My masculine, near-30, straight-ass self gets DOWN to some 1999... I think it works more than well enough as some good, mainstream radio pop? Idk, I’m just not ashamed to admit it... which does seem to be a “problem” in the Charli fandom actually. I see dudes crawling out of the dark in comment sections all the time saying things like “guilty pleasure” or “I normally don’t like stuff like this but...” or like “Is it weird that I’m a straight guy and like GNO?” I see this stuff all the time! Like it could very well be a hurdle in getting Charles to the next level, idk... lol

Could someone post a link to that Jam City collab snippet? I remember hearing it but I don’t remember how it went...

She sounds great though... :flutter: But I mean no, she isn’t the greatest singer ever, she herself admits to this... but her voice is unique and CAN sound really great when she tries... and she’s high energy, and it’s about the songwriting, the production, her hustle... everything. The creative drive... and her personality really comes through in everything she does. Her focus on the future... self-awareness... That’s like what it means to be an XCX fan IMO... Music is way more than just being able to sing well. Somehow I really connect with what Charli is doing... I like her willingness to go against the grain, and to do it so confidently. She’s definitely more “alternative.”

I wouldn’t say that... it’s definitely catchy and fits the Vroom Vroom “brand” to a T... I mean, just my opinion. But I get what you’re saying:.. it’s way less of a lead single and more of a “cult favorite” type of song. It’s just crossed into more obscure territory which is why it didn’t work for TV audiences. But it’s tough because it IS so catchy. It’s just that people have to be open to hearing something left-field and most people have no taste lol, so it just didn’t work.

Honest question... Why? Why though? Like ok, "Bounce was poorly received by the GP on "XYZ" late-night show, so therefore, CTMP is bad." This is basically what they're saying. Or GNO, or whatever... completely different songs, the entire idea of the album... and which, I mean, GNO ended up getting released anyway? It makes NO sense... absolutely ZERO sense!

Woah, this is wrong on so many levels... like I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m saying if true, the label’s logic is so bad! Basing an entire album around the reception of one song, let alone not just writing it off as maybe an iffy song selection for a major late-night show debut. Like ok, maybe Bounce is an “acquired taste” or a nice track to disrupt the pace on an album, or at the very least a B-side, but why didn’t they just have her debut CTMP or something? That’s way too heavy of a consequence for one performance. Wow, Atlantic is horrible... like there’s so many other ways to handle that situation, and they just jumped to the extreme conclusion. Horrible.

As much as I feel that lol it wouldn’t happen... Ughh, the GhostHaus mix... IS... ITTTTTT..... :defeated: everyone....

OK... I was just out jamming RNR... and the DROP! It's like my car had become a mobile, sound aquarium. The drop hits and it's like I'm submerged and swimming in bass. WOW. :toofunny: Charli, A.G., and SOPHIE. PC Music, future-pop trifecta... :defeated: They really deserved our cash for this one.

The biggest things for me are those loud "frizzy" synths in the intro and bridge... I really don't like them, especially in regards to this song. The more "ambient" bridge from SXSW? Much better... I liked the shorter intro, that didn't go straight into the chorus, and I think the final bit of the bridge, the BOOM BOOM, really just takes away from the build... loses all momentum lol. I just found the GhostHaus remaster here though and it's basically what I think the song should be like. :defeated:

Wow, what a monumentous day at Choliboards... ROUND & ROUND... I don't want to get too deep into the track, nobody wants to hear it ... I enjoy it... the drop sounds really good in my car lol... but I still think the SXSW version was the better song. To keep it brief, I just feel like it was more cohesive sounding and had a more natural flow and build. Little touches that set it above this one IMO. There are just some jarring elements to this version that never really did it as much for me personally, but I'm sure I'll overlook this stuff after a while. That chorus though... the synth line, and harmonizing synth bass... ICONIC vocal melody ... It always puts me in the best mood lol. I really don't understand how Charli didn't seem to want to go on to polish up and finish the song.

I would pay like $50+ at this point, to officially have the song... honestly... Just take my money Charles! lol

There was an amazing extended intro mix of Vroom Vroom that was always used back in the pre-Vroom Vroom EP days... anyone know what I’m talking about? What was it?
