quote
