I think there's two types of Lana fans, ones that like the UV album and those who like BTD and LFL. BTD and LTF are more catchy and light on a subject level. UV and HM seem to be darker and following a theme.

Maybe I'm a prude but it's hard not to notice it. I love cursing, but damn it's like girl's got a quota on how many f*cks are in the lyrics.

That's why I liked it so much. I couldn't stand UV or Honeymoon because most of the songs are very similar and indistinguishable from each other. I can see your side about a theme/sound consistent between all the songs on the album but I think it can be alienating.

I don't get the hate for LFL... is it just because the tone wasn't completely dark and depressing? Granted I was disappointed about Beautiful People, but there were so many good songs on there. Love, WTWWAW, Heroine, such good songs IMO.
