I haven’t felt this way about a Lana album since Honeymoon. Lfl Was a disappointment for me since it was all over the place and felt sooooo long, I loveeeeee NFR and cock but it felt so different from the first three albums. They were great but a certain level of sparkle that ultra and honey had wasn’t really present throughout the whole album for me. Definitely some songs like Cali and the greatest and a bunch more but I wasnt into it as much as I wished.

But blue banisters, wow it’s really doing something to me. I can’t stop playing it. Her performance on it is so stellar, there’s no skips (except the trio since I just wanna hear Lana’s voice LOL)

Her voice is Center stage and the production is just enough. Songwriting is top notch and the subtleties of her pronunciation and cadence wowowowoowowowow

I really hope she sings more songs from this album if she tours again, dreaming with y’all

i love the idea of calling albums shortnamed like ultra, honey

reminds me of how she refers to nfr as norman/normy/

we can forget about lust for life and OCKC

ultra, honey, norm, and banisters sidding pretty<3

  2. actually want to actively make tiny compilations of this trilogy we have where NFR is day in the life of depressed la vagabond and cotcc is day in the life of la skeptic and bb is day in the life of woman with an identity crisis and a desperation for an anchor

just in the sense that i want to combine all the mariner sounding songs that jack made like it's oceanic lounge music all tied together via instrumental

or another where it's snapshots of americana idealism for suburbia being bleached by pandemic

and the other where its statements of self like if u took a magnifying glass inward and used the sun to burn holes where holes are suppose to be and haven't been made yet i think that'd be fun

going through one of the hardest break ups of my life (still) even though he reached out to me today after 3 months, so a rollercoater of emotions for me .. i just listened to the full album while stoned and watching this video

This is probably one of her best albums, i can see myself falling so in love with it, its such an autumn rainy album, grey clouds and wet pavements, hot coffee shops, the smell of bakeries on the corner, it's sublime! my favourite tracks on first listen were arcadia, beautiful and sweet carolina! vfr and iyldwm are growers right now for me... dealer, the trio and black bathing suit left a slap mark on my ass... they're so intriguing and powerful, and kinda turn me on

i LOVE the fact that she kept nectar of the gods completely the same, living legend was still legendary, i liked the retouched piano, cherry blossom remains boring even after the 746583rd version of it... and of course thunder is much better than the demo but still a little mehh for me, i think it'll always be a bland song to me idk why..

overall, magnum opus! it's definitely a part of the holy trinity against ultravolence and honeymoon... each are incredibly creative, introspective and form their own worlds

    Spoiler

im so proud i can agree with you on beautiful....that's thee song. thee mission statement of her career with get free and yosemite.... whew

  4. very weird that there's this insinuation her deactivating her social medias is her losing her freedom or giving in when it's actually gaining a fuckton of it...some of these fans are drowning in this parasocial relationship the girl isn't dying none of us should've had this much access to a woman none of us know in the first place ?

i know EYE'd rather lana just live her life and make her music and poetry and tell us what's been happening in the in-between time via edited published work rather than cringy instagram stories or miscommunicated thoughts on her place in the "culture" or whatever

  5. this is for the best i hope girl finds peace cause social media and her impulsive nature to say things entirely without thinking is just destructive and hard to watch

finally don't need to be subjected to think pieces and pseudo-inflammatory essays she'll have to justify then snap at a journalist ❤️

Trent Reznor produced this?…..that is so random. Color me curious.

the album is fucking stacked with isntrumentalists surprisingly...

dave grohl, trent reznor, atticus, lindsey buckingham, among many other notable men of which i've no clue exist for any memorable reason to my gay little monkey mind
