and not to mention Neil’s pictures and emoticons of the waves. I see them as a direct reference to Fingertips’ lyrics about the “waves in the sea” and “call me Aphrodite as they bow down to me”.

He did state it as a fact.

I was joking… that’s why I also used that Lanacon

100%
and now I have the impression that simply because Lana said that it’s not a good song, people think that she hates it.
but I feel like - because it is a very personal and heartbreaking song - she doesn’t want to talk about it. I also think she meant “not a good song” in terms of a classic type of song, with a verse-chorus-verse structure.
but whatever, I’m my opinion Fingertips is a highlight in her discography.

QuoteAnd then now where I’m at, it’s just all the thoughts I’ve ever had in my head from the beginning that I can remember until now, like in a song called ‘Fingertips’. That would be my song that would be my least favourite song I’d ever want to talk about…
... and I can understand why. But that's what makes it such a masterpiece, imo.

and its nowhere near close to her best album. maybe if half of the songs were axed
Well, that’s your opinion. Don’t make it sound like it’s a general fact.

I never understood the hate for Beautiful. It's so delicate, I love that piano, the melody, the warmth of her voice. It's just.... beautiful.

Not having standard melody =/= unmelodic

Just now, evalionisameme said:This is easily her most unmelodic work- I need to listen to more but this is either going to be panned(
likely not because reviewers are scared of crazed fans)or heavily praised for not following what is considered good practice.
unmelodic?!

upon first listen, the standout tracks for me are the grants, a&w, candy necklace, margaret, paris texas, peppers, and taco truck. honestly, every song was amazing, but i need more time with some tracks. mainly, kintsugi. first listens are usually forgettable anyways.
Candy Necklace?

Can someone honestly answer me the theme or idea of Ocean Blvd? I get the whole family aspect, but songs like Peppers and Taco Truck take me all the way out.. even though they’re some of the best.
The way I see it:first part (ends with Grandfather) - family issues / nostalgia
second part (begins with Let in the light) - optimistic / friends / (new) love
So as a general theme I interpret it as a healing album, coming to terms with her past and accepting the present / future.

Me too, although I'm more curios about daddy For Whatever Reason's review.
