SpoilerI can't believe she missed out on a possible smash hit by not releasing Used to Know You (feat. Ava Max) as single. She wouldn't have pushed all those other singles instead if she were truly committed to selling out x

Some of my thoughts after first listen:
SpoilerCRASH: Great opener, it's obviously very 90s influenced I definitely hear some New Jack Swing elements as well. 9/10
New Shapes: This one I didn't feel at all at first but I'm starting to warm up to it. it's a grower. 7/10
Good Ones: Very solid bop and I will die on this hill tbh 10/10
Constant Repeat: This was the first new track that clicked for me. Definitely one of my top 3. 10/10
Beg For You: Yeah... I hate to say it but this still sounds bland to me. I love Rina, I love Charli but this just doesn't do it for me. At least it flows better within the album idk. 6/10
Move Me: Hmm... This will require more listens. Love the vibes tho. 7/10
Baby: This is a banger sorry. Wish the chorus was less repetitive but this will do. 9/10
Lightning: Another fave. Explosive chorus. Killer production. An instant classic 10/10
Every Rule: It's giving 90s pop ballad and it's pretty great at being just that. 7/10
Yuck: I absolutely love this. Probably my favorite song off the new bunch. This is a different kinda vibe yet it sounds so distinctively her. 10/10
Used To Know Me: A fun, mindless, Ava Max-esque euro-bop which is always welcome in my books. 9/10
Twice: Queen of ending her albums/mixtapes on a high note. 9/10
This was a fun listen overall. Not as ambitious as her previous projects tho but it's still a great, cohesive collection of bops and we love her for that x

I think it's safe to say that this album is definitely among her best. After COCC, I have to admit that my expectations were very low, and I was worried for this album. But she came through again. This has a very raw and unpolished feeling to it, which I like. Not everything is hitting me on first listen though. It took me a while to appreciate Black Bathing Suit; The horns on IFCLD add a nice touch to end the song, Dealer, well.. she kinda grew on me and makes more sense in the context of the album. Thunder was a very pleasant surprise. Those opening strings are heavenly and her vocals shine throughout the song. One of her all-time best for sure. Anyway, my top 3 for now: Thunder, If You Can Lie Down, Violet for Roses.

i think SNL played a bigger role in BTD (and her following albums) getting panned by critics but whatever she's winning now

the interlude is quite iconic. the way we were begging her for a jazz album only for her to bring trap lana back from the dead

I haven't been this hyped for a Lana single since MAC. I have a feeling this is going to be one of her best ever.

And the fact that she's already working on another album too
We don't deserve her

Arcadia will snatch, I can feel it
The fact that she's about to top NFR as her best album
The fact that this is about to wash miss COCC and erase it from our collective memory
We are not worthy

But she's literally giving them ammo by putting Dealer out to the world

With summertime (sadness) finally starting, i've been diving back into this album and I found myself listening to it a lot lately. I wore this album out back in 2017 and kinda forgot about it after NFR. It's never been one of my favorites but it was the first Lana album I listened to and the one who started my stan journey as you can tell by my username. I've also grown to appreciate its messy tracklist and its chaotic soundscape, i think there's a charm to it and she pulls it off rather well. I remember being very critical of the "politically charged" tracks for being kinda clumsy lyrically (couch Roachella cough) but I find them pretty reflective of the time they were released in and its so interesting listening to them now, given how the political climate changed especially in the US these last years. And ofc the bangers still bang. This album will always have a special place in my hear for its nostalgic value <3
