  1. i don't want btd style bops, i think that'd be backsliding and ridiculous with where she is in her career but i do want more upbeat songs like ltli or peppers, i am getting tired of the wordy piano ballads that lack the catchiness and pop sensibilities of her early work. i appreciate them, the songwriting is absolutely gorgeous but they're not what i seek out with lana

  3. my review on first listen, and these are all potentially demos i know troubled paradise had some changes from leak to release: i adore the more industrial 2019 slayyyter-y cuts (i love hollywood, erotic electronic, purrr, plastic) and slayyyter is more than capable of making an 80s synthpop song. the songs overall are much better than troubled paradise lyrically and feel more lush. the music does sound like the vibe she's giving visually right now, but tear me open and purrr have no business being on the same album. it lacks cohesion, and slayyyter once again will occasionally fall into the trap of self-seriousness she set for herself on tp with songs like girl like me. slayyyter to me does not work as an Artisté, to me she makes fun music to be drunk to and is a pretty great pop writer. but even in 2019 when she still had genuinely great pop songs, the choruses were "my pussy tastes sweet like candy" or were at the very least campy like "oh me oh my." this is a very good album, one i see myself listening to a fair amount, i really respect her growth, but there's still something that feels...kim petras-y about her trajectory. she hasn't sold her soul in the same way, not at all, but i think she's at a really interesting point in her career. i'm interested to see how this will do critically, but i don't really see commercial superstardom for her despite her clear potential. it's very good. it's cute.

  4. it's genuinely so sad that she can't even seem to get out the visualizers for oot or a single mv for this era- fans complained during tp that it felt like some of the magic of self-titled was gone and now it feels kind of back but now we're getting no budget once again. this girl can't win

  5. song is really fantastic video is fun and hot troye is hot but fat people can be hot too and yeah he should have had anybody above 120 pounds in the video! BUT at the end of the day it does not matter its a song about sex, a very good one at that and gay people don't get enough music like this from within our own community. everyone is thinking too hard

  6. the first cd i was given was shakira oral fixation vol. 2 but i was like 4 i don't really count it, the first one i bought with my own money was roman reloaded (clean version bc i was like 8 :deadbanana:) btd was in like the first 25 tho. first vinyl i bought was jack white lazaretto solely for the cool stuff the vinyl did (i was like 12). choices!

  7. does anyone have a masterpost/tracker? i do have a feeling we will get something from her in q4 or at least 2024, but it's sad that she prob will get no press/hype/tour dates/video budgets since she deserves all these things so much

  8. i was a really huge poppy fan up through the i disagree era- i still think i disagree is her best, most cohesive piece of work containing her best songs. her pop albums are fun but have aged a bit and are lyrically quite weak most of the time (people remember aiag fondly for girls in bikinis and hard feelings but forget about a lot of the songs being lackluster). however, i am shocked that a lot of people myself included just glossed over how straight up mean to mars argo anything like me was. poppy's situation with titanic aside, it's a pretty evil song that still calls her a liar and poppy has not denounced that song
