Lana isn't an indie artist as she is signed to a major label, but she would be classified as "alternative" because the genres encompassed in her music. She just happens to be "popular" as well.
She's bridged the gap pretty well, it's so refreshing that she's neither genre and still so popular.

Listening to Catch and Release, Maha Maha and Golden Grill, I reallllly want her to go down the experimental route because these songs are just so great.

After seeing how well Lana can do an entirely different style of music (UV), why would anyone want her to regress back to an old sound?? It'd be so much more exciting to see her grow more through a new ~sonic landscape~ than to be like "nah I don't feel like trying with Honeymoon, just gloss it with the BTD sound filter effects and call it a day."
I don't get the logic at all.
Exactly, if you like Born To Die and Ultraviolence, go and listen to them people and knock yourself out
Honeymoon is a new era, which means it's time for something new and we all need to be fucking excited!

I really hope Music To Watch Boys To is the summer bop everyones listening to.. i think i've said it before but, when i hear the title i visualise two girls sitting under a tree in the shade looking towards a skate park, watching the guys on their skateboards or something.. i hope it's as incredible as west coast was tbh.. but she describes it like something similar to Big Eyes... hmmm
Anyway, if she's rehashing any old songs... Kill Kill, pleaaaaaase. In love with it
The title makes me think of a more somber sounding song, like Bel Air can't wait to hear it!

The only song I thought was weak because I didn't like the vocals was Pretty When You Cry, but it has grown on me over time, still loved the production and guitar solo.

Anyways, I just want the new album to NOT have that amateur demo-ey sound that UV had.
Please elaborate on this.

i want her to DITCH the themes of before ("im in love with a bad guy" / "love sucks" / "i got hurt but i love you still") and give us some NEW themes. even if you disregard her unreleased stuff, the themes of her released material (BTD, P & UV) is sadly not very diverse thematically. there are moments where she diverges from this (NA, Radio, FMWUTTT, MPG, FK), but i want her to completely leave the themes of previous behind, or at least write about them in a new way. that's why i love WC so much - she touches on similar stuff as before, but in a new way; the "Queen of Saigon" reference is still there, for example, but she sings about it differently.
This.
She does the sad girl theme so well, but I love when she just has fun with songs like Off to the Races, Cola, West Coast, Florida Kilos etc. I want more of that!

I hope there's at least one song like Summertime Sadness or Born to Die that will do well commercially. Of course I don't want Lana to make a full album of bops, because I love her more experimental stuff, but a few like Summertime Sadness or Florida Kilos wouldn't go amiss. Having at least one popular single would also help promote the album and get Lana more attention.
in b4 y'all yell at me for sharing my opinionYes I agree, or she should promote it better. Better videos, more interviews and TV appearances etc.

WISH THESE SONGS HAD NEVER LEAKED AND WERE OFFICIALY RELEASED IN THE HONEYMOON ALBUM :'(
1. QUEEN OF DISASTER
2. HOLLYWOOD'S DEAD
3. VELVET CROWBAR
4. SERIAL KILLER
5. BECAUSE OF YOU
THESE SONGS WUD HAVE BEEN JUST SO DAMN PERFECT 4 HONEYMOON, IT MAKES ME SUPER SAD THAT THEY MIGHT NEVER GET RELEASED ON HER ALBUM!!!
Yes but we have these songs, Honeymoon will have new songs- I'd rather that than have a rehash of something I've heard before.

I'm listening to Come When You Call Me and Lana does jazz sexy, if there are songs like that on Honeymoon I'll be happy!
