    Honestly sometimes I feel that we overestimate her. I don’t think she’s as smart as I thought she was... I agree that the use of ‘resist’ and ‘colonized’ in the same context like that is highly offensive even though I believe in the freedom of word use in poetry.

     

    If she were speaking clearly about how depression is violently colonizing her and killing her and taking all that makes her her, that would have maybe sounded more poetic and adequate. But the whole poem seems silly and not up to a word like this

    It’s pretty obvious Lana doesn’t care about us anymore. She’s doing the same thing she did with her friends pre fame. I remember when I was able to see her Facebook, she allegedly deleted all of her friends phone numbers and just ghosted everyone and I’m sure she’ll do the same to us one day. She’ll escape to some secluded place in California, never seen again :defeated:

    Yup, pretty sure she never really did care that much about her fans and I don’t say that to be rude or offensive but what I mean is that she’s always said she never planned on getting famous and that she prefers the quiet life and that she ‘just wanted to sing’. And lately it’s been kind of showing that the rush of being famous has worn out and that maybe she isn’t ready to handle the responsibility and commitment that comes with being famous.

     

    Tbh I need to find a way to detach myself from her ‘personally’ and only stan the music but it’s so damn hard!

    Further confirmed that she views tours and shows etc as just an amorphous obligation (unless it's in CA, then she'll do like 10 shows in one state)

    Exactly and I need to find a way to accept this because I am still so damn disappointed. It’s the worst thing ever when a person you love so much and are so excited to see doesn’t seem to reciprocate the feelings. Honestly I almost wish she didn’t put that apology video up because it only confirmed to me that she really doesn’t realize or grasp just how big of a deal this cancellation was for us non US citizens

    I want to re-iterate that I'm glad she said something, it's not her fault (if) she was sick, and as far as the fillers go, whatever ...

     

    but

     

    She seems defensive and almost passive-aggressive in that video. Like, she made a point of listing all the other shows she has coming up - as if to say, "why are you bitches so mad? Look at all this other shit I'm doing" and my friend pointed out that she's also wearing that shirt that says "It's a beautiful Sunday to leave me alone. Double agent"

    True. Honestly after this video I’m 100% sure she wasnt sick and was just lazy and couldn’t be arsed to go all the way to Europe.

    Although she did look a bit ‘down’ too?

    If that were the case, it's a bit ironic that one of the few shows she didn't cancel in Europe is the Italian one.

    I was starting to believe she's facing some kind of mental illness, or is experiencing a depressive episode (even if it had been caused by not being able to perfom due to a physical condition). It was the only thing in my eyes that justified this absolute silence from everyone, probably due to personal shame and respect and privacy for her situation. I mean, all people around her (Rob, Chuch, Sean) are posting on social media like nothing happened, so she can't be THAT bad - I hope. She (or above all, her team) were perfectly capable of taking 10 minutes of their time to type or record a message adressing the issue for everyone to see, instead of that cheap pre-made commercial email sent to the venue and then to the ticket buyers. 

    I just can't understand... The context in which this happened and the apparent normal behavior last week followed by this sudden disappearance ever since leaves me no plausible excuses for this behavior. I'm trying to be kind because I still love her a lot, but I can't say I'm not dissapointed and hurt by this, and I wasn't even attending this leg.

    This is so wel said and makes a lot of sense.

     

    Lana baby if you need anything DM me, I’m a psychiatrist.

    I'm sorry to hear.

     

    She's apparently sick and lost her voice. She didn't cancel the tour intentionally, so why are y'all butt hurt. Imagine you were sick and had to sing on stage, how does that work?

     

    We are not ‘butt hurt’. Being butt hurt implies that we are unjustifiably upset, and obviously we have every reason to be.

    If she were so devastatingly sick, I doubt that she didn’t know earlier. Cancelling last minute and completely disappearing is plain rude.

    No one is blaming her for being sick (which we are not sure of anyway), we are reprimanding how she handled the situation. But it’s ok, I was like you, I used to be in denial refusing to admit when she did anything wrong and I’m assuming that you’re not as affected by the cancellation as many of us are

    So my story is:

    I had flown into Paris specifically for the concert. Coming from a ‘3rd world country’ I had spent weeks preparing papers to apply for a VISA + booking hotel rooms and tickets in the context of a new economical crisis in the country.

    But i was worth it. I was going to see Lana again after so many years (Last time was in 2013 when she came to my country)

    And I was SO damn excited. I didn’t care that her shows were lazy and that her voice wasn’t the best lately. I just wanted to SEE her, to be in the same space as her, to watch her move

    I was listening to her music nonstop for months to express my excitement

     

    And then this happens. It was like a slap in the face. I was so heartbroken.

    Not just bc it was cancelled but I’m heartbroken because I lost all the admiration I had for her. I don’t idolize her anymore. But I think i needed this to happen because my obsession was getting out of hand.

    I didn't read all the answers to this thread nor the comments on the status, so I'm sorry if there's repetition in what I'm saying, but answering the Lorde quote in the thread I just want to say that singing "I'm nothing without you" has nothing to do with feminism it's just one person expressing their love to another person. I'm not saying that this kind of 'you're my everything' love is healthy I'm just wondering why it has to be related to feminism? It's not like saying me as a woman, am nothing without you, a man.. Am I making sense, I don't know.. It's never an issue when a male singer sings it anyway.

     

    Now as things people tend to refer to when speaking about this subject, like when she says she'd do anything for him and even "hit me my darling", I just want to say (speaking from experience) that you can enjoy being submissive in a relationship and still be a feminist, you can like being dominated by your man in certain ways/circumstances and still want women and men to have the same rights and be equal in society; I mean your personal preferences can be separated from your general views/standards.

    I was really tempted to get her signature on my left boob heart tattooed right after I met her but I managed (with the very maximum of will power that I have) to let my mind take over the emotional wreck I was on that day.

     

    I still want something related to her & I've been thinking about the line "Blurring the lines between real and the fake" for a while now because I absolutely love/relate to it, but I don't knowww

    Yes, but christian church is very historical institution who influenced whole western mentality. And every religion has their own sacred symbols who shouldnt be depriciate by people who are not even religious. Lana can be glad she is messing up with christianity which is very unrestricted now. Because if she does it with Islam she would be persecuted.  Are the persons who have filmed Mohammad´s life not in the light of Quran still being chased ?

     

    I do agree with you on some points but I thought the alleged story of the video insinuated that Adam and Eve are in fact the symbol of innocence and purity? 

    I'm not a religious person but I respect other people's beliefs and being objective here I really like the idea and don't see why it could be offensive.
