Wow I just listened to PDCM and it’s actually incredible?! Marina Marina Marinaaaa!!! Why did you scrap this prefect pop song! See this just proves that her going for simpler lyrics and more of a poppy sound isn’t why this era has been so disappointing, it’s just the songs she has chosen for the official tracklist (at least for LOVE). I mean that bridge and the ending of PDCM WHOAAAAAH the repetition of “please don’t call me no” with the heavenly backing vocals. Now that’s how you make a BOP. This could’ve been a lead single...

Okay wtf is going on. Just saw a post on popjustice about somebody already having their FEAR vinyl and they said “I only listened to Fear once so far, can give more thoughts later. One thing I will say is You is different to the demo snippet, it doesn't have the big 'YOU!'. Still great.” —ugh that big chorus of voices on the “YOU!” is what got me so excited for his song and also I know it’s legit because they posted photos of the vinyl inside and out...

On a lighter note, I replied to somebody earlier saying they had a dream they heard You and it was amazing, I literally just woke up from a dream where I heard it and it was 3 minutes of slow jazz percussion and then the snippet we’ve heard right at the last 10 seconds. Why am I trolling myself like this. Lmao.

I certainly hope so! I mean that snippet of You is already better than the whole of LOVE so far! ...maybe because it actually sounds like a song by Marina?

This is a weird era for Marina and for Marina fans overall. I feel like although the songs she’s released from LOVE so far are good pop songs (much better than the uninspired crap that’s constantly being churned out by mainstream artists and overplayed on the radio) they don’t feel like Marina songs, and are awful representations of who she is as an artist. I agree with a lot the comments that have been shared on here recently about the lyrics and melodies being a lot simpler because that’s how she’s feeling - simple and happy - and there’s nothing wrong with that, but it shouldn’t cause her writing to lack in quality. I also get that she’s grown up from the person she was on the Family Jewels but how can a song like Orange Trees come from the same artist who made songs such as Hermit The Frog and Mowglis Road? Even when she was writing with Dr Luke she maintained more of her originality, quirkiness, and poetic lyricism than she has now. It’s truly sad to see an artist you really love just loose what makes them special. Like I said these pop songs are still great, but that’s because I also enjoy dumbed down simple easy listening pop music, and you can’t deny that that is what most of LOVE is (I mean OT and True?!) but I feel bad for the MATD fans who don’t and have lost their faith in Marina. That being said, I hope FEAR will prove me wrong and will prove Marina still has whatever it is that made her so damn wonderful in past eras musically. Perhaps LOVE’s downfall is simply due to the fact that Marina has never really written positive songs and her magic lies in angsty sad bops?Here’s hoping FEAR is full of them and we get the old Marina back for part 2! That would definitely make LOVE easier to accept from the artist formerly known as Marina and the Diamonds...

I really feel like You is gonna be one of the biggest bangers from the record as a whole. I don’t get why Eclipse keeps dissing it, the snippet he leaked sounded amazing and it’s probably changed and been updated since the version he has anyway...

Idk about anyone else but I’d love to hear a really stripped back version of Superstar. I wish Marina did some live acoustic videos like she did with Electra Heart songs like Lies and others.

So when do y'all think FEAR will leak? I mean obviously we're gonna pay for and stream it (already pre-ordered from Marina's official store), but I can't wait any longer to hear certain songs like You and as the official album release is nearly 2 weeks away...it's hopefully gonna leak in full sometime soon right? Or do we think there'll be no leaks this era?

Seeing as everyone's doing it here's my ranking: Handmade Heaven - 10/10 Superstar - 7/10 (would be higher but think its a lil too overproduced) Orange Trees - 4/10 (least favourite) Baby - 8/10 Enjoy Your Life - 10/10 True - 6/10 To Be Human - 10/10 End Of The Earth - 9/10

The more I think about it, maybe she decided not to put TNWWY on the tracklist because it sounded too similar to songs like Enjoy Your Life and True? Also the message seems to be pretty much the same. Sadly I’d have preferred this song to something like Orange Trees (which I do like a lot), but TNWWY sounds like classic Marina and the title itself is such a powerful statement and gets to the point of what she’s been trying to say about what she’s learnt about herself over these last 4 years and what LOVE means to her?

Jesus Christ this album is SO good I’m S H A K I N G ! Enjoy Your Life is a total undiluted BOP and To Be Human is the classic Marina we’ve all been waiting for to show up on this record (sounds like it could’ve been from Froot or TFJ). True and The End of The Earth are also great pop songs and much better than anything she’s released for this album single wise so far. Really happy the rest of Love didn’t disappoint and none of these new songs will be getting a skip from me anytime soon. So happy we got it today wow and still excitement for part 2 on the 26th!

I hope so! I mean I’m in love with that To Be Human snippet but I’ve been gagging for Enjoy Your Life since she posted a clip on Instagram and seeing as she’s been releasing Love in tracklist order I’ll be super annoyed if she suddenly goes backwards one song at a time when EYL is next!

My ultimate fav Sky songs are One, 99 Tears, Everything is Embarrassing, Boys, YNT, I Will & Kristine. Also I'm On Top & 1980-99 (Ssion's song feat. Sky) are bops and worth a listen.

I don’t think we’ll have a video for the song anytime soon because in Sky’s tweet earlier this month she said “I really want to make a video for it”. Seeing as most singles have their video done by the time of release, even when not putting it out for a while after, maybe she just desperately wanted to actually put the song out as soon as possible (she only got the final mix this month)

I really like this release strategy tbh. When she first announced the release date for the album it felt quite long away but by releasing songs in tracklist order every month/week it’s allowed us to spend time getting to know the first few songs and give them their moment, rather than allowing them to be overlooked or skipped when all 16 songs are available. Also, by releasing Love first Marina is truly embracing the concept of the double album by treating them as separate and I think by Friday, as it’s getting close to the release date, we’ll either have Love in full or be getting a song from Love each week. Sadly she can’t do the same for Fear and let us have the album song by song because that’d really diminish the impact of actually releasing an album. I think she’ll definitely release at least 2 singles from Fear with videos though!
