what instrumental albums have leaked so far? I've been trying to get into instrumentals lately

message me. I have everything official and fanmade unofficials as well. off the top of my head Speak Now, Red, and 1989 instrumentals have leaked in full, and Ready For It instrumental. everything else is fanmade and is not too terribly bad.

I admin a rare Taylor song discord so... suffice to say, I'm your gal haha

I was so excited about her when i discovered Housewife Spliffin’ but literally nothing else she’s released has even come close to that song.. it’s such a shame. Suicidal Since 1995 was disappointing - even more so when I saw her reply to a fan claiming she wasn’t inspired by Lana for her blatant cover of You Can Be the Boss. :rip:

I like her music still, it's just her attitude I can't stand, such as this and her snapping at fans when they pointed out her 'album' wasn't of typical length. haven't heard anything she put out in the last year or so just because her attitude made me a lil indifferent...

  9. I want people to stop hoping leaked unreleased stuff makes it onto any official albums. we've HEARD IT. why would you waste potential new content just to get your favorite unreleased track on an album? gahhhh

  10. lemme preface by saying I'm not the biggest Ariana stan or anything but I can confidently say I love most of her music up til now. took me awhile to get into her as I couldn't get past the donut situation for awhile but now that I have I pretty much stream all her albums and then download as much live stuff that I can find from fans who make audio sets. she's fantastic live and with a full band. I don't really obsess over her every move tho as far as music videos and fashion, social media posts etc. so here's my pretty unbiased opinion of positions.

    1. cute, legit feels a little disney
    2. it's sexy but also again, pretty cute. I expected this to be another sensual Dangerous Women-esque song. I'm not disappointed tho, it's a fun little romp in the sheets
    3. I was a little bored with this one til Doja came on, I won't lie
    4. I love this one, I really feel the positivity and the self-love, and I love the magic metaphor, talking about meditation and manifestation...as a semi-practicing pagan, I loved it
    5. was disappointed with this one. I feel like she thinks she did somethin and I was just real bored
    6. just unnecessary. should be an  unreleased track that leaks as a track rumored for this album.
    7. I forgot about this song the instant it was over
    8. wanted to love this one, but by the time I got through most of it, I was fully convinced that Ariana is about to come as trans-racial. when 7 Rings dropped and she said 'like my hair? gee thanks, just bought it' people blew the f up and I kind of thought 'okay but she is specifically known for her long ponytail, which is most certainly purchased, so I personally don't see the issue' but idk, with the 'usually don't let people touch it' line, that's like....specifically a Black issue, people asking to touch your hair. it just seems really weird that she's adopting this as an issue she has. more on this later
    9. after 4 semi-cringey songs, I was relieved with this one, kind of. I have my issues with it but I enjoy a good meaningless sex track, and after 34+35, I really wanted one like this
    10. another forgetable one
    11. see above
    12. easily the best track on the album, and I loved it immediately as a single. it's definitely a little basic but it's super catchy. I also think it could have been on thank u, next
    13. this one ain't it either
    14. another cute disney-ish track

overall, I'm a little disappoined. I think most of these songs are only going to be enjoyable to longtime stans who really enjoy letting Ariana be Ariana, and that's okay. I think positions could have been an ep of the best songs or she should have rereleased thank u, next with a few songs as deluxe tracks. I didn't expect to agree with the majority of the people here saying it was boring, the production was lacking creativity, and the lyrics were weak, but I actually kind of agree. I'm usually fine with Ari not being the greatest lyricist(did I spell that right? it's frickin late ?) bc her production and vocals are usually so sick but I just...felt nothing. sweetener and thank u, next felt so incredibly personal. 'we go like up til I'm 'sleep on your chest' is so ridiculous but I still effing FELT that. she shit on Scooter Braun for forcing her to release ghostin and that shit was literally pure magic, I was sobbing at the fcking bus stop when I heard it the first time. yet I seriously felt like she's more proud of singing off the table and it is just so inferior. gahhh.

and to my main concern... I used to be a raging liberal, and over the last few years I've mellowed out and am kind of of the opinion that there are a LOT of people that are indeed sitting around waiting to be offended. when Ari dropped 7 Rings and people freaked out about the hair stuff, the trap house, etc, I brushed them off.

then we saw the cover for thank u, next. she's in straight up blackface. that scandal passed of course bc she was on top of the world and the album slapped but I'm sorry... her attempt to 'sound black' is egregious at this point. almost every song had some cringeworthy fake-ebonics blaccent moment and on top of the not letting ppl touch her hair line, I'm starting to see what people mean.

all in all, I'm not saying I think the album is a flop but I definitely think it's her worst, and a career low. I think it would be very wise of her to drop an EP of new songs in about 5-7 months prior to a world tour(if those are going on by then), and she usually does collabs and features and soundtrack stuff so... I have hope for this era. but damn... was really hoping for some new fire tonight. I'll probably give it a few more listens and I'm REALLY hoping it grows on me. it really bums me out to be disappointed by this much content that I was excited for. this is the biggest let down since I found out BLACKPINK's first album was called The Album and only had eight gd tracks.

we got folklore and how i'm feeling now and I Disagree and Violents Bent Backwards and Miley's rock era is starting this year so I guess SOMETHING bad had to happen. the pop gods giveth and the pop gods taketh away.

“experimental” isn’t technically a genre it’s just whenever an artist experiments out of their comfort zone or the contemporary

I mean I won't lie, I'm certainly no music theory major or anything but I would argue that 'outside the contemporary' constitutes a genre, even if that genre is ever changing. but I wouldn't say 'outside one artists comfort zone' constitutes a genre. Taylor Swift experimenting with pop didn't make her pop-country fusion sound 'experimental' the way that music outside of popular music on the radio is experimental. again, my own personal opinion and I'm certainly no expert. I just would not consider what Ariana has ever done, besides maybe the light is coming, to be experimental compared to other artists.

  12. 9 minutes ago, House of Balloons said:

Do you? Ariana stepped out of her comfort zone, pushed her own boundaries and experimented with different, unconventional sounds. Experimental music. :thumb3:

dunno that I 100% agree with this but I do love your signature ?

sweetener was experimental for Ari but I would never call it experimental pop. it was just a really well rounded pop album seemingly inspired by multiple other genres, experimental included. just my opinion tho

I've slept so hard on Machine Gun Kelly's new album till now, so I've just heard forget me too. It's quite good but I definitely prefer halseys 'rock' vocals on Nightmare and Experiment On Me. She sounds kinda out of place and I think the song would have been better without her.

But the music video has everything forgiven because it's so good :toofunny: can Halsey stop playing pop now and just be a problematic punk queen

agreed. can't speak to the stuff about her personality or personal life that someone recently shared here, I had no idea about any of that, but I honestly don't give a shit if she keeps doing stuff like what she did with Experiment on Me. her and Miley going full rock at the same time would just be -chef's kiss-

  14. positions is nothing special necessarily, like it's not revolutionary pop, but for some reason i really love it. her voice is just never not enjoyable and everything she's done since god is a woman is so addictive. I love the really subtle whistle note towards the end. it's been on repeat since last night pretty much. very excited to work this into my work playlist.

between this serve, Ari's upcoming album, Miley's upcoming album, Lana delivering  Violets, LMLYLAW and cocctober being recognized, Poppy's Inferno being released, Haley's upcoming book, all the Taylor Swift merch I have coming... I'm fucking LIVING right now!!!

I just finished watching the BP documentary on Netflix. It was pretty cool to be able to recognize footage from the start till today and their pre-debut days too, it reminded me of how long I’ve know of this group and their members. I also liked that they showed the darker sides of the k-pop industry, like, super hectic schedules, strict training (only two days off a month, poor things) etc.

same! I really loved too how I think Rosé said that the only difference between American pop acts and kpop is the amount of time they spend training. there's something in me that just...for some reason thrives knowing there's a literal pop bootcamp. call me crazy haha.

I got my cream vinyl from the Universal store last week but today I got the "cream" I bought from shoplanadelrey dot com and it came on clear vinyl!! A previously unknown variation! It's still listed as cream on that site too, but sold out I wish I had bought two. Did anyone else order from there?

I also ordered a bundle from the Universal store that apparently shipped before the cream vinyl that I am still waiting on...

    seriously? that's kinda awesome!

Not to be that person, but can we stop putting artists against each other? Mariah started writing her Memoir way before Lana even had an idea she was going to get published. And it’s pretty obvious nowadays that when a star releases a book, they also release an audio version of the book. Also, not to mention that many other artists did it before Lana, like Lily Allen for example.

Let people express themselves through art the way they want to, especially female artists. Lana just happens to be an artist you follow that has made her debut into poetry, but don’t forget that the world doesn’t revolve around her. I mean, I love Lana but it’s a bit absurd to think she started the trend of audiobooks

please be that person. Lana is incredibly talented but certainly not the first female pop artist to write some poetry.

not saying Taylor is the first either but she wrote and recorded her own poetry in 2017, and it was heard at her 2018 reputation tour, accompanied by video.

it's about high time for Peter Pan and his lost boys to grow up. Halsey and Mariah are both queens. let them rule their own queendoms thank you.

  19. My Taylor Swift audio collection - just the essentials.

i have way more than this in the way of bootlegs, demos, and rares, but this is the collection i never leave the house without.

Includes all standard albums with original art, with additional platinum/deluxe tracks added under THEIR individual artwork.

the 'singles' are alternate versions and demos, some rare. I have way more of these than is displayed here (for example i currently have the rare demos of CIWTR and TOSOTD and unreleased track Her in high quality), but due to preference i don't have them on my phone (Her is actually in with Teardrops on My Guitar, as the songs are both apparently about Drew). so in other words, there are no doubles here, even if it seems like there are.

if you notice, some of my files are labeled with strange dates, like say the 2014 Grammy's is labeled as being in 2013. that is because I wanted that performance to be placed BEFORE the 1989 era. it's just to make it easier to scroll through, an aesthetic choice.

let me know if you have any questions about my collection or organization. i am not currently offering to share anything but i'm happy to help beyond that right now.

  20.

    here goes

    1. never really over - i recall this getting pretty lukewarm to negative reviews but i was stoked about this one, and tbh i haven't been a Katy fan almost at all since One of the Boys, which i know some lesbian and bisexual women hate bc of I Kissed A Girl but it really helped me through the last few years of high school and i definitely had a massive crush on Katy at the time. never really over felt like it was about my interest in her as an artist a little bit as well as just being really enjoyable. the chorus is super fun i think bc it feels like it's difficult to say, like a tongue twister, but it's not so hard to learn after a listen or two. i love the vibe of the chorus outside of that, too. i connect to this song a lot in that i've been reconnected with an old love two or three years after a break up and we entered into a relationship again for over a year and so i really connected to the frantic-but-familiar feel of the easy-but-hard-to-learn chorus. love this song. *chef's kiss*

    2. cry about it later - i think this one will grow on me bc i like all the individual elements. it really speaks to my former party girl, the lyrics talk about having fun but it's really dark, along the lines of Tove Lo's Habits, but that's just it. it's just pretty generic. but i'll definitely add it to my 'relive my self-destructive years' playlist!

    3. teary eyes - songs like these are pretty much why i tapped out of being a Katy fan eventually. the first reason is it felt like it took decades between OOTB and TD but also bc it felt like Katy was in training to be P!NK after TD. she's the early 30s to middle aged woman hype woman and while I have no issue with this, it doesn't appeal to me (i'm just now rounding out 28). teary eyes sounds like this, and what with daisies being next i'm hoping these are the only 2 with this kinda feel but somehow i doubt it.

    4. daisies - despite the shit talk, i actually REALLY like daises. her vocals are enjoyable and it feels really epic, and i love that. this doesn't really feel like a 30-something-hype song so much as your average self-esteem anthem for any ages. it's a little bit 30-something but far more relateable than some similar songs.

    5. resilient - P!NK Jr. i almost fell asleep.

    6. not the end of the world - wow, i actually really love this one. it's a little generic like the rest of the tracks but i really do love songs that sound like they'd make a great addition to a dystopian society teen movie soundtrack. i'm positive that's not what Katy was going for and i have a feeling this album is channeling emotions she felt during her Witness era, which was considered a flop to my knowledge. imo Swish Swish and Bon Appetit and the others i heard were just garbage and i know she experienced some embarrassment over a live event, etc. the ending is a lil corny tho, and this song also just straight up sounds like an scrapped song. it doesn't fit the album at ALL and i feel like it's just justification to call the album Smile (the frown upsidedown line etc) and give it a theme. this should be a song shared among the fans, maybe one the fans obsess over and beg her to release, similar to Charli XCX's fan fave Taxi. but it feels totally out of place on this or really any other Katy Perry album.

    7. smile - the title track is the next song trying to convince the world that Katy is over her flop-era, i feel like. i don't really buy it. i don't think a bad album and a few awkward moments warrant a cancelation but that being said i also don't feel like her awkward era warrants this.

    8. champagne problems - i wanted to love this so goddamn bad. the title is amazing and if i had a myspace or an AIM account (old folks will know what i'm talkin about), i'd change every possible username to 'champagne problems' the SECOND i saw that song name. but it's just boring and even after restarting it 3 or 4 times, my mind kept wandering.

    9. tucked - so Dua Lipa does this sound way better than what Katy is going for here and i wish it had been produced differently but that being said, this one's okay. the part around 2:30 also sounds like a Billie Eilish or Lorde Supercut swag-jack but i don't hold that 5 second part against her. it was a little too heavy but i didn't hate it.

    10. harleys in hawaii - i loooooove this song! it's an incredible summer cruise or makeout/sexytime song. if this song had come out when i was 17, i'd have added it to my playlist of songs for when my boyfriend and i would fool around and not wanna be heard, then i'd throw it on in the car with our friends just to secretly remind him of our intimate moments. it feels very diverse in that if the production was different it could be a Lady Gaga song, or it could be a Lana Del Rey song. it's nice bc it glamorizes a situation i've never experienced but it's also strangely the most mainstream and relateable.

    11. only love - i knew i'd hate this one. first line makes it sound like a RENT knockoff song which i also hate. endlessly positive songs just irk me.

    12. what makes a woman - this one, like another user said, feels like OOTB Katy a little bit but it also sounds a bit like songs on Kesha's Rainbow. it's also just jumping on the girlpower trend. i'm here for feminist pop music but there's just something about this one i don't love.

    13. high on your supply - this one is just not great. i'm not sure why it was added as a deluxe track. it feels all over the place but maybe i need another listen.

    14. voice memo - why. just why. this is so weird. Taylor Swift does voice memos, is this what she THOUGHT she was doing? it's so cringeworthy i barely listened to a minute of it. her forcing being choked up while thanking her fans was just so... wow. almost ruined the few highlights of not only this album but her entire career. no one needed this. i can't believe she charged her fans for this. ouch.

  21. 41 minutes ago, HydroponicWeeds said:

also adding onto what I said here. I also believe she tried hard to make radio friendly pop music at first and by the time she took off as an artist, she was struggling between making some kind of music that really resonated with her vs what the label wanted her to be doing. She could've just as easily sent her label a bunch of unreleased pop tracks and said "here's an album", we literally have hundreds of tracks she could've used. but she didn't want to be a radio puppet and she didn't want that to be who LDR is. she wanted to be a storyteller with her music, not just some robotic pop artist, which she luckily put her foot down during the UV era and said she's making what she wants or nothing at all. period.

this is actually what's made me love her so much. bc she gets to make what she wants, she's honestly one of the most, if not the most, authentic songwriter of our time right now.

i've been a casual Lana fan for a few years and the last year i've been getting really hooked, but at the same time still very sort of taking my sweet time consuming her art, reading each wiki page for every song, album, etc...

i've been saying since i started dipping my toes in further that she's a genius because she straight up made this incredible radio friendly album, Born To Die, that was almost like a mainstream movie trailer to introduce the world to her imagery and unique sound and then once we were hooked, after ONE album, she decided to do whatever the hell she wanted.

this kind of big dick energy is only in the last year or so making it's way into the mainstream, and Lana is to thank for that. artists are making what they want to make now because Lana taught them it was okay once you're a star.

she said 'oh you liked Blue Jeans? sick, here's a 9 minute soft rock jam that you're going to play on the actual radio bc I said so.' who the actual hell can top that? what an icon.

  22. does anyone have a HQ link to The Lakes? Dying to hear that one! Need it on my phone!
