Monicker Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I see Ride as both tired and triumphant. There's a desperation and urgency, but it's also reveling in it, in one's own madness, in what pushes you to your limits, embracing that which makes you you, no matter how taxing it may be. You know: I am crazy, but i am free. 2 Quote "The limits of my language mean the limits of my world." -Wittgenstein
Hundred Dollar Bill Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 While I make playlists sometimes, I spend a lot more time making my own mixtapes out of Lana's endless discography. I have a handful made up, but only two of them are beautiful & finalized, so those are the ones I'll be sharing! I spend a lot of time rearranging the tracklist and stuff so that the songs sound well next to each other. I had to cut off the silence at the start/end of some of the songs so they'd flow together well. I'm really proud of these so I'd love to hear your opinions on them! 3 Quote

HunterAshlyn Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 GAH! I'm SOOO glad you still have it. And I love that you loved it as well! And the orders of songs haven't changed that much. Still a lot of the same flow in the my BTD PE playlist haha. Weird. Some songs just go together so well for me. Can't imagine breaking them up! 0 Quote
PrettyBaby Posted December 13, 2012 Author Posted December 13, 2012 HDB, I love your Methamphetamines playlist! (What version of Yayo is that? I'm using the NKF version for now, but the times are different.) 1 Quote

Sitar Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Okay, this one is called My Best Days, I guess the theme is reminiscence. The songs are kind of all over the place. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them. 1. This is What Makes Us Girls 2. Children of the Bad Revolution 3. Boarding School 4. The End of the World [Live] 5. For K (Sirens) 6. Carmen [Demo] 7. Pawn Shop Blues 8. My Best Days 9. Blue Velvet 10. Radio 11. Every Man Has His Wish 12. Prom Song (Gone Wrong) 13. Driving in Cars With Boys [Demo] I wanted to end it on a happy note, I guess. I know TIWMUG is a weird opener because it generally makes a great closer, but I think the severity at the end with all the samples going crazy goes nicely into COTBR. And the grooviness of COTBR in turn goes nicely into the grooviness of Boarding School. For K kinda sticks out but I wanted it on there 1 Quote

Sitar Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 I love the transition. Fond as well I like the way these songs go together! Another great playlist What do you think about this order: 1. Every Man Has His Wish 10. Prom Song (Gone Wrong) 11. Radio 12. Blue Velvet 13. Driving in Cars With Boys [Demo] Thanks PB! You know, and not just because Jake likes it, but I think My Best Days should be by Blue Velvet in this scenario, although I see what you're getting at with the outro. Perhaps the problem her is putting Every Man Has His Wish after Radio. Like the For K/End of the World switch, however. 0 Quote
Sitar Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 So I figured that Lana's unreleased can be neatly divided into four main genres--early surf noir material, upbeat gangsta Nancy Sinatra stuff, "Hollywood sadcore", and pop. From there, I made these albums for unreleased material in iTunes to divide the colossal unreleased album in a fun way. Volume I: South Beach Swing 1. Every Man Has His Wish 2. Moije Joue (feat. Princess Superstar) 3. Hundred Dollar Bill 4. Boarding School 5. Trash Magic 6. Motel 6 7. Heavy Hitter 8. Come When You Call Me America 9. The Man I Love 10. Jimmy Gnecco 11. 1949 12. You're Gonna Love Me 13. Axl Rose Husband 14. Elvis 15. Disco 16. Pin Up Galore 17. Methamphetamines 18. Get Drunk 19. Money Hunny 20. Fordham Road Volume II: Miss America 1. Happy Birthday, Mr. President [intro] 2. Dangerous Girl 3. Live or Die 4. Gangsta Boy 5. Dynamite 6. Kinda Outta Luck 7. Ooh Baby 8. Push Me Down 9. You Can Be Boss 10. Us Against the World 11. Summer of Sam 12. Dum Dum 13. Fake Diamond 14. Back to tha Basics 15. Puppy Love 16. Paris 17. Prom Song (Gone Wrong) 18. Driving in Cars With Boys Volume III: American Dream 1. Playing Dangerous 2. Put the Radio On 3. Children of the Bad Revolution 4. Velvet Crowbar 5. Hollywood's Dead 6. On Our Way 7. Never Let Me Go 8. Will You Still Love Me [interlude] 9. American Dream (Damn You) 10. Afraid 11. My Best Days 12. You & Me 13. I Don't Wanna Go 14. Serial Killer 15. Noir 16. Backfire 17. Dayglo Reflection (feat. Bobby Womack) 18. Last Girl on Earth Volume IV: Daddy Issues 1. Hit & Run 2. Gogo Dancer 3. Match Made in Heaven 4. Ridin' [My Bitch] (feat. A$AP Rocky) 5. Delicious 6. Paradise 7. Jealous Girl 8. Daddy Issues 9. Making Out 10. Ghetto Baby 11. Big Bad Wolf 12. Is It Wrong? 13. She's Not Me 14. Lift Your Eyes 15. Butterflies 16. Butterflies Pt. 2 17. Break My Fall Unless she surprises all of us and Daytona Meth is some dubstep country rock then all future leaks can probably fit under these distinctions. 9 Quote

PrettyBaby Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 I love how these playlists are like getting a new album every time, even with all the overlap!Okay, I tried to make an alternate version of Born to Die, sort of what it would have sounded like in a parallel universe if EH hadn't intervened. (Not that I don't like the final result; I love it, but sometimes I overplay it and need a fresh take on it.) So I put demo versions of all the songs in the same order as the BTD tracklist (well, with a live version of OTTR). And I kinda liked it, but lost interest quickly. But then I decided to mix it up, and add songs that sound like they could have been intended for BTD, and here is what I came up with!THE REVENGE OF LANA DEL REYHey Lolita Hey (Lolita demo 1) (3:51)This Is What Makes Us Girls (demo 1) (3:36)Lucky Ones (demo) (3:48)Never Let Me Go (4:07)Blue Jeans (demo)Video Games (demo) (2:14)Dark Paradise (demo 1) (2:25)Kinda Outta Luck (3:17)Happy Birthday Mr. President (0:54)You Can Be the Boss (3:05)She Walks Into Mine (0:08)National Anthem (demo 1) (3:37)Dangerous Girl (4:22)Diet Mtn Dew (demo 3) (3:39)Off to the Races (5:00)Million Dollar Man (demo) (3:42)Hundred Dollar Bill (demo) (3:13)Carmen (demo) (4:17)She's Not Me (3:46)Without You (demo 1) (3:06)Born to Die (demo 2) (4:21)Radio (demo) (3:31)Driving in Cars (4:17) 1 Quote
Tammy Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 My playlist always starts with 'Lucky Ones'. It's simply Lana's best song. 2 Quote
Monicker Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 'Lucky Ones'. It's simply Lana's best song. It can get pretty rough around here, but i have a Louisville Slugger you can borrow should you feel in need of protecting yourself. 3 Quote "The limits of my language mean the limits of my world." -Wittgenstein
