I recently made a video for my ASMR channel of a few whispered Lana Del Rey songs. I figured there'd be a pretty big overlap of Lana fans and those who enjoy ASMR because I've heard so many people comment on Lana's lovely speaking voice. I also thought her themes and lyrics were perfect for a relaxing video.Just thought I'd post here for anyone who might enjoy. Feel free to discuss/share any other ASMR related content too. -
She actually had a fairly successful music career before she changed her style. Her old merch from 2013 is still on District Lines, and they don't sell merch for just anyone.
I have an old song of her's called Doesn't Mean I'm Wrong.
If you try to view her Twitter or old YouTube channel in the web archive, you can't. Her people requested them to be removed; most likely to protect her new image. Although, not all of her tracks are covered if that is what's going on.
The name she uses for songwriting credit is Moriah Rose Pereira (I have reason to believe that that is her real name). I'd say she's at least 24-years-old. She's lived in Franklin, TN as an adult and went to middle school in Boston, MA.
Holy shit, I also have "Doesn't Mean I'm Wrong." I would never in a million years have thought that was the same girl.

There is a second or two of silence at the end of all the tracks I have. I can detect a millisecond of the previous song in 'Raise Me Up' and 'Jump' but so little that I had never noticed before. I actually like the idea of a gapless album better.

Every time I hear "go, baby, go" in FMWUTTT it makes me think of "go, baby, go go!" from Cherry Lips. I had never contemplated any serious similarities between the artists' sounds, so it's funny to see that other people have made connections too.

That's crazy! And now I'm curious, what evidence? Is there a thread?
Yep. http://lanaboards.com/index.php?/topic/376-lana%E2%80%99s-fib-about-her-age-some-thoughts/?hl=1985

I've always read she was born in 1986, am I missing something?
Yes. Everything you will read publicly says she was born in 1986, but fans have found evidence from her childhood that she is a year older and starting lying about her age at some point in her early career.

It makes my heart hurt to hear her say these things. I'm sure she has been depressed for a long time, but to see her start revealing it so candidly reads like a cry for help. Like she's conflicted between desperately wanting to get better but being too exhausted to believe it's possible. She reminds me a lot of Cobain in how she feels about her fame. Hopefully I'm just projecting or reading the signs wrong.
This also makes me wonder if the need to lie/exaggerate about her past is part of her particular brand of mental illness.

I still don't know what did Lorde say about Lana... Was it when she said Lana sings about hollow opulent things (Hamptons, Bugatti Veyron, etc)?
All Lorde said was something about liking her music but not relating to it because all Lana sings about is cars and glamor and Lorde is a teenager who is all dark and agonized by her homework and new school shoes and stuff. It wasn't even a diss, just a critique on Lanas lyrics. It was really no big deal.
What I remember Lorde saying is that she heard the lyrics "I'm nothing without you" and thought it was a bad message to be sending to girls. People are going to hear a quote like that and think Lorde is in the right and standing up for feminism. But contextually, "Without You" isn't saying "a woman is nothing without a man" but more like "fame and success means nothing without love."
I hope FMWUTTT is about Lorde. She's a pretentious teenager who needs to stop running her mouth.

Every artist I would pair Lana with is dead. Elvis, Jim Morrison, Lou Reed, Kurt Cobain, etc. It sounds cliche and those artists probably wouldn't do collabs if they were alive today, but I see Lana as more in league with her idols than with other modern artists.

I wish I'd thought ahead before turning down that job at Target months ago. I would have jacked it no question and everyone would love me rn.

This is completely true. The boyfriend in her most recent video who she's so in love with is someone who she's been dating for 3 weeks after she cheated on her ex with him. She had been dating her ex for 2 1/2 years and cheated on him multiple times. (He talked about it on a Twitter post that he has since deleted.) This shows a really cold, callous side to her that I wish more people knew about. Doesn't change that I like some of what she says, but she shouldn't be praised as anybody's hero.
