  1. Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive

    Metric - Help I'm Alive

    AC/DC - Highway to Hell

lol no but srsly, it's gonna be Pyramid Song by Radiohead. most perfect song for a funeral plus it gets me on a spiritual level. (bonus points for all the Egypt references since i've been obsessed with Egypt since i was five)

  2. Someone on Tumblr told me that she might be referencing to Jim Jones.

Here is what Wikipedia states about him:

James Warren "Jim" Jones (May 13, 1931 – November 18, 1978) was an American religious leader and community organizer. Jones was the founder and the leader of the Peoples Temple, best known for the mass suicide in November 1978 of 909 of its members in JonestownGuyana, and the murder of five individuals at a nearby airstrip, including Congressman Leo Ryan. Over 300 children were murdered at Jonestown, almost all of them by cyanide poisoning.[2] Jones died from a gunshot wound to the head; to this day it is unknown whether his death was a suicide. Jones was born in Indiana and started the Temple there in the 1950s. He later moved the Temple to California in the mid-1960s, and gained notoriety with the move of theTemple's headquarters to San Francisco in the early 1970s.

Don't really think that's the Jim we're searching though. I don't know, it just seems too easy that Jim is someone you can read on Wikipedia about. Still loving the Atlantic Group theory.

Nah, our Jim is someone who has Lana met personally and this one died years before Lana was born  :D

  3. I think I should make a Source Family mega post because I'm finding more and more connections to other songs and Lana in general as well not just with Ultraviolence. Would you all be interested in that?

DO. IT. I'm so so so interested in this.  :godlaugh:

  4. I wonder how Lana's Saturn Return/cusp of 30 milestone will affect her work. She sings so much about the currency of youth, I'm sure she obsesses over the idea of aging even more than most women. However, with a whole crop of pop stars and famous women still considered "young & beautiful" about to turn/recently turned 30, she's hardly in dire company.

saturn returns suck for everybody, so...

  5. some of it does come from there, but I swear to god everywhere i look, fucking comment sections on youtbe, twitter, facebook, anywhere the first thing that comes up has to be something along those lines. that, or something so stupid that I wanna stab myself in the eyes.

lmao same. you need to move to a part of the world where people don't care about stuff like these, like eastern europe :D

  6. I always wonder how we (people these days) can manage to be such oversensitive individuals and yet still be desensitized to the real things that are wrong with this world. Lana talking about feminism or Kurt Cobain is a fucking headline, but idk, murder isn't.

nah, it's just a new tumblr trend that has taken over some parts of the usa. wait until tumblr gets shut down lmao.

  7. I see "to glamorise" is the new "it" word nowadays. Yeah she sings about death a lot, yeah she liked the idea of dying young and free, at the top of your powers and fame in some songs.  But fuck it, she is artist, she has her own artistic persona. She isnt politician to make some official statement for the country. Im sick of the fact how art is now supposed to be morally perfect, "healthy" and politically correct.

YES. lana is not a role model, she isn't here to tell you how to think or feel, she doesn't have to do anything 'right and correct' for you. she's simply an artist who's telling her life story and sharing her feelings. the whole think is so fucked-up because everybody is judging lana for feeling unhappy and thinking it would be much easier for her if she was dead. depression is a mental illness you can't control so a few 'pls lana stop glamorizing death you're so talented and have so much ahead of you!!!!1' sentences don't help her at all. if lana feels like she wants to live a wild life and die young, she has the right to. if she's scared of death, there is nothing wrong of it too. everybody has their own personal relationship with death and we can't tell anybody shit about it.

    smh.

  8. I think Old Money is about the 7 year relationship she had. I don't think it was a full on 7 years, maybe that's why she says

"But if you send for me you know I'll come, And if you call for me you know I'll run. I'll run to you"

Because he's the love of her life, she'll leave everything behind if he needs her / wants her back. I think West Coast and Shades of Cool are also about him.. any chance that he's cuban?

I cant help but think that maybe k & this guy are the same person.

i always thought shades of cool was about barrie. for me the song is about someone struggling with depression and lana has said a lot of time how barrie lives in his own dark world ("i can't break into your world") and how she can't really help with him ("but i can't fix him, can't make him better, and i can't do nothing about this strange weather").

for some reason i think that west coast is not just about one guy, i don't know why, it's just this feeling i have. idk if if she sings about k, but i think we have speculated how he's from san diego? (~~down on the west coast)

also in lana's time seven years are probably like three or four in real life lmao. i just can't trust her when it comes to years.

fun fact: i had the longest nap and dreamed how k had written a tell-all book and exposed lana and their relationship lmao.

  9. ugh

lana obviously struggles with depression and believe me, the 'you know only one life!!! live it!!' cliche doesn't help

i get that she's upset about how everybody glamorizes the death of her father but she doesn't have the right to tell ppl how to feel about death.

"All goes onward and outward, nothing collapses,
And to die is different from what any one supposed, and
    luckier."

    Walt Whitman

  10. Tbh sometimes it's weird to stan for her ~~~dangerous girl personality and experiences, because in her songs she seems so wild and crazy and her real life seems nothing like that :pft:  She probably was very wild in her past but we know so little about it...

Also she needs to write an autobiography (I doubt she'll ever do it tho lol) and answer the most important questions of the generation: Was she a go-go dancer in Alabama?2?? How many daddies were there???222?? What happened in that cult she joined when she came to NYC??? And most importantly: when does K come out of prison bc I'd tap that. :creepna:
