  1. i wonder how the album will continue lyrically, in the second part of WW she says "hot coffee, i'm better - so i turn" it makes me wonder if she's chronicalizing her treatment or healing process from all of the things that have burned her. her mom, her man in BB, her dad who didn't step in when her mom did it. it would make sense if she's talking about healing from things that burned her including the critics too which we haven't really gotten a song about yet. unless you think about the "let's rewrite history i'll do this dance with you" as a line referring to the critics who dance back and forth with saying she's a bad artist who glamorizes abuse to giving her total critical acclaim. i just hope theres at least one or two other songs about the critics and not just a double meaning line in one song. like you're coming for revenge, let's get 2-3 songs about the critics. don't beat a dead horse and let that energy get stale though. just enough to make your point and move on also now that she said she won't be a wildfire maybe we're moving on from candle in the wind on this album. thank fuckin god oooo what do you guys think is the new red dress/pale moonlight? we had candle in the wind between 2/3 albums (if you count Yosemite from LFL) we're still getting blue, she still loves that color/word
  2. i guess gardenias are the flower for this era huh
  3. I think that's why I love Wildflower so much because when Mike said "Classic Lana" I had no idea this is what he meant. He was talking about some strings and orchestra but it turns out he was also meaning lyrically, she's writing the most Lana stuff and it's so fucking good. I cant wait to hear the rest of the record ughhhhh I hope she randomly drops the album without saying anything like she initially did the singles
  4. theres still so much more to come. billie eyelash, possible adele, nicki minaj, honestly prolly another taylor swift, modest mouse, maroon 5, rise against, tony bennett x gaga 2, drake, and then greta van fleet, st vincent and j cole all dropped albums already. does lana deserve a grammy? yes. will she ever get one? it's unlikely. BB could be the best album ever and still get snubbed by someone like Beck or Modest Mouse or someone fucking random. that goes without saying Chemtrails
  5. also we literally have 30 people in here why are posts still being moved at this point. i'm not gonna move to the 3 single thread. like i get the point from a few days ago but posts are being moved there to die like.... @Elle can moving the posts stop now since it's been a few days and traffic has died down? talking about the songs is talking about the album which is what this thread is for
  6. i like it because it's like a double entendre. its as if she's saying she's screaming for BLM but she's also saying she's screaming for the women who get denied their own fragility and their own feelings, which was the point of QFTC, she just failed to get her point across through the post... its similar writing shes always done, honest and to the point when looking at it twice. and it's true, she's not lying she was at a BLM rally/protest thing in LA last summer/fall time. "he could see us in all our splendor" is kind of what tells me it's a double entendre
  7. That's interesting. You're allowed to feel that way!! Please don't feel like you aren't allowed to feel any way or criticize her music! You're ALLOWED to thats what makes the discussion fun! In some way, I agree with you that it's deeply personal but more blunt than Hope which is strange to me. But it also is so real and honest that I like it a lot. Who knows, maybe once the "my story" era is over we'll get another record that's different. This one for me though, so far, is giving me some sort of discomfort and anxiety. I can only listen to the songs at certain times because of that. Which kind of evokes UV feelings for me because those songs felt so personal too, but this seems even more so I think. Even though it makes me uncomfortable, I can say at least it's VERY well written and I love the lyrics from all 3 of the songs we have so far
  8. this is a great point, i love this!!
  9. I think this is specifically true about Wildflower Wildfire. The more I listen to it the more I realize how personal that track is. The first couple times i heard it i didn't care so much for it but now it makes me tear up, i actually love that song. Which I can say is the first time a LDR song made me feel that way in years Then again, she was trending with over 80k tweets the day the songs dropped. So who knows, maybe she was testing to show her management that she doesn't have to do much, all she has to do is drop songs and albums. That could've also been a test phase for a surprise album release like shes said she wanted to do in the past.
  10. just a heads up, whoever it was I think it was @Mer the lyrics are now on apple music
  11. COCC didn't really tank though? it was exactly what they expected as far as i'm aware.
  12. i think this would be the perfect album to release on her birthday if she's telling her story
  13. hooooe-klahoe-mahhhhh
  14. whoever that guy is could stop by my place if you know what i'm saying
  15. Okay so I have a few points that I need to make as far as Textbook and the theme of the album. The lyrics are very much the topic she said this album would be. "I'm writing my own story. And nobody can tell it but me" When she says "Let's rewrite history, I'll do this dance with you, you know I'm not that girl, you know I'll never be", I don't think she's talking to someone she's dating or a love interest. I think she's saying this to article writers which makes a lot of sense. It makes me wonder if she's going to continue into the "my past" thing with this record. Also, I love the vocals on the second verse of WW. Those shaky, jazzy vocals. We haven't gotten that from her in so damn long it felt fresh again. Reminded me so much of Paradise
  16. wait lana hid the post about the songs on insta now? wtf is she dooooooing
  17. she just woke up to post about the songs
  18. ooo i wonder if we're going back to the "daddy" days soon on this album
  19. what i'm curious about is how these songs have given us a taste of the album... like how will the rest of the album flow? where do these tracks fit? why did she pick these three to release right now? ugh so many questions
  20. whoever is moving the posts i know you see me, can you like.... not. sincerely, the entire forum thanks
