OMG THE TASTE JUMPED OUT. Omanko, Kristine & I Will are my favs from NTMT!!!

I'm mostly looking forward to Enjoy Your Life & You! From the snippets we've heard they both sound like the biggest bops on the record so far. HH and SS are good but they're not BOPS. I am feeling positive about the Fear side of the album though, as Marina said it'd be more upbeat and so I think Love is for the more mid tempo tranquil happy chill songs. Also, her best songs are always the depressing ones so let's hope Fear delivers!

TNWWY is the I’m Not Hungry Anymore of this era lmao. INHA is a BOP tho and should’ve replaced at least one of the songs on Froot. TNWWY sounds like a good song and a I really like the message. Truly cannot wait for L+F it feels so far yet so close aaah!

I truly think this is one of Marina's best era's. She seems so happy with the music she's making and releasing, not just talking about the content of the music (as Fear is most likely full of sad bops), but overall. I think Superstar is a beautiful song and contemporary pop music that is unmistakably Marina in tone, style and production. I love everything from the verses to the chorus to the bridge. Fresh is definitely the defining word of this era.

I hope she has more than one or two UK dates, I love her so much and the first gig I ever went to was Marinas with my dad when I was like 14 and she came outside after dressed as Electra Heart and I met her but was too shy to say anything so my dad asked her to sign my bag because I had nothing else on me. Also my phone had died just before from filming the gig. Aaaah I need to redeem this moment!

Personally I think the video was absolutely perfect for the song. The visuals are breathtaking, it's super cinematic, Marina stands out so well wearing all red against the white white snowy landscape, it's very striking, visually pleasing, and artistic. Almost looks like it could accompany the lead song to a movie soundtrack, in the best way.

Wow it truly is a beautiful song and makes me emotional and nostalgic hearing new Marina for the first time in a long time, I do think it's not as powerful as her previous leads I mean Hollywood, Primadonna, Froot...they're just so defining of each era and this one is more of an album track to me. That being said it's one of those songs that you'll definitely listen to again and again, it's not forgettable and it's not boring. Just not lead worthy I don't think...

Is it like lead single good or track 9 on the album good that nobody really cares about but the gays and true fans

Remember when Welsh-Greek singer Marina Lambrini Diamandis appropriated Latin culture on “Baby” by singing over a Latin guitar riff? At least she had the decency to feature Luis Fonsi... I mean what was Kim thinking having a slightly Urban Bridge without a black rapper to cover herself!!!

I'm sorry I just had to defend Kim and the meaning of cultural appropriation because it is a serious issue and when these discussions arise, and you have the opportunity to educate people and help them to understand how what they're saying/doing is wrong, then you should, no matter the subject. Cultural appropriation is very real, I mean how does it feel (for those of you that are gay men) if you come across a straight girl using gay slang and talking about how much they love RuPaul's Drag Race (things that are a big part of gay culture), yet find gay couples gross and say that it's wrong for a man to be effeminate...

Kim is absolutely not appropriating anyone’s culture. Do you even know what cultural appropriation means? It’s when you take/are selective of the aspects of someone’s culture that you like opposed to the rest of them which you don’t. For example, white girls wearing bindis because they like the aesthetic yet making fun of/bullying Indian women for other aspects of their culture. There are white rap artists too like Eminem and Iggy Azealea to name just two, so are they appropriating rap/hip-hop culture by making music belonging to that genre? Regardless of working with black musicians/producers. As a white person if I make a hip hop style or inspired beat all by myself and decide to rap over it in my bedroom because I really love rap and it’s my aspiration to become a rap or hip hop artist, does that mean I’m appropriating culture? Get a life. Also, people like Gwen Stefani have taken aspects of reggae and ska music and infused it into their own because of their love and appreciation for it. We can’t label a certain genre of music as only appropriate for people of certain skin colours to make or see it as only okay or acceptable if they make this music with black people. That’s actually a worse mentality to have if you ask me. Don’t restrict anyone’s creativity and let them be inspired by and pay tribute to what they want.

1,2,3 Dayz up is clearly the standout of this EP, it is a MAJOR BOP. I absolutely love the instrumental and vocal production, the bridge is amazing and really breaks the song up and elevates it, especially when it builds back up to jump into the chorus again. I love Homework, think the Lil Aaron feature fits really nicely, its a beautiful song with those 2000s vibes. If U Think About me is OKAY, it's not very memorable and it's too similar to CDB and Dark Part of Your Heart (which is better than both IUTAM and CDB). I think she just wanted to get it out there before she moves onto the album w/ new collabs regarding different producers and a shift in her sound as it definitely sounds a lot older than 1,2,3 Dayz Up.

What really upsets me about Sky is that she could be putting out a lot more music if she truly wanted to. She claims she doesn’t have support from her label constantly and mostly blames it on them, well look at people like Charli XCX who has stated a numerous amount of times that the delay of her 3rd album is all her labels doing as they don’t think there’s enough hype around her to drop an LP, regarding all the statistics and market research etc. HOWEVER, she doesn’t just leave her fans with nothing but empty promises and 3 second Instagram snippets of potential bangers (talking about Sky), she makes sure to record and drop an EP, 2 full length mixtapes, and about 5 singles since its release. The mixtapes which she herself tweeted and confirmed are clearly her follow up albums but disguised as “mixtapes” so her label doesn’t bother her or stop her from releasing anything. THAT BEING SAID, I do realise they’re different people and have different contracts and blah blah blah, but I truly think she is not pushing it or making things happen because SHE DOESNT WANT TO. Maybe she will deliver in the next few months, I hope to God she does because she’s my favourite artist of all time, but we’ve been let down too many times and the false hope we’re always given is absolutely disrespectful for fans who’ve stuck with you since 2010 and all you’ve released is literally 1 album in that time (disregarding EPs and singles and collabs here). I remember in like 2016 she posts an IG photo of the NTMT music video with a caption like “next week we’ll be starting where we left off” or something very similar, and I was so stupidly happy thinking she was confirming next week you’ll have the first single WHICH IS WHAT IT SOUNDED LIKE AND LOOKED LIKE AND SMELT LIKE AND FELT LIKE AND TASTED LIKE...BUT IT WAS A LIE. I’m sorry. Also, it doesn’t take somebody 4/5 years to make a second album, I don’t care what their creative process is it absolutely doesn’t take that long, and if she claims it does then that means she’s clearly not a very good artist because how can it be that hard to come up with 10 or 10 songs. Jesus you think she’d be making the Sagrada Familia of albums for the length its took. Also the difference between other artists who’ve had large gaps between albums (Marina, Vamprie Weekend, etc.) is that it’s not their second album!!! It’s like their third or fourth or fifth...

Smh 99.9% of the questions Sky has answered on her Instagram Q&A are un music related or at least not related to her own work. She’s deliberately not answering us when we ask valid questions about what we really want to know about.
