they don't have to explain why she's greedy... taylor's actions speak for themselves

she most certainly cares about her career lol, just not in the same way especially since she doesn't really have to do anything anymore, she could just quietly drop albums if that's what she wanted to do and her fans will always be there

taylor swift is literally the only artist who's going to this extent to keep her album at the #1 spot, and just because somebody can technically do something, doesn't mean they should, obviously there is just no justification for selling 50+ album variants which are hardly different from the original project, especially in order to prevent other artists from being at the top, her only motivation here is insecurity and greed, i'm sorry but i just find it insane how anybody's defending her on this... but we all know how taylor swift fans can be

if it were ANY other artist releasing nearly FIFTY "variants" of their mid, bland album, especially in order to prevent other fellow artists from hitting #1 on the chart, something arguable meaningless anyway, they would be dragged to hell and back by the entire world it's beyond embarrassing for any artist to do that and it's also beyond embarrassing to see people defend her and act like it's no big deal, it's pathetic (and that's not to say that charli or any other artist shouldn't want to be at #1 or shouldn't want to succeed, but it's just so silly and ridiculous to see how desperate taylor is to stay at #1 even though it really doesn't mean all that much, ESPECIALLY since it ISN'T organic, in the slightest, in that case, it's pretty much meaningless)
  7. sirens is my 2nd favorite lana del rey album honestly... <3 so many INCREDIBLE songs, and some of her greatest lyrics can be found on sirens, despite it being recorded so early on in her career it really reminds me of my hometown on cloudy days in late fall and early spring, when the grass has lost it's vibrant green and the trees are completely bare, genuinely an underrated folk gem that deserves more love and recognition i have many favorites that i especially adore off of sirens, but peace is my #1, it just touches my soul so painfully and wonderfully <3

  9. OMG what a surprise! when we get new honeymoon themes for it's 10 year anniversary next year in september
  10. i don't how to properly dedicate an entire, full-fledged post about my love for ultraviolence, despite how much i do love born to die and honeymoon, it really is my favorite lana del rey album besides sirens and AKA, the fact that it's just so hard to have one favorite tells you how strong and wonderful her discography and her artistry is ultraviolence is a magnificent album with an incredible, irresistibly dark atmosphere... conjuring vivid, alluring images of late-summer storms, beaches, cigarettes, expensive cologne, cult leaders, dark eyeliner, and leather... songs like cruel world, west coast, and brooklyn baby will pull you in like waves of the ocean, not letting you escape, songs like pretty when you cry, fucked my way up to the top, and flipside crash down dry, hot, and hard like bright thunder against a black sky... and songs like old money, guns and roses, and is this happiness leave you in a smokey, intriguing haze of sorrow, fear, introspection, and nostalgia... the perfect album for sweltering, hot summers with stormy, gray skies
  11. AKA GREATEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME ALBUM OF THE CENTURY ALBUM OF THE MILLENIUM I WILL SCREAM IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS FOR ALL ETERNITY!!!
  12. friendly reminder that guns and roses is in fact one of her best songs and you all will DEAL!

currently bopping to telephone FT britney spears... i might like it better than the album version i fear!
  14. perhaps lasso will feature some minor, subtle elements of country music, like the dark, warm guitars featured on born to die, on tracks such as blue jeans and summertime sadness, or perhaps the general sound and cadence of the songs will be reminiscent of country music, sort of like how she described video games and ride as country songs, or, it may be more experimental, taking influence from a variety of different sources, almost like AKA, which undoubtedly features a country, folk, vintage americana sound, in songs queen of the gas station, oh say can you see, raise me up (mississippi south), and pawn shop blues, but even the songs that do not sound country or anything under that umbrella have that sort of feel, somehow, mermaid motel sounds way more reminiscent of the sea, or flashing, neon lights at an amusement park, but it fits in perfectly with the flirty americana of queen of the gas station, or the agricultural vulnerability of pawn shop blues, although she did sneak in a southern accent in the second verse of that one, i think it would be really cool and interesting if lasso felt reminiscent of AKA's wide scope of sounds and influences, vast, yet cohesive
  15. OMG I LOVE THIS AESTHETIC it's so southern gothic trailer park midwest deep-south nostalgic summer tuesday in 2011 very me!
  16. and it will feature a cover of spanish caravan
  17. omg this is so amazing! i would be SO incredibly nervous if i had this opportunity, one-on-one lunch with THE lana del rey? i couldn't eat, i could hardly speak... i would just be so nervous and stunned and starstruck... hopefully you manage to keep your cool lol!
  18. lana del rey when BCC news asked her about taylor's career and success instead of asking her about her own career and success
  19. nobody here HAS to like her, and we should be able to express our opinions, especially when they're clearly warranted, this is lanaboards, not taylorboards or anotherotherartistboards so we honestly should have the right and the ability to express our thoughts freely on other artists, however we see fit, as we aren't on a platform dedicated to them i can agree that for the most part that just simply going into a random artist's thread and talking shit about them for no reason isn't really good form, but the last time we did that was when she was releasing 390294092 versions of her album just simply because she couldn't fathom another artist (another female artist at that) being at the top for ONCE she's very clearly money-hungry, greedy, and selfish, and it's especially egregious considering the state of the world right now, i'm not saying she's the worst of the worst, and i can't act like every artist i listen to are magnificent people, i mean, nobody is anyway, but we have every right not to like her and we have every right to call her out on it, especially so since so many people practically worship her
  20. at least she can somewhat recognize that she's a money-hungry turbo-capitalistic who only cares about herself
  21. not necessarily when i feel tired or want to sleep, but whenever i don't feel my best (physically), my head hurts, or when i want to listen to music but don't want to hear anything too loud or energetic, i often listen to songs from lana's may jailer era (2005/2006) her acoustic and laptop demos, and old, acoustic folk songs, like from nick drake and such i was actually planning on making a playlist for songs like that, i'll have to do that today
  22. we really do need him
