I fucking hate the strings at the start of 13 Beaches. It sounds stupid, tinny and obviously fake. It sounds like a cheap midi. Dan Heath is absolutely amazing at his arrangements and it was cute he was included on the album after being weirdly absent from Honeymoon, but I wish the song would have either segmented that as a short intro track, or just start with the piano at 0:28.

Actually no WAIT she retooled it into 'Fuck It I Love You' so in her mind it's still working, but in reality it sounds nothing alike. Her mind. EDIT:

Wow what the fuck is up with you people. I literally have no idea why you are talking about her being 'poor' or a prostitute in the new video. So far sure is doing karaoke, walking the docks at sunset, lounging on a yacht, and being a bartender. Besides the yacht thing (which I have been on a few times), I do all those things regularly and I'm not poor. I'm sort of insulted by the audacity. Furthermore, she is almost always playing a character or telling a narrative. It IS a simple life though. It sure resonates on the line 'I miss doing nothing most of all'. I think I was pissed by the time she teased the California clip on Instagram since I remember I was not impressed (with her teasing the 100th clip or whatever) and I had unfollowed her channel by then. Jokes on meeee - the song is absolutely amazing. I can't stop singing the first chorus! Amaaazing.

It's so self referential!! The song names are too - it lists Chelsea Hotel, Doin' Time and includes artists she references including Bowie and Joplin!

In Happiness is a Butterfly, when she sings about the 'babies' on tour lyf, she is talking about her back up singers, and Barrie.

Disappointment for who? I will reserve judgement until the album actually drops, but for me, the preview for Love Song has a dumb name now had a simplicity to it which seemed dreamy, carefree, and certainly more relaxed feel than the snippets that preceded it. It really painted a feeling of painful rose-tinted nostalgia. It's not exactly what I thought it would sound like, but I'm very happy with it.
