  1. Does anyone else think that this song is spooky as fuck? I listened to it for the first time in the car with my gf the other day and it gave us both hardcore anxiety. The first part was fine, if a little boring, and the beat change was cool, but something about those sound effects was unsettling. I've listened to it since then in headphones while drunk and I've enjoyed it, but I'm legitimately afraid to listen again sober. It's like VBBOTG all over again, which I had to take a break in the middle of and come back to. I love that she's doing big production again and I'm very excited about the new album, but yikes.

    Some folks were talking about The Trio single cover art (and how bad it was). I wasn’t quite as *involved* back then and i couldn’t find it, or don’t know what I’m looking for. Could someone share it?

    Maybe they were talking about the Blue Banisters/Textbook/Wildflower Wildfire triple release

  3. A lot of people are talking about the drug lyrics and how everybody makes memes about coke and sugar daddies and stuff, but I think that the people making these memes forget that music has different meanings to different people. I don't do drugs, but lana's music about drugs affects me very personally bc I have/still am struggling with a behavioral (rather than substance) addiction, and her songs make me feel heard and understood.

    Lol mine is actually pretty close to yours, with the exception of Sweet Carolina bc I skip a lot of songs, particularly Beautiful, Arcadia, VFR, & BB. I love NOTG & LL, I just have them on a different playlist.

    California is only liked by people because of who produced it. It really is nothing that special, and is my clear least favorite from Norman Fucking Rockwell. If no one had any clue about the production credits, I feel like many more people would feel the same way due to the Jack hate blinders

    Wasn't jack somewhat involved in the production though, just not as much as the rest of the album? I don't love the song, but I do like it bc of the vocals. The production could use a little extra something though imo.

    This was such a cool idea, so I tried it too! My ranking was actually pretty close to what I thought it was, except that I usually have Paradise & Honeymoon tied and COTCC & NFR are switched.

    Born to Die - 107
    Ultraviolence - 121
    Paradise - 278
    Honeymoon - 314
    Lust for Life - 364
    Norman Fucking Rockwell - 672
    Chemtrails Over the Country Club - 721

    Blue Banisters update plus with a slightly different method - instead of just using the top 9 tracks from each album, I thought it'd be more accurate to add them all up and use the averages

    Paradise: 30.7

    Born to Die: 34.7

    Ultraviolence: 36.3

    Honeymoon: 54.2

    Lust for Life: 57.6

    Blue Banisters: 76.5

    Norman Fucking Rockwell: 86.1

    Chemtrails Over the Country Club: 92.1

    BB ended up pretty much where I thought it would, but I was a little bit surprised that Paradise went to the top, but it makes sense bc I feel like it would be my favorite if it were a full album rather than an EP

  7. Ok so I like creating playlists but I'm kind of unsure of how to arrange this one. I had a Chemtrails playlist that I want to combine with Blue Banisters but idk about order. Any suggestions?

    09. Not All Who Wander Are Lost (PlastiscGuy Mix)

    10. Dance Till We Die

    i kno i just recently said it but i need to say it again: the lyrics for the chorus on 'not all those who wander are lost' PERTURBS me. is anyone able to explain the pinterest lyrics to me in a way that will make me appreciate them? like... is it on purpose? is it irony? "not all those who wander are lost... it's just wanderlust" seems SO incongruent w everything else she's ever written lol

    and on that note. i hate jack

    "Not all those who wander are lost" is from lord of the rings, which I find kind of interesting bc she's never seemed to show any interest in it.

    Spoiler

    "All that is gold does not glitter,
    Not all those who wander are lost;
    The old that is strong does not wither,
    Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

    From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
    A light from the shadows shall spring;
    Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
    The crownless again shall be king."

    Idk what the wanderlust thing is all about or how either of them really tie into the rest of the lyrics though, she probably just thought that it sounded nice or something.

    Also I hate jack too :tsk:

    For those who don’t mind being spoiled descriptively but want to wait till release:

    Spoiler

    <spoiler>

    It’s a duet with Alex Turner (?), sounds like it should have been on Ultraviolence - it sounds like what she described Pretty When You Cry as in terms of emotion, sounds like it was done in one (very emotional) take, but raw in a good way, a blistering attack on her former lover. It’s also quite strange, she screams but there are also playful lines. Genuinely hard to describe in terms of tone, but very dirge-y yet not monotonous, again, Ultraviolence teas. The verses are catchier than the chorus, but the chorus is quite obviously meant to be this atonal explosion.
