  1. If you don't like how she treats this then you should react the same for how she treats Lolita-like relationships because it's much more fucked up imo then mentioning rough sex.

    i don't like that either?

BDSM is not fetishizing abuse? It's done between two (or more I guess) consenting parties whereas abuse is forced upon the victim. There are other differences too, but at the end of the day they are completely different!

lol not going to derail this thread w/that debate but bdsm is literally fetishizing abuse. what do you call getting off to hurting someone else/getting hurt yourself? yes there is "consent" but it doesn't change the fact that harm is being done. & please don't tell me i don't know what i'm talking about bcos i used to be a huge bdsm supporter, so.

i love lana's music and all but i don't have to agree with everything she sings about.

  2. the chorus is--

we're children of the bad revolution

    & partying's the only solution

in our minds there ain't any confusion

about who we are, & what we're gonna be

    we're gonna get free

sorry to boost an old thread, but is there really a finer lana song? it's so...slick and sexy.

  3. Sorry, I know this is really off topic, but having a family history of schizophrenia only increases your chances of developing psychosis. Just because your family doesn't have a history of it, doesn't mean it can't happen to you. I learned about this in my psychology class, but I found an article if you want to read about it:

    http://m.livescience.com/17707-marijuana-thc-brain-psychosis.html

Yeah and I found another source that says the opposite: http://psychcentral.com/news/2013/12/10/harvard-marijuana-doesnt-cause-schizophrenia/63148.html

So don't go claiming things that aren't definitively true.

  4. Just to point out, long term marijuana use increases your chances of psychosis, which is pretty much borderline schizophrenia. [...]

i can't believe we're having this stupid off-topic debate about weed on a lana forum, but you're so off bounds with this. if you have a family history/some other risk factor(s) of schizophrenia, then YES, smoking weed it a really bad idea! but it doesn't just cause psychosis out of nowhere. do your research.

  5. Oh. My. God. Marijuana is not some addiction free drug, I know dozens of people who are addicted to it, though, they'll never admit to it because addicts never want to admit it. Seriously, if it's not addictive, then why are there pot heads? Why are there people who feel the needs to constantly smoke it? Why do people get suddenly the urge to be high? Smokers & drinkers all feel the same urges as weed smokers do. It's more of a mental addiction than physical, but it's still an addiction. You can't just deny the facts because you enjoy doing it. While high, you can experience a distorted sense of time, paranoia, anxiety & depression, the same as with every other drug on this damn planet. Withdrawing can cause panic attacks, depression, anxiety & aggression, again, same as with every other drug on this damn planet. I can tell you from experience with my own withdraws that it's a hell out of a lot easier to deal with a physical addiction than mental. You can distract yourself from the shakes & shit you get from quitting other drugs, you can't get away from the voice in your head that tell you you need to get high.

why are you even in this thread? do you know that you can get addicted to virtually anything in this world? (shopping, eating, etc.) at least with pot if you stop you don't go through horrible withdrawal symptoms. get off your high horse.

ANYWAY. you & me is great high.

  6. this is my absolute favorite thread. so many great moments!

the bridge of "break my fall" . angry/sassy/jilted lana songs are in the minority and they are some of my favorites.

i'm not gonna let you become a martyr/not gonna let you pick up the gun/i'm gonna make this a whole lot harder/won't make it easy for you to run!

intense lyrics, great background vocals, that last high note.  :defeated:

  7.

I literally have zero friends that are girls because... dun dun dun

I get along better with guys. There's no drama, no back stabbing, no competition that you're in but you didn't want to be a part of in the first place. Girls are (for the most part) shitty fucking friends, and I think if we were more like dudes, we'd be more fun to hang out with. I got rid of all my girl friends because I was sick of being judged constantly and ridiculed when I was just trying to be a friend. And I think we all know Lana's view on it: See lyrics to TiWMUG

    nice internalized misogyny.

TiWMUG highlights the fact that women put men first cos we're socialized to think finding love and a man is the ultimate goal. "it's a curse"--not something to be proud of like you seem to be.

  8. the first time i heard it, i couldn't get past the first verse. once i finally listened to the chorus, i was hooked and could appreciate the contrast with the verses.

the music video is one of my favorite homemade ones, for sure!

i love, love, love the way she says, "you salute me, miss america...because i am...i AM!" just. perfection.
