i'm like 30% sure it's "later then hospitals"?? "laid up in hospitals"? idk?

and 90% sure it's "sand still on my feet"? but still interpreting :lolliney:

Yeah I think she says "laid up in hospitals, sand still on my feet"

But perhaps the BLM rallies were what ultimately came between her and Sean? There he was, with "shining stars" (makes me think of being patriotic) and "standing blue" (blue lives matter) and at the rally he really saw where she stood and that drove a wedge between them?

People say we’re too much alike

But maybe, finally that'll make it right

I really like the theory of it being about Sean and it being about how this is what came between them. That makes a lot of sense to me (theory originally from @strange weather )

Also, my bff is coming thru with amazing theories about this song, including wondering if this lyric says "alive" instead of "alike" - Basically referencing people who criticize folks protesting and saying they're overreacting, when really they are "taking initiative to change things and not just accepting the fact that 'this is how it's always been and there's nothing we can do about it'" (quoted directly from my friend). And how protesting and fighting for change will finally help things start to get better

Another BFF theory is that "father" could have the double meaning of her actual father and America.

    Quote

Could we do this dance again?
Do you think if I go blonde, we could get our old love back?
I guess this is really the end
I never felt jealous before this year, but I'm jealous now

Ive been thinking about these lyrics a lot... could she be talking about being blonde like she was when she was a child and have the same innocent, loving relationship with her father? Jealous of Patty stealing attention away from her? Especially since she and her mom have a tumultuous relationship?

Is it about going blonde to make her fans love her again? Jealous of fans moving on to loving different artists more than her? - this doesn't really fit with the theme of the song, just spitballin here lol

Going blonde for a lover? She references dying her hair a lot for her partners in other songs.

BFF wonders if it could be about being jealous of other countries? If you go with the theory of America as the father

    All of the above?

Obviously all speculation until we learn more (if lana ends up talking about these songs)

A lot to think about with this song :smokes3:

    It's

"Kind of wish I wish with my father

He could see us in all our splendor

All the things I couldn’t want for him."

Also I don't think it's open river but something like Old Mill River

    "Old Man River"

  4. it pisses me off to think that rat twink shoves his way to the front of the barricade every show he's been to and not letting other fans have a chance even tho he's got to interact with lana countless times, that behaviour shouldn't be rewarded

He doesn't shove his way lol. He gets Silver VIP for all the shows and camps out just like everyone else. He's not exactly doing anything drastic or different. He just happens to have the resources to go to a bunch of shows. Lana always says how happy she is to see him and some of his friends in front row. If he was some random creep I doubt she would be so happy to see him.

There's no secret to getting barricade. You just have to be able to buy the tickets and camp out. That's it. Anyone can do it, he just so happens to be intensely dedicated and does it all the time haha

  5. I don't think she needs time off, I think keeping busy would be best. What I want is her dad to fly out and join her though, if he already hasn't. Poor thing.

I completely agree. From what I could tell at the concert, she's determined to not let this keep her from doing her favorite thing - singing. Writing and singing are her passion, I think time off would only make her more sad.

  6. This was an absolutely incredible show. This was my fourth time seeing her with my best friend and We were about 7 people back from the stage on the floor. I cried so much haha. Seeing her cry absolutely broke my heart, and when we all sang Love together and we all put up our lights, the whole arena was glowing. When I first heard that song when it came out, I cried because she was telling us it was all going to be okay. Last night we got to the return the sentiment and it felt so, so special.

Also her cover of Scarborough Fair was an unexpected favorite of mine from last night. I 100% need a studio version to fall asleep to every night.
