    So I was just at a pub and as I walked in they were playing Girls Night Out and then 1999 came on and then a few minutes later...No Angel, I think it’s safe to say a homo was hogging that AUX cord

    I was thinking why CTMP wasn't released until  listened to the lyrics carefully and i think it's because of this line "I just wanna have some fun been working like a young kardashian" maybe she wasn't allowed to say their name? lawsuit? idk 

    i really hope not because not only is the song a certified bop, but that one lyric would be the one that would hook the locals

     

    the school-age youngsters would also love the "now i got them good grades now i wanna go dumb" (i'm 6 years out from school but still relate)

    Then in 2015 she changed her sound again, obviously her vision for XCX3 being much more pop - but experimental. Vroom Vroom marked the beginning of the 3rd album era and she even stated she wanted it to be the first single from the album. Atlantic obviously didn't want to push the SOPHIE tracks (being too inaccessible for the GP),

     

    ok, so i totally understand the viewpoint that you have in regards to the label being apprehensive to the SOPHIE sound, but this was the same year that Bitch I'm Madonna came out... like, the sound was accepted by the GP  (I've had locals single out that song specifically as a highlight from madge's album) I'm not sure if it was a lucky move by madonna, or if the sound itself was accepted by the GP? (I can imagine charli herself singing the song and it working just the same)
