i was gonna say it would be so (fake) deep of charli to say “omg the mixing sounds bad cuz the song is supposed to represent anxiety and how sometimes its hard to speak your mind” or something. cuz ya know she wants to “push pop as far as it will go” lol

oh yeah. lol i completely forgot about 1999. and Boys. i guess since they were both spaced more than 6 months apart they just didnt feel like they were part of an album campaign with the common 3 or 4 month single rollout then the album. but still. she was teasing both Bounce and GNO as the second single, and we were all waiting for months and months, and then she’s like “the album’s delayed i might do a mixtape” then right after that i was like bruh we’re not seeing this album for at LEAST another 5 months cuz theres no way Atlantic would let her release a mixtape and then an album in like a month of space. and then in July we get Boys and she sorta half confirms it was the “official” single from XCX3 and we’re all like....so then what’s happening with ATAP?? and then after Boys lol the album was just dead cuz of the leaks.

can yall believe once we get Gone we’re finally gonna get farther than what happened with the original XCX3 with After the Afterparty being the first single and then never getting a second one

today is a glorious day. we won. like...we didnt even get this far with the last album. she finally did it. and i never thought we’d get here. BUT HERE IT IS

just wanted to say that i read an interview today where Marina commented on the lyricism of this record compared to the others: “The writing is more honest and direct. With Electra Heart, there was so much imagery stacked into those songs that it placed a barrier between the people listening. By comparison, Love + Fear doesn’t have the fantasy or illusory element that Electra Heart did.” And i TOTALLY see and get that. and thats why i don’t understand why everyone is complaining about the lyrics. they’re from marina, and she did the whole phase of writing like EH and TFJ, quirky but GOOD, and Froot with more adulty-sounding lyrics but still Marina’s way of speaking her mind, but with this album its very clean lyrics. like they arent messy, they’re simple and to the point. And regardless of what people say, i feel like its fresh from Marina, we arent getting the same old thing with just a different sound of the album. i do think that every album shes made is my favorite just because each one brings something different to the table. and each one will always have a special place in my heart
